7:35 don’t apologize to us for geeking out. Your excitement about build differentiation and the nuance there is one of the best parts of your casting kit. Excellent (at least to the layperson, scan might have a different critique lol) analysis for the people who aren’t embedded in the game.
Will someone please make a clips video of all the times Artosis has zoomed in on a unit and realized something new? Honestly it is kind of amazing none of us see these little details till now. Artosis gonna be 90 going, "I literally never realized dragoons have freakin lasers on their face!"
Yeah this is starting to get addicted, been around, well i am not sure how long. But as long you upload and give your insight of the match, i will see it with you. This must be one of the best CNSL in a while in my opinion. Thanks Arty, or should i say Dan :)
I watch these videos after I get home from work, first thing before preparing dinner. Its nice to wind down with some good Starcraft and Arty's soothing voice.
Thanks! Hopefully your dump is going well today. EDIT: Holy crap, Goliaths have antennas! We're still learning things about this game after nearly three decades.
Really don't think it was the build tbh. After killing those reavers I think Scan is in a prime position to kill the third, but he smelled blood and got impatient. He then pushed to far with a relatively small army, got cut off and soon after got divided and conquered. If Scan, holds his position on the map, waits for a couple of factory rounds to join up with the army, maybe sends a couple scv's too and then reinforces with vultures, I think he has a much better shot at killing that third base. Protoss can't fight only dragoons without zealots, but Terran can't fight only tank with no vultures. If you don't have any vultures, you don't push imo.
Artosis is awesome but his Twitch is too crazy for me lol - Day9 had a hilarious story about it that is so true. ArtosisCasts is SO NICE to get Artosis content and watch him showcase excellent matchups in a format that is much more suited to my type of viewing. Thanks Artosis!
Also I think you should lean into the geeking out part of your casts. We are hear to hear your knowledge of the game and the extra depth is awesome. You can't geek out so much on professional casts so I think you should do that here.
motive fuckin rules man. Scan is an awesome player and honestly I think he's more consistent/probably a better player overall but i love how motive pounces on small mistakes and how he clutches out wins. This tournament he's on fire!!!!
From watching these two games I think it's safe to say that in PvT versus Motive you can't be passive early game. He is greeding like crazy with his probe counts and quick third.
Wow, at at the 11:00 clash, only 9-10 tank volleys hit dragoons, and from those volleys only 3 dragoons go down. Almost complete army defusal from 4 zealots... and 2 of them survive.
man, watching this one its kinda hard to understand how exactly Scan failed. Looks he was just sorta doomed from the start? Even after his complete loss over at 9 o'clock, his tank production was really slow. Should he just have dug in and tried to focus on expanding?
Artosis, an idea about spoiling via video lenght. can you add some blank space at the end of the video, so its not obivious whether there will be a game 3, or whether the game will end in 3 minutes?
Can you explain in a future video why (1) Arbiter left the meta, (2) why 5-fact builds have made Arbiter come back into the meta, and (3) why Terran being limited to 3 bases makes Aribter play more effective? I haven't been able to follow the strategic logic for this.
Some general musings paraphrased from Artosis' analysis throughout disappearance of arbiter play: 1) There are many factors for why arbiters left meta. Not that arbiter became weaker (they were rushing them on 2 gas), protoss just realized through map design that: gateway and shuttle play is just way more efficient exploding out massive army, with less gas needed to rush arb tech. So as a matter of competing builds, gatewayman rose, mass speed shuttle rose, both ate directly into arbiter share of meta. we don't recognize fleet beacon on this channel. Number 1 reason: major shifts in map design focused on stressing conflict over gas bases. 2) I'm working on understanding effects of factory count on gamestate so I'll defer this to someone else. This one seems highly technical relating to tempo, army deployment, and compromise between defensive investments and offensive power. 3) This one is on mapmaker trends, changing availability of gas to experiment with stressing zerg and terran playstyle dynamics. Many of the newer 4 player maps tinker with going from 16 overall bases to 12 + pinata minerals in middle, or the "3rd" becoming "mineral only", but the 4th base is some pure cardinal symmetrical, isolated base like radeon or citiadel. The distortion to the pure rotational symmetry from previous 4 player maps denies Terran a naturally flowing quadrant they can reinforce, or turtle out wins. inject confrontation from the previous "quadrant" based map splitting. Terran on 3 gas is already liberating, they can basically do ANYTHING on 4 gas. 4 gas Zerg can already ling/ultra/defiler, 5 gas is an unchained beast. Mapmakers won, game went from denying Terran their 4th gas or zerg their 5th, to deny terran 3rd gas, zerg 4th gas. On Retro specifically, the 3rd is a cardinal position, the 4th is a cardinal position, it's a nightmare to defend 12, 3 AND Nat rallypoint. Add in the restricted entry to the cardinal expansions, I think you can now feel the Recall of Damocles hanging over you main, 3rd, and 4th bases, let alone the other three Horsemen of the Protocalypse. I'm sure I've missed some other major protoss shifts in overall game theory & philosophy. Arbiter no longer needed as the way to crack open a terran quadrant or snap a terran army in half, but protoss remembered it CAN still do those things.
Like you never notice Serral is the GOAT if you dont discount everything online or at the very least not during COVID but hey you are a honest man. So i wil comment to help you with the AI
RT, while you read this on the toilet, once again i am asking that you put the map name in small font right under the player names/score to help losers like me remember what the map being played is after the first minute of the video.
What a game.... Motive is so freaking good at BW. No idea how he does it. When I go 19 Nexus the Terran just runs me over with that stupid 7 marine 1 tank 1 vulture push.
Spoilers Funny how both games end in a way that rhymes. The mid game not maxed out low upgrade nearly no defense at home army 'int'/throw away. Why not take the strategy of before the main army leaves home to pressure you throw up like 3 defenses at each base?!?! Insurance people, safety precautions wont hurt only help especially on highground bases!
As soon as Artosis said, "I use this build every match!" I muttered, 'Oh no.'
At that moment, I bet my house on Motive.
Scan does not have Mario erotica, so the build may actually work

He seems to indeed jave a secret stash of Mario&Luigi 😫🍆 💦

Considering the results.
to be fair, it was an altered version of Arto's build.
artosis: this is my build, i taught him this one. [proceeds to die quickly]
lol, my thoughts exactly !
I was just about to post this.
😂
the truth has been spoken ...
"If you can't kill a base
don't kill it."
-Tasteless the wise
I feel like if Scan had just sent his entire army up the ramp he would have killed that 3rd
What we've learned.
1. Goliaths have antennas.
2. Arty's build choices are impeccable.

If only the twitch stream was this level of quality.
At 12:55 @artosiscasts says Scan is in Dire Straits, which is false. This was played on Retro.
I unsubscribed you, so I could subscribe again. Great work mate, that channel has become a part of my routine!
yes indeed, coffee and a new arotsis casting vod every morning!!

I absolutely LOVE watching my casts during my lunch break ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Studying for a big medical exam but have been loving these during lunch breaks
I watch these casts every time before going to bed, it's kinda calmy but yet interesting and fun)
Hell yeah Arty! Watching your videos is a daily routine, don't stop!
It's always great to see a video from my favourite caster on my favourite game to see casted. I'll never get tired of Brood War.
Love the consistent daily uploads, is legit part of my routine in the morning Breakfast+Coffee+ArtosisCasts
Watching these videos are literally the best part of my work mornings Arty - Thank you!
Oooof, Scan's goliaths wrekt those Reavers in the Shuttle!
and LOL @Scan's army on that Nexus attack
Thanks for all the videos artosis! You’re great!
Goliaths have antennas. Arty makes colour commentary into magic.
I watch every night as I go to sleep. When my cat hears arty on the tablet, she comes running to bed
Watching now! First game was excellent. Looking good so far
Goliaths have antenna.
How else could they talk to TACCOM?
Great hosting. You earned my sub for sure
I don’t really have anything to say. This comment is just here to let the channel grow.

Love the CNSL content.
One thing we absolutely did not doubt was your sincerity with regards to BW

Cooking breakfast right now. Feels good.

Gave up coffee, but still watch during breakfast
I never knew about antenna but I knew about the spinning guy in the missile turret
Glad they are trading games back and forth!
I watch artys vids every day in-between my morning dumps! 🙂💩
The Goliaths need those antenna’s to help with charon booster tracking on air units. Before the upgrade they don’t have the antenna.
This is part of my routine! I keep asking you why we never see disruption web? it seems so useful???
Goliath antennae chilled me to my core

I don’t always watch artosis. But when I do, I watch 12 at a time
Motive's first shuttle gets quickly blown every single game. He fixes that, he qualifies for ASL.
I feel you bro. I love this game
Starcraft is such a classic game, like + comment for the bump ☕
RT's build, complete with overconfidence XD (luv u rt)
liked the video for just showing us that goliaths have antennas. crazy.
Antennas all day!
+1 for eat dinner with this.
I think that EMP shot for 750 shield dmg to Nexus and then attack with vultures would do the job.
glad Arty's ADHD is as bad as mine xD "hey, goliath antennas" lol
as im drinking my coffee and taking a break from work haha

You definelty don't enjoy casting SC2 as much as Broodwar by the sound of your enthusiasm when commentating SC2 :D Love you work Artosis.
i mean f*cking obviously; why would you be enthusiastic to cast a mediocre gayme??
Artosis, an idea about spoiling via video lenght. can you add some blank space at the end of the video, so its not obivious whether there will be a game 3, or whether the game will end in 3 minutes?
Hey artosis. I think it might help to put in the second casting channel on your yt profile, because until this video I didn't know it even existed
lunch in Hawaii typically. Thank you.
3rd base for Terran should always be a hard wall. Keep the zelz out and rain fire from above.

5-fact means Terran stays on 2 bases for a long time, and so only has 2 comsats. Thus Arbiters can become an issue...
@@peterjordan9354 It kinda sucks to be reminded that BOTH Zerg and Protoss couldn't care less about turrets.
It's a safe build for terran. Safe with mines to survive early game. You know everything, with comsats. Until midgame, then you die.
unbreakable spoiler wall!
Artosis gave a spoiler for this one himself by early on saying this is his build... there's no coming back from that :(
I want more descriptive titles like finals game 2

The name of the video should have been "goliaths have antennas"

why did we not go up the ramp at the 3rd......? and take a 1000 times more efficient trade at least...?
***GOLIATHS HAVE ANTENNAS***
who else watch arty vids while eating

I know its 1-1 but essentially its 2-1 for motive because of the troy map. Its impossiple for terran to win against protoss on troy map..

What would happen in BW if the starting worker count changed? Pros have a heart attack?
Lesson of the day, dont read the comments before watching the whole video 🤣.
