Joel actually was one of the most resistance to the entity imo. He was alive for six days and was able to successfully transfer the curse to Lewis but yeah his death was unfortunate. I think the main reason he was so resistance because the more mentally stable the person is the harder for the entity to take over. He was also a cop military training also help a lot.

Its crazy to think how fast the demon ate her up since she has so much trauma and nobody to help her through it so it just gave her a sense of hope just for fun
I like the theory that the last time she truly had any control was the first meeting with Morris. He said “its been three days and any more time it will manipulate your mind too much to do anything” or something along those lines. Once she turned him down the first time she had no chance.
Judging from the ending Smile 3 might end up being about humanity almost being wiped out due to the smile curse and demon killing half of Earth population.
I don't see the entity lasting much longer after the stunt it pulled of at the end. It thrived when the victims were isolated, but now people will know it exists and find ways to defeat it. Thousands, millions may die, but government agencies will put an end to it, even if the methods won't exactly be humane.
Honestly that reminds me of the ring and the grudge, up to the 7 day rule and the near apocalyptic levels of victims the curse claimed (makes me wonder if there was some inspiration from the ring at least…)
It will only affect people with existing trauma. So far at least, that’s what the rule’s been. Plus the entity didn’t put itself. As far as people know, Skye went nuts and killed herself.
Once they showed the flashback scene of her car accident and she was the one who intentionally caused it to happen, I knew she wouldn't survive in the end.

I feel like the monster has gotten stronger since Rose, the more it kills, the stronger and larger it gets. She totally lost control after day 3 with Morris and it seems she blacked out ever since the arm in her mouth. She didnt even get a full 7 days. Its definitely getting stronger, or maybe Sky just had so much trauma it literally thrived so much from it. When it killed her mom, and it turned out to be Sky that did it i was so blown away. And then to see it was all hallucinations is insane. Im excited for 3 rather its a prequel or not., although i seen his short film may be a prequel 👀
It would be a completely different Movie Smile 3 based on how many people inherited the curse now. They can make it an amazing horrifying movie about thousands of people suffering like hell and the attempt to fight the demon or it’s gonna flop. This production crew knows what theyre doing though so they can make it great I’m sure
the smile demon isn’t getting stronger but people who’re more damaged emotionally and aren’t strong mentally die faster. Rose and the cop lasted 6 days. Sky Riley lasted 3 days because of her mental state.

Doesn't the Bird Box demon have different types of possession? If you open your eyes, the demon can possess you, and it doesn't require someone to witness another's death.
Smile 3 needs a protagonist who will be able to REALLY heal their traumatic wounds - there is no way to kill the entity I think, BUT one itself can kill it for themselves - make it go away - kill their trauma …
@@francinocasieri5073I think having a main character capable of healing from their trauma is more importanr for the message than the horror itself. You shouldn't undersell trauma, but sending a message that it's impossible to heal your trauma is just horrible.
I think everything was real up until the dance crew apartment sequence when the entities arm enters her mouth. The entity was in control and she took a backseat ride in her own mind/body torturing her until the concert. During the freezer scene it says “I like wearing your skin”.

I think that originally the story was written to have Skye 'kill' the demon by locking herself in the freezer. The production co wanted a rewrite to allude to a 3rd movie.
That's absolutely correct, it's real. There have been a leak for the original ending scripted and it was filmed. The original ending was removed because Paramount wanted more Smile sequels.
I think this movie could claim the title for this era's exorcist movie. Other movies not as good. Hereditary is another good one though. Barbarian.... was more gross than scary. I dont see how midsommer is considered a really scary movie though. The visit, that was another interesting one.
I’m 32 years old and it’s been so long since a movie shook me but this movie is crazy man. It’s sad because it’s what really happens during mental health issues. It’s like the combination of Freddy Kruger and IT. A shape shifting monster that is in your mind and torments you. I think Moris was also the entity.

I hope the Smile franchise don't end up like the Final Destination franchise with each movie ending is the same where a survivor or the remaining survivors die in the end of the movie with no way to beat Death hopefully if we get more movies there is a way to beat the smile demon.
I think the point of the movie is that there is no way to beat the Smile Entity, just like you can't automatically turn off schizophrenia if you have it or how a hallucinogenic doesn't lose its potency when someone realizes they are on it.
@@andrewbruskin6923they o ly way for the ole demon to lose is if it infected someone who has no contact with anyone for at least a week, Job vacation, sat in their bedroom all day in a house where no one knows their location, and to have at least some understanding of the demon and how they just got infected by seeing someone die in front of them. Joel had the best chance. I believe Morris has a good chance if he were to get infected.
@@jaetentv Just because nobody has lasted a week doesn't mean the creature can only survive in a host for a week. We don't actually know very much for sure, we're just assuming the pattern is mandatory.
So basically imo after the apartment scene where skyy had one of the dancers arms put down her throat (kinda like when the demon does this to the hosts near the end) it had full control. It knew she was probably gonna end up going to morris so that night with the dancers in the apartment everything after that was her being possessed by the entity it was showing her a false reality meanwhile using her body to keep up appearances and act normally
I think the entity is going on the offensive as a means of defense. It probably allowed Skye to go see what that guy in the bar has to say and went "YIKES!! He knows how to take me out", & so pulled that stunt on the concert to infect too many people for one guy to keep track off. As for the trauma thing (the monster supposedly requiring people already suffering from trauma), I think witnessing what those audience members witnessed is traumatic enough, it will of course take a bit longer to break them down, but like with the cop (who faced no appreciable level of trauma before being infected) the entity will eventually break them and use them to spread. Just my two cents.

My favorite part about this movie as a whole is that it doesn’t do the cliche “silent for 6 seconds then loud noise” jump scare. That shit literally is so corny and played out that it ruins basically every horror movie that’s come out in the last 4 years and ruined whole franchises like insidious. The jump scares are actually creative, still predictable in a sense but super creative so that the payout is you being genuinely creeped out instead of rolling your eyes

The feeling of dread the entire film just gets under your skin. You know it’s hopeless from the beginning and when the character feels some type of hope it’s even worse. And monsters don’t usually scare me but this one gave me the creeps! Easily one of the best horror films of the last decade or more.
Here’s my idea on how they can tackle the 3rd installment of Smile. If a 3rd movie isn’t created, maybe transitioning it to a sequel TV series can work since we learned that it has spread to so many people at the end of Smile 2. In order for this TV series to be successful, it needs to have the SAME director, producers, writers, and music composers to retain the same horrifying & creepy atmosphere that has already been built. The Smile TV series can have 10-13 episodes with each episode focusing on a different person that got “infected” from the night they attended Skye Riley’s concert. Each episode will focus on their perspective & what they did to fight this parasitic entity with the time crunch that they had. Some episodes ending with some people being successful at beating this curse and some maybe not so successful. This allows for things to get more fleshed out considering the Smile demon has spread its curse to thousands of people. In the paranormal world you never know if you’re dealing with just 1 demon or 2 or 3 or maybe hundreds and thousands of them. This tv series would be an opportunity to maybe get some answers and some progression towards learning more about this entity. Every celebrity has diverse fans from all over the world so each episode can focus on diverse characters coming from different backgrounds and maybe they can go as far as incorporating their cultural & religious beliefs into the mix into combating this demon. After this series, they can choose to continue it, or go back to movie format letting viewers know how to follow the order of the story in the Smile universe.
I’m curious. If you blind yourself with chemicals like alkali, could the smile demon still haunt you? since in the movies it seems to me that the smile demon heavily relies on you actually seeing the demon to in order to torment you doesn’t since it can’t physically hurt us

So I'm curious about something, it seemed like Skye was targeted by the entity because of her fame, so it could possess multiple people and make the chain larger, but I'm wondering if this was a repercussion of morris idea to end the chain, like when it became aware that his plan had the potential to work, it had to make the chain unbreakable. When it infects people, is it random, or does it somehow know the person it needs to infect for the greatest effect?
I like your theory. It kind of hard to say but i think regardless it wanted to use her to get more people. But after Morris plan definitely probably fueled it to do so.
I was just thinking that, but I considered that it would be unlikely for the entity to purposely target Skye, for it to be the master plan initially. I think the entity has to learn about people, and it's not omnipotent/all powerful. It only learns through the host probably. Remember it was Skye that contacted Luis not the other way around. So somebody would have stumbled across Luis eventually whether it had been her or not. But you're right, it likely became more aggressive after the meeting with Morris. After that meeting it immediately attacked her before she could flee wherever she planned to go. Also note that the camera immediately turned sideways (vertical) when she flees from Morris. Implying things were off.
@@BrittneyCake I think he was real when he met Skye at the bar, but he straight up said the longer she stays infected the more control it has over her mind. At that point it had been three days, @ronnie3613 pointed out the camera going sideways, which I completely missed...I think the point after that when she is ambushed by the entity in the form of her background dancers and put into the rehab facility is when everything became fake, morris included.

I know it's done like a million times or less but I want to know the origin of the Smiling entity. Makes me think that the origin started with a person who keeps smiling no matter what situation they are in and got killed while smiling which created the entity.
Every time we get an explanation for a horror movie monster the explanation is usually underwhelming and unsatisfying. Rather they don’t give an explanation to this one.
i think the demons power over the mind is based on thier mental state because in both movies the main character was having problems with mental health before and after the curse
What my biggest question here is, what would happen if you try to stop the host from killing themself when they’re about to pass it on? Like at the beginning, what would that guy have done if she pulled that weight away from him before he could use it on himself? Would he have just gone to get it and tried again? Would he have killed her instead? I feel like theoretically you could delay the host from passing on the curse by messing with them and making it intentionally difficult to pass it on. Even if it’s as simple as knocking what they are using out of their hand.
The professor killed himself in front of an entire class, yet only one student was infected(the girl who then killed herself in front of the main character of the first movie) I don’t see why this is different, if the demon gained an advantage it would be that it managed to lose anyone tracking it across deaths.
When the dancers get her at day four and shove their hand down her throat, she was done for. It showed her like rose that she could have saved someone or not kill someone and she did, everything after that was a personal hell it has her trapped in while she is being puppeted to the concert and it's so scary to think what she was doing or seemed like to everyone around her while this was happening, it made her seem OK enough to get there. It's so chilling.
Smile 3 could go the direction of media hype and mass hysteria where mass suicide is attributed to people copying their favorite pop star... or maybe the entity can only pick one person at a time. The Rings movie ended with Samara going viral and I wonder what a sequel to that wouodve looked like too.
If I’m not mistaken the pic in the thumbnail is actually the entity from the first film. It’s sure as hell been used in thumbnails for the first film ever since it came out, so…I’m officially confused.
Just look away and leave when the possessed are ending themselves in front of you. At least Rose and Joel could have done that. Also, if the witnesses are desensitized police officers or medical professionals who've seen countless horrific deaths, the creature's worst may seem basic to them.
When that demon told Skye to “break a leg out there” knowing she literally shattered her leg in that car accident when she realized she was about to go on stage I felt bad for her that demon had no mercy 😂
I like how the movie confirms that the creature’s origins are a real mystery and up to the viewer’s interpretation. Like, it could be a demon, angel, spirit, eldritch being, or even a cosmic entity. If it was a cosmic entity, then imagine how many extraterrestrial races it wiped out before arriving to Earth.
You know what I would love, a cross over between Terrifier and Smile. I don’t know how or why Art and the Smile demon could exist together, but make it happen. I want to see a crossover between two villains that from a horror movie standpoint are on opposite ends of horror and the themes are just chaotically changing as on one end you have a serious problem with suicide and trauma, while on the other it is this goofy clown brutalizing everyone with a possible showdown being these two entities basically sick of each other for stealing their kills, and if the Smile demon can duplicate, then we can have a mob jump Art. I wanna see a crossover between the new gen of horror.

The "smile demon" ultimately sealed his own fate. Yes, he did it in front of many witnesses, as there wasn’t a rule limiting it to one person at a time-thus increasing his chances of being overpowered. Imagine if one of his victims were already a psychopath, suffered from dissociative identity disorder, or had a deeply disturbed mind. When the entity enters someone like that, it can't twist what's already twisted or break what's already broken. Rather than simply curing or defeating the demon, who represents deep trauma leading to insanity or even suicide, there are people who manage to live with their trauma. The demon doesn't immediately destroy its host because it needs time to build them up-it isn’t about playing with its prey or following rules. The demon can be trapped in someone who doesn’t fear it.

I think it’ll be just one entity while leaving thousands of the other witnesses scarred for life. It’s interesting because many of those witnesses would have the same mental health symptoms as the host which would make it damn near impossible for Morris (if he was real, which I believe he was) to track down in order to stop it for good!
Everything was fake after Meeting with Morris and the backup dancers sticking their hands down Skye's throat. In the first film, it is stated that each victim lasts four days to a week. And Morris tells Skye she's running out of time since she's on her third day. The demon prob realized Morris could defeat it, so it ensured Skye was hallucinating from onwards until her performance on stage.
I have a sneaky suspicion that Skye didn’t die. Her death could have been an illusion/a fabrication while Morris tries to bring her back to life. I think we will Skye in smile 3 but that’s my take on the film.
This movie was great minus the ending. I just didn’t like it. I wish they would have done something different. Still with the crowd but maybe changing how the entity looks. It just looked cgi-ish.
It was definitely a great movie and I agree with your point about the entity. I feel like the entity looked a lot better in Smile 1, the ending of this one felt like I was watching a dream. It was still fire tho 🔥
The entity has no other looks since that’s its true form. That would be like changing the look of Annabelle, like no. This is honestly a perfect ending because the creature perfectly set EVERYTHING up. The abandoned pizza place was like the backstage of the concert.
An amazing movie. A bit slow at times in the first half, but well worth it in the second half. I absolutely love how as the audience we don’t know what is real or not. Like, we still don’t even know if morris was even real! It’s just an incredible way for the audience to truly understand in a way what the character is going through by undermining our understanding of the events that have transpired every step of the way, to the point where it could be argued that everything from the time of the curse transferring to the point where she was on stage could have all been a series of illusions to make Sky lose her mind. An incredibly well done movie. This is how you do a sequel. Do what you did before, but better.
SPOILERS!: The ending absolutely shocked me, I thought that Skye could escape the curse through Morris stopping her heart then being resuscitated, then to realise it was all a hallucination was unbelievable. I think Morris was actually a real person as he texted Skye shortly after Lewis died, but the last real interaction she had with him was at the bar, and therefore Skyes last chance to stop the curse. I believe the entity at that point knew that Morris could actually stop it and thus went into overdrive with the visions of those people smiling at Skye's apartment, and because of all the trauma in her life she only lasted 4 days in the end. I'm so excited for Smile 3 and what the implications of the ending are, because so many now have the curse will it end up going global and killing thousands, maybe Morris sees this and tries to get everyone who was at the concert to do what he wanted Skye to do, they don't believe him and the situation gets worse.
Guy you are forgetting a crucial point. The professor kill himself in yhe middle of a class in the first movie. I don't think its gonna spread to many people.
This was definitely 1 of the scariest horror movies of the year hands down , it was so good , the creep scenes and jump scares and the actress herself Noami s actting ability was incredibe , an amazing horror movie that exceeded the 1st one
When she’s talking to morris she’s constantly getting phone calls. Her mom, her agent, her label and others. Obviously all these people aren’t constantly calling her so it was def the demon trying to get her away from talking to Morris which is cool. If only she’d listened to him earlier. Funny how it also doesn’t text her since it literally can’t.
I feel like if the curse spread to thousands of people it would just ruin the psychological horror aspect. No one believes one person who sees the entity, but if thousands of people see it, obviously you aren’t crazy and can come up with solutions.
My opinion is you can't beat the demon because there's no demon. It's all trauma. This trauma is about witnessing horrific things. While the victims have witnessed these things, they have also made bad choices that could have been avoided. There's a point where it's all happening in the mind. In this film. It's after the arm goes down her throat. The demon is just a clever way to make a good antagonist for visual purposes. It's like helping us understand what a schizophrenic goes through. In the first film, the doctor could have went home before seeing the patient. In this one, she should have stayed at home after being dropped off. The drug dealer witnessed the cop killing those guys. Plus he was on drugs. The cop witnessed his ex set herself on fire. The last death was witnessed by the audience, so the next film is open to anyone in the crowd being the next story. It was a sensational movie. Just my opinion as I said. 👍
To be fair, i think Morris (if Morris was real, and i believe to some extent he was) was correct. The clinical death DOES technically loop the system. It was just never actually put into practice. The entity gives hope to create harsher trauma. There's no torture without moments of levity, since your body can get used to anything.
Were they capable of continuing with a transfered success of the Entity, yet perhaps allowing Sky to suddenly be resucitated later, coming back, eye patch and all, in order to entail such Protagonist moving onwards so as to continually seek to battle and eventually win over the seemingly unstoppable foe
In this movie you can see skylee after meeting morris (Er nurse guy who lost his brother figuring out how to kill this entity and told skylee he prepared everything just come with him today and kill that dark entity today or she will be completely unstable), as the dark entity is not just evil but also super smart it leaches on trauma to make host go completely insane , after learning the curse break plan entity kills her mother in most traumatic way possible then grips her mind completely to long ass dreamy/hallucinating state where it makes her think she can fight that entity on logical way i.e freezer/unbeating heart/ but in reality the supersmart entity brought the host to croud then converting the single cycle breakable curse to apocalyptic/pandemic curse ....wooh part 3 will be🔥🔥
The Entity's mistake was to use Skye, for getting maximum witnesses. Because it is easier to manipulate 1 Person, but if 5000 People can all see the Entity, they could work together to beat it.
Guys, the supernatural infection can maybe be defeated. There are moments where the host takes agency. It seems like it's super hard once the entity enters the person's mouth. It seems like it only does it once the host is worn out. I think the main character from the 1st movie actually put up a better fight.They faced their trauma head on and it seemed like it won.

Only thing I want to know is what actually happened? I loved the movie but after seeing her perfectly fine on stage did anything actually happen after witnessing the death? Gemma never being there was a twist that gutted me. I wasn’t a huge fan of Smile but Smile 2 is an instant classic for me. Most likable lead in years even with her personality flaws.
I think what we saw before she was attacked by the backup dancers in her apartment was mostly real, from that point on nothing was real and none of anything we see or hear can be trusted (up until she comes out of the shell thing at the concert anyway). We can't be sure about anything from the moment she was infected but it seems to gain strength, Gemma might have been real at the start (doubt it because she just disappeared for ages) and the guy trying to help her might have been real until when she runs out of the bar.

@@Mello_nation I think the scenes with Gemma were all when she was snapping out of it and the entity was giving her hallucinations or impeding her dreams/day dreaming thoughts that she was doing those things. Example: Gemma going out for coffee was the day afterwards (prob day 4/5) when the dancers attacked her in her apartment putting it’s hands down her throat (we know the entity enters inside the mouth from smile 1 with rose). By that time it took full control of her and caused the hospitalGemma with coffee/pizza scenes. She then escapes the over powering entity (she doesn’t because it has full control, shes in a thought cycle alternate reality). An then meets Morris (2nd time). However, Morris is the entity now and she is too late. That’s why before he leaves her inside the freezer he asks her why did she decide to come back? An other questions he didn’t need or want to ask the first meeting (before the entire full control). Once she gets to perform the entity lets her back into reality then kills her in front of the audience. As we see her Mom is back (she never died) all was fake and the reason Gemma wasn’t there is because she truly never met up with her. All the Gemma scene were fake since the start because of the fallout it used it against her to get stronger like it did with Paul Hudsons Murder.

Judging from the ending Smile 3 might end up being about humanity almost being wiped out due to the smile curse and demon killing half of Earth population.
I don't see the entity lasting much longer after the stunt it pulled of at the end.
It thrived when the victims were isolated, but now people will know it exists and find ways to defeat it. Thousands, millions may die, but government agencies will put an end to it, even if the methods won't exactly be humane.
Honestly that reminds me of the ring and the grudge, up to the 7 day rule and the near apocalyptic levels of victims the curse claimed (makes me wonder if there was some inspiration from the ring at least…)
It will only affect people with existing trauma. So far at least, that’s what the rule’s been. Plus the entity didn’t put itself. As far as people know, Skye went nuts and killed herself.

I feel like the monster has gotten stronger since Rose, the more it kills, the stronger and larger it gets. She totally lost control after day 3 with Morris and it seems she blacked out ever since the arm in her mouth. She didnt even get a full 7 days. Its definitely getting stronger, or maybe Sky just had so much trauma it literally thrived so much from it. When it killed her mom, and it turned out to be Sky that did it i was so blown away. And then to see it was all hallucinations is insane. Im excited for 3 rather its a prequel or not., although i seen his short film may be a prequel 👀

Movie Smile 3 based on how many people inherited the curse now. They can make it an amazing horrifying movie about thousands of people suffering like hell and the attempt to fight the demon or it’s gonna flop. This production crew knows what theyre doing though so they can make it great I’m sure
the smile demon isn’t getting stronger but people who’re more damaged emotionally and aren’t strong mentally die faster. Rose and the cop lasted 6 days. Sky Riley lasted 3 days because of her mental state.

I think everything was real up until the dance crew apartment sequence when the entities arm enters her mouth. The entity was in control and she took a backseat ride in her own mind/body torturing her until the concert. During the freezer scene it says “I like wearing your skin”.

I think that originally the story was written to have Skye 'kill' the demon by locking herself in the freezer. The production co wanted a rewrite to allude to a 3rd movie.
That's absolutely correct, it's real. There have been a leak for the original ending scripted and it was filmed. The original ending was removed because Paramount wanted more Smile sequels.
Probably the scariest movie I’ve ever seen. The acting was superb, and I highly recommend this to anyone who is a horror fan.

I’m 32 years old and it’s been so long since a movie shook me but this movie is crazy man. It’s sad because it’s what really happens during mental health issues. It’s like the combination of Freddy Kruger and IT. A shape shifting monster that is in your mind and torments you. I think Moris was also the entity.

I think the point of the movie is that there is no way to beat the Smile Entity, just like you can't automatically turn off schizophrenia if you have it or how a hallucinogenic doesn't lose its potency when someone realizes they are on it.
@@andrewbruskin6923they o ly way for the ole demon to lose is if it infected someone who has no contact with anyone for at least a week, Job vacation, sat in their bedroom all day in a house where no one knows their location, and to have at least some understanding of the demon and how they just got infected by seeing someone die in front of them. Joel had the best chance. I believe Morris has a good chance if he were to get infected.

So basically imo after the apartment scene where skyy had one of the dancers arms put down her throat (kinda like when the demon does this to the hosts near the end) it had full control. It knew she was probably gonna end up going to morris so that night with the dancers in the apartment everything after that was her being possessed by the entity it was showing her a false reality meanwhile using her body to keep up appearances and act normally

I think the entity is going on the offensive as a means of defense. It probably allowed Skye to go see what that guy in the bar has to say and went "YIKES!! He knows how to take me out", & so pulled that stunt on the concert to infect too many people for one guy to keep track off.
As for the trauma thing (the monster supposedly requiring people already suffering from trauma), I think witnessing what those audience members witnessed is traumatic enough, it will of course take a bit longer to break them down, but like with the cop (who faced no appreciable level of trauma before being infected) the entity will eventually break them and use them to spread.
Just my two cents.

My favorite part about this movie as a whole is that it doesn’t do the cliche “silent for 6 seconds then loud noise” jump scare. That shit literally is so corny and played out that it ruins basically every horror movie that’s come out in the last 4 years and ruined whole franchises like insidious. The jump scares are actually creative, still predictable in a sense but super creative so that the payout is you being genuinely creeped out instead of rolling your eyes

The feeling of dread the entire film just gets under your skin. You know it’s hopeless from the beginning and when the character feels some type of hope it’s even worse. And monsters don’t usually scare me but this one gave me the creeps! Easily one of the best horror films of the last decade or more.

Here’s my idea on how they can tackle the 3rd installment of Smile. If a 3rd movie isn’t created, maybe transitioning it to a sequel TV series can work since we learned that it has spread to so many people at the end of Smile 2. In order for this TV series to be successful, it needs to have the SAME director, producers, writers, and music composers to retain the same horrifying & creepy atmosphere that has already been built.
The Smile TV series can have 10-13 episodes with each episode focusing on a different person that got “infected” from the night they attended Skye Riley’s concert. Each episode will focus on their perspective & what they did to fight this parasitic entity with the time crunch that they had. Some episodes ending with some people being successful at beating this curse and some maybe not so successful. This allows for things to get more fleshed out considering the Smile demon has spread its curse to thousands of people. In the paranormal world you never know if you’re dealing with just 1 demon or 2 or 3 or maybe hundreds and thousands of them. This tv series would be an opportunity to maybe get some answers and some progression towards learning more about this entity.
Every celebrity has diverse fans from all over the world so each episode can focus on diverse characters coming from different backgrounds and maybe they can go as far as incorporating their cultural & religious beliefs into the mix into combating this demon. After this series, they can choose to continue it, or go back to movie format letting viewers know how to follow the order of the story in the Smile universe.
I’m curious. If you blind yourself with chemicals like alkali, could the smile demon still haunt you? since in the movies it seems to me that the smile demon heavily relies on you actually seeing the demon to in order to torment you doesn’t since it can’t physically hurt us

So I'm curious about something, it seemed like Skye was targeted by the entity because of her fame, so it could possess multiple people and make the chain larger, but I'm wondering if this was a repercussion of morris idea to end the chain, like when it became aware that his plan had the potential to work, it had to make the chain unbreakable. When it infects people, is it random, or does it somehow know the person it needs to infect for the greatest effect?
I like your theory. It kind of hard to say but i think regardless it wanted to use her to get more people. But after Morris plan definitely probably fueled it to do so.
I was just thinking that, but I considered that it would be unlikely for the entity to purposely target Skye, for it to be the master plan initially. I think the entity has to learn about people, and it's not omnipotent/all powerful. It only learns through the host probably. Remember it was Skye that contacted Luis not the other way around. So somebody would have stumbled across Luis eventually whether it had been her or not.
But you're right, it likely became more aggressive after the meeting with Morris. After that meeting it immediately attacked her before she could flee wherever she planned to go. Also note that the camera immediately turned sideways (vertical) when she flees from Morris. Implying things were off.

At that point it had been three days, @ronnie3613 pointed out the camera going sideways, which I completely missed...I think the point after that when she is ambushed by the entity in the form of her background dancers and put into the rehab facility is when everything became fake, morris included.

What my biggest question here is, what would happen if you try to stop the host from killing themself when they’re about to pass it on? Like at the beginning, what would that guy have done if she pulled that weight away from him before he could use it on himself? Would he have just gone to get it and tried again? Would he have killed her instead?
I feel like theoretically you could delay the host from passing on the curse by messing with them and making it intentionally difficult to pass it on. Even if it’s as simple as knocking what they are using out of their hand.

When the dancers get her at day four and shove their hand down her throat, she was done for. It showed her like rose that she could have saved someone or not kill someone and she did, everything after that was a personal hell it has her trapped in while she is being puppeted to the concert and it's so scary to think what she was doing or seemed like to everyone around her while this was happening, it made her seem OK enough to get there. It's so chilling.

You know what I would love, a cross over between Terrifier and Smile. I don’t know how or why Art and the Smile demon could exist together, but make it happen. I want to see a crossover between two villains that from a horror movie standpoint are on opposite ends of horror and the themes are just chaotically changing as on one end you have a serious problem with suicide and trauma, while on the other it is this goofy clown brutalizing everyone with a possible showdown being these two entities basically sick of each other for stealing their kills, and if the Smile demon can duplicate, then we can have a mob jump Art.

The "smile demon" ultimately sealed his own fate. Yes, he did it in front of many witnesses, as there wasn’t a rule limiting it to one person at a time-thus increasing his chances of being overpowered. Imagine if one of his victims were already a psychopath, suffered from dissociative identity disorder, or had a deeply disturbed mind. When the entity enters someone like that, it can't twist what's already twisted or break what's already broken.
Rather than simply curing or defeating the demon, who represents deep trauma leading to insanity or even suicide, there are people who manage to live with their trauma. The demon doesn't immediately destroy its host because it needs time to build them up-it isn’t about playing with its prey or following rules. The demon can be trapped in someone who doesn’t fear it.
It makes sense why morris left out the room while they were in the pizza freezer.. he didn’t want the evil entity to effect him.

I think it’ll be just one entity while leaving thousands of the other witnesses scarred for life. It’s interesting because many of those witnesses would have the same mental health symptoms as the host which would make it damn near impossible for Morris (if he was real, which I believe he was) to track down in order to stop it for good!
The finish of Smile 2 should again be her hallucination and she should survive at last. Hope Smile 3 will come soon.
Everything was fake after Meeting with Morris and the backup dancers sticking their hands down Skye's throat. In the first film, it is stated that each victim lasts four days to a week. And Morris tells Skye she's running out of time since she's on her third day. The demon prob realized Morris could defeat it, so it ensured Skye was hallucinating from onwards until her performance on stage.
I have a sneaky suspicion that Skye didn’t die. Her death could have been an illusion/a fabrication while Morris tries to bring her back to life. I think we will Skye in smile 3 but that’s my take on the film.

This movie was great minus the ending. I just didn’t like it. I wish they would have done something different. Still with the crowd but maybe changing how the entity looks. It just looked cgi-ish.
It was definitely a great movie and I agree with your point about the entity. I feel like the entity looked a lot better in Smile 1, the ending of this one felt like I was watching a dream. It was still fire tho 🔥
The entity has no other looks since that’s its true form. That would be like changing the look of Annabelle, like no. This is honestly a perfect ending because the creature perfectly set EVERYTHING up. The abandoned pizza place was like the backstage of the concert.
I think the purpose of making the entity way bigger was to show us that it has become a lot more powerful and has been eating really well lately.

They are close to the same but for truth or dare all you have to do is ask somebody else but for smile you have to kill somebody to pass it on
An amazing movie. A bit slow at times in the first half, but well worth it in the second half. I absolutely love how as the audience we don’t know what is real or not. Like, we still don’t even know if morris was even real!
It’s just an incredible way for the audience to truly understand in a way what the character is going through by undermining our understanding of the events that have transpired every step of the way, to the point where it could be argued that everything from the time of the curse transferring to the point where she was on stage could have all been a series of illusions to make Sky lose her mind.
An incredibly well done movie. This is how you do a sequel. Do what you did before, but better.
SPOILERS!: The ending absolutely shocked me, I thought that Skye could escape the curse through Morris stopping her heart then being resuscitated, then to realise it was all a hallucination was unbelievable. I think Morris was actually a real person as he texted Skye shortly after Lewis died, but the last real interaction she had with him was at the bar, and therefore Skyes last chance to stop the curse. I believe the entity at that point knew that Morris could actually stop it and thus went into overdrive with the visions of those people smiling at Skye's apartment, and because of all the trauma in her life she only lasted 4 days in the end. I'm so excited for Smile 3 and what the implications of the ending are, because so many now have the curse will it end up going global and killing thousands, maybe Morris sees this and tries to get everyone who was at the concert to do what he wanted Skye to do, they don't believe him and the situation gets worse.
Guy you are forgetting a crucial point. The professor kill himself in yhe middle of a class in the first movie. I don't think its gonna spread to many people.

This was definitely 1 of the scariest horror movies of the year hands down , it was so good , the creep scenes and jump scares and the actress herself Noami s actting ability was incredibe , an amazing horror movie that exceeded the 1st one
When she’s talking to morris she’s constantly getting phone calls. Her mom, her agent, her label and others. Obviously all these people aren’t constantly calling her so it was def the demon trying to get her away from talking to Morris which is cool. If only she’d listened to him earlier. Funny how it also doesn’t text her since it literally can’t.
Side note::: this woman is a bomb azz actress. She sold each and every scene. Shoutout to her. I don’t give out those type of accolades often.
I feel like if the curse spread to thousands of people it would just ruin the psychological horror aspect. No one believes one person who sees the entity, but if thousands of people see it, obviously you aren’t crazy and can come up with solutions.
i won’t lie Smile 2 was definitely better than the first.
My opinion is you can't beat the demon because there's no demon. It's all trauma. This trauma is about witnessing horrific things. While the victims have witnessed these things, they have also made bad choices that could have been avoided. There's a point where it's all happening in the mind. In this film. It's after the arm goes down her throat. The demon is just a clever way to make a good antagonist for visual purposes. It's like helping us understand what a schizophrenic goes through. In the first film, the doctor could have went home before seeing the patient. In this one, she should have stayed at home after being dropped off. The drug dealer witnessed the cop killing those guys. Plus he was on drugs. The cop witnessed his ex set herself on fire. The last death was witnessed by the audience, so the next film is open to anyone in the crowd being the next story. It was a sensational movie. Just my opinion as I said. 👍

To be fair, i think Morris (if Morris was real, and i believe to some extent he was) was correct. The clinical death DOES technically loop the system.
It was just never actually put into practice. The entity gives hope to create harsher trauma. There's no torture without moments of levity, since your body can get used to anything.

Were they capable of continuing with a transfered success of the Entity, yet perhaps allowing Sky to suddenly be resucitated later, coming back, eye patch and all, in order to entail such Protagonist moving onwards so as to continually seek to battle and eventually win over the seemingly unstoppable foe
If a smile 3 comes out then I think it will be taken more seriously to help the people and it would be nation wide.
In this movie you can see skylee after meeting morris (Er nurse guy who lost his brother figuring out how to kill this entity and told skylee he prepared everything just come with him today and kill that dark entity today or she will be completely unstable), as the dark entity is not just evil but also super smart it leaches on trauma to make host go completely insane , after learning the curse break plan entity kills her mother in most traumatic way possible then grips her mind completely to long ass dreamy/hallucinating state where it makes her think she can fight that entity on logical way i.e freezer/unbeating heart/ but in reality the supersmart entity brought the host to croud then converting the single cycle breakable curse to apocalyptic/pandemic curse ....wooh part 3 will be🔥🔥
The Entity's mistake was to use Skye, for getting maximum witnesses. Because it is easier to manipulate 1 Person, but if 5000 People can all see the Entity, they could work together to beat it.

This was the first time that in front of so many people the victim committed suicide. Why did the demon not do this before?
Guys, the supernatural infection can maybe be defeated. There are moments where the host takes agency. It seems like it's super hard once the entity enters the person's mouth. It seems like it only does it once the host is worn out.
I think the main character from the 1st movie actually put up a better fight.They faced their trauma head on and it seemed like it won.

Only thing I want to know is what actually happened? I loved the movie but after seeing her perfectly fine on stage did anything actually happen after witnessing the death? Gemma never being there was a twist that gutted me. I wasn’t a huge fan of Smile but Smile 2 is an instant classic for me. Most likable lead in years even with her personality flaws.
I think what we saw before she was attacked by the backup dancers in her apartment was mostly real, from that point on nothing was real and none of anything we see or hear can be trusted (up until she comes out of the shell thing at the concert anyway).
We can't be sure about anything from the moment she was infected but it seems to gain strength, Gemma might have been real at the start (doubt it because she just disappeared for ages) and the guy trying to help her might have been real until when she runs out of the bar.
@@retsaMinnavoiG I don’t think Gemma ever came back… either the texting never happened period or all them messages we saw of her texting with no response were real… the fact that she found out Gemma was fake during a long series of events we know didn’t happen makes be believe nothing was real after infection we lived in her delusional this movies… maybe we did in the first one too. This movie makes you question the first smile too.

The mom wasn’t really killed either so did the entity create the allusion of assistant bringing the sweater… did she actually meet the bother trying to help her?
@@Mello_nation I think the scenes with Gemma were all when she was snapping out of it and the entity was giving her hallucinations or impeding her dreams/day dreaming thoughts that she was doing those things. Example: Gemma going out for coffee was the day afterwards (prob day 4/5) when the dancers attacked her in her apartment putting it’s hands down her throat (we know the entity enters inside the mouth from smile 1 with rose). By that time it took full control of her and caused the hospitalGemma with coffee/pizza scenes. She then escapes the over powering entity (she doesn’t because it has full control, shes in a thought cycle alternate reality). An then meets Morris (2nd time). However, Morris is the entity now and she is too late. That’s why before he leaves her inside the freezer he asks her why did she decide to come back? An other questions he didn’t need or want to ask the first meeting (before the entire full control). Once she gets to perform the entity lets her back into reality then kills her in front of the audience. As we see her Mom is back (she never died) all was fake and the reason Gemma wasn’t there is because she truly never met up with her. All the Gemma scene were fake since the start because of the fallout it used it against her to get stronger like it did with Paul Hudsons Murder.
