Great video; upvoted. I appreciated the detailed look at this set.
But lose the background music. Listening to the same two chords over and over is annoying. You have a good "NPR" type of voice. Listen to NPR: They don't use background noise. Your voice is pleasant enough to stand on its own.
And for the lovagod, put on a pair of cotton museum gloves! 10 bucks on Amazon. Nobody wants to see a pristine camera set assaulted by a pair of bare hands lol. And besides, unless you are a hand model, nobody's hands look good in full screen. Use gloves.
I nitpick, but overall a very helpful vid - thanks for this!

One thing that drives me crazy is people using looped music on their videos. Have it for the intro... then turn it of until the outro. Couldn't watch more than 5 mins. 😱

An amazing package. How could you in good conscience go out and shoot with that? You should have considered using white gloves to keep your greasy digits off of the contents of the set. It also would have been better and hold more value in the long run if it was a film camera. Thanks for the video!

Well this camera is a Joke by the young hipsters that work for Leica right, and if Jim was alive he would go to the Leica store in San Francisco and hurl his camera at the window and say this: "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME-EVEN I WOULD NOT AFFORD IT!!!" End quote. I have seen his Leica's, and yes they were brassy, but IT IS NOT THE CAMERA THAT MAKE YOU FAMOUS! IT IS YOU! This camera. Is going to set you in the Poor house. How much? yea right.
Now even in this kit you do get the book, but in truth I rather have the book instead Right? This 10 to 12 add another zero grand or better yet try 30 Grand on EBay, maybe?. As this kit would not make you like Jim Marshall, NO! The man brought the Human Condition to his works, his Love, and Passion to photograph Hendrix burning his guitar, Johnny Cash giving the finger, the only shooter to photograph the Beatles at the Stick as it was the LAST CONCERT, the Shots of Janis and Grace together. And the list goes on, and on. Owning this this camera WILL NOT GIVE YOU STYLE No-it will give you Pain how? Well first you have to insured it to it's CORRECT VALUE, then you have to put the camera in a Safety Deposit Box with a guard there 24/7, then that is not the half problem when you know that after this video ended that most of the models number One to Fifty models are sold that your out of luck, but if you are one of the lucky ones that place a deposit down on this kit that you have to dipped on your mortgage of your home 3rd or 4th mortgage , and Max out your cards, and miss payments on your Alimony, and lied to the Ex, and break into the Kid's College fund, and say to them, "Well their is City College Maybe next year-After my first book from this camera-Maybe it sell but if it does not you may see your books at the sale's table at Half Price Books-I always go there for good Photo books, and old films on DVD.
Now for a serious note, that I have Full Respect for Jim's Assistant for keeping Jim's images to see for everyone, Thank you very much in keeping Jim's work alive, but this camera Sorry, You see when I first met Jim was when I was in City College for my last semester, and when meeting him was a pleasure, his experience when he shown his images, and also his cheery colorful metaphor love it. But he had a style as with this camera kit Will Not Make You into Jim No. Like I said Jim had style, and so did Bresson, Capa, W Gene Smith, Fred Lyon, Salgado, Douglas D Duncan, Robert Doisneau, Elliot Erwitt, and William A Allard they all have Style, where are their cameras? No they have their Books in which it is better, and more to have. This camera prove that is a camera to show off at the Leica Gallery right? You along with your camera, and your stupid Tesla in which I called them Shitla because you owners do not know how to Drive Properly. As I say again that This camera will not make you a Jim Marshall, no. My gear dates from the late 50's to the late 60's, and as for my digital gear it dates from 2006, and very proud of that, I being doing photography since 1972 as for Jim he's being doing it when he heard music on Fillmore street in the 1940's, and wanted to be a photographer. Gear does not make the photo, it is you from heart, and soul as that you have to produce it onto paper or online, and you have to Pre-visualize your shots before placing them on either Tumbler, and Instagram. I knew Jim when I was working at a camera store here in San Francisco, as he made me very happy to see him, and going to his gallery openings, as he came to the store, and told us of an opening at Post Street, as I couldn't make but he back to the store that he told us he sold one print, but he was getting ready for his trip to New York, that Jim came to me, and he had a Polaroid camera a that he was going to use for his trip, and sold him some film, and I clean the camera processing rollers, and blew out some dust out, and clean the lens as he said to me: "Alex, your a Gentleman, and a Scholar" and I said that's it, and saying back to me, What you want a tip? I said no I wanted to hear your colorful philosophy, and he told that he tone down, and I wish him luck, and said bye to him.
(This is hard) The next day when I came home My mom gave me the Chronicle, and I read that Jim was gone. Really missed you but your images will live on, Just Do not Piss Off God.

Because the M Monochrom lacks a Bayer color filter array (CFA), the gain for each and every pixel is uniform, and has a stop greater base sensitivity for the whole sensor. This makes high ISO very clean, and eliminates per-channel noise (most noticeable in the blue channel as this color filter requires the most gain). It also eliminates the need for demosaicing algorithms. This results in higher per-pixel acuity and visually appears to have about a 30% increase in resolution. Likewise, because each and every pixel is capturing a 14-bit value, the resulting RAW file has 16,384 shades of gray per pixel, far more nuance than you'd have converting from a color image in 8-bit space (256 shades of gray).
I highly recommend reading our Monochrom review, both for a technical discussion of what sets the camera apart, as well seeing the images the camera is capable of capturing.

We also did a head-to-head comparison between the M240 and M Monochrom across the full ISO range, with the color camera converted to B&W.
