I understand why people buy these special editions. But I just find it hilarious.
The brassed Lenny Kravitz model must have sold well, otherwise this crazy version wouldn't have been made. I think Lenny has the distinction of being the only celebrity to have more than one Leica limited edition camera set.
God! People actually bought into that ‘brassed’ nonsense? Must be more bored millionaires around than I thought 😂
Phenomenal presentation of the camera, especially from 11:20 - 11:35 is stunning.

Lots of dissent in the comments, but if you've the means for such a special camera I think it's delightful. I suppose commissioning an artist to re-style or rebuild one would be the alternative. I like how expressive and nostalgic it is. Congratulations - please stage a shoot or take it out; it must see the world.

Can someone explain to me what is so special about this camera over the conventional camera? What added value does it bring to your enjoyment of photography? Is it just the skin from a cheap handbag that looks interesting? What is it exactly?

I indeed enjoy the Kravitz camera, thx! The design is a matter of taste but the camera is truly special and I do not bother about hater's comments on design. But clearly the camera design polarizes people - which makes the camera (given limited units) even more interesting.
Unfortunate that you are tied in to Kravitz's choices of lens, I shoot 35mm only on my Leica :-)

From a casual observer, I think they could have done better with the style and colour, it's also quite thick, chunky and those curved ends do nothing for me! ⚠️😲
OMG! Video quality is so bad, It answers all the questions about if anyone should use Leica for video or not.
I have the Q2, like it for taking pictures - but there are very good reasons for not using it for videos ...
I had absolutely no interest in this camera - it's just not to my taste. But I have to admit after seeing this closer look at it, it's better than I thought it would be.
The design seems to polarize people if I read comments below the video. It is a collectors piece, and I like Kravitz as a musician. The camera wrapped into the design is fabulous as any other Leica Mono.

It looks like ultra-high-class confectionery - chocolate that you would not dare to eat. Who would dare to take such a camera out of the house? I guess it helps to keep the Leica business viable, but it give the wrong impression of Leica photography being only for people with deep pockets, which it is not. There are lots of old Leica lenses and compatible lenses, and older Leica film and digital bodies, available at a modest price, and they hold their value on re-sale. Except that you would not want to use any Leica film camera if it was still in mint condition after several decades.
A solid bronze body and top and bases plate, unpainted but with the original black leather effect finish would be nice.
So you have seen sneaker shoe collaborations that cost thousands...the Nike x Dior Air Jordan’s. It’s a bit much...quit a bit. It’s a luxury good though, so it is to be expected.
There are also $45 USD Nike high tops.

I love the camera, I have a Q2 also but would never film with it, you need a working camera that can focus fast to film with on UA-cam, lol get a Sony for real work.

Yep, current day Leica, all about form and fashion and not about actual picture quality performance. Just a glove sniffer hipster camera. Where’s the Victoria Beckham version? LOL!
Point and shoot quality wrapped in machined steel.
These special editions are not made for use but they are a nice earner for the company. Their mainstream M range are competent, compact and easy to use tools for taking pictures with.

Leica was a great camera... now its just branding! The camera has awful focus.
These weird editions to put in glass cupboards help to keep the firm profitable. The M series are competent and easy to use digital cameras which can be used with all Leica fit lenses back to about 1930, including the old Russian ones. You can get nice pictures by putting these old lenses on digital cameras. You don't need a particularly deep pocket.
I wish you drop your camera when unpacking. lol
