It’s not a shapeshifter. It’s a spirit with no physical form. Everytime it interacts with the world, it’s only manipulating the victim’s mind. Skye never left the dressing room.
@@NyceDreamzOnly to the victim. It doesn't physically shape-shift. It just manipulates the person up until it kills them. That's the point they're making.
that the scary part. this demonic curse is so powerful it can control you the entire seven days while tormenting the victim and making sure it has one or multiple people ready to witness the curse and then proceeds to kill the victim on the final day after releasing them.
@@BlazeNarutoShippudenWhat was really scary was how it was texting her through the drug dealer. It had stars in its eyes. It knew she was famous and would make a good next victim. 🤩🤩
Me too, she what ? Girl I have talked to you on a year and wassup with these crazy ssa text messages? My heart stopped a bit ! Especially with her mom in the hospital room when face suddenly changed! I believe she was in the dressing room the whole time and she was hallucinating the whole time up until her tour opening because she had on the same dress
@@Aaliyahbaby19 that’s insaneee!!! I thought everything was real until the scene of the dancers in her house and one of them put the arm down her throat 🤔🤔 I was definitely confused when she ended up on stage but I didn’t even notice the same dress!! 🤯🤯
Everything was fake after Meeting with Morris and the backup dancers sticking their hands down Skye's throat. In the first film, it is stated that each victim lasts four days to a week. And Morris tells Skye she's running out of time since she's on her third day. The demon prob realized Morris could defeat it, so it ensured Skye was hallucinating from onwards until her performance on stage.
I like this theory. It's hard to believe the Entity could have taken Skye's mind completely from the very beginning, but it's also hard to believe anything that happened after she met Morris was real. I
@@boomerthomas4309i think it was cause of how weak skyes mind was and with everything going on with her. It couldn’t completely take over rose in the first movie till the end because maybe she was a psychiatrist and had coping mechanisms and less trauma
This is exactly what I think. She was taken by the entity immediately after meeting Morris. Everything afterwards was a delusion apart from the ending/death scene on stage. Before she messaged Morris we see the last thing posted in the message to Gemma was "you are a piece of shit" from a year ago, which reveals that she never actually messaged Gemma back at her apartment, the message asking Gemma to meet up with her was a delusion, hence why it doesn't exist as she is about to message Morris, this proves that at this point Skye is not under the influence of a delusion from the entity, she was actually messaging Morris, which hints the meeting at the bar is indeed real. Skye was pretty much broken by the entity by the ending of day 3, she had a far weaker will than the protagonist from the first film.
For me everything on the movie was a huge hallucination, after she saw Louis reflection on the mirror..the entire movie happened and she was just in her dressing room having thousands of nightmares…by the end she is wearing the same outfit from the beginning, so I believe that everything was in one day. ( maybe because her mind was weaker than others, I remember the explanation on the first movie)
Hah LMAO nice one never thought of that but nope she was just trying out the costume, can't jump to concert in just 1 day right by timeline. My take is she's on cruise control from day 4 > day 7 after meeting Morris. Hand in mouth & evil stuff taken control. . . Hallucinations 😬🫠😮💨
Another point to show Morris may have never existed: Skye took a picture of Morris and sent it to her friend (implied to be Gemma at this point). However later on she's texting Gemma and there's no text of a pic of Morris
Also did morris not claim to witness his brother taking his own life that would imply that he would have been takenover by the entity, however he's still alive and never claimed to be possessed
I'm sorry. I just don't see how a movie that does the exact same thing the first one one did, except because we already learned everything in the first movie we're two steps ahead of the protagonist the entire time, could possibly be called scary or smart. I think maybe a lot of people are calling the "twist" amazing, when it just came off to me as a cop out reason to get to the predictable ending that the premise of the sequel alone promises. If that ending halfway through the movie and we actually went a different direction or told a different story, I would be ecstatic. Instead we got a near 1 to 1 reread of the first movie with godawful pop music sprinkled in between scenes. Massive disappointment of a movie that may have a great lead performance, but does nothing new.
Morris could have been real. The hallucinations/entity could have been the phone calls trying to interrupt their conversation. It was all the important people trying to reach her.
@@juanjoseagramon8348 If I remember correctly, she goes to meet Morris after the event for underprivileged youth where she throws the old lady. I’d imagine the calls are from her team and related to that incident as they all try to figure what to do next.
I just wanna add a correction. Gemma said hi to Skye’s mom, but Elizabeth never said hi back. In fact, you learn for sure that Gemma was never there as when Gemma called while Skye’s in the car with fake Gemma she says she’s returning her original phone call because she didn’t know if she even wanted to talk to her. Skye asks “did you stay the night” and Gemma confirms she hasn’t been to her place in a year(when they last fought”. Gemma was never there. Every scene of Gemma we saw was the entity.
Thank you!!! I don't know why people are imagining a response from sky's mother🤣 I already had a strong feeling that Gemma was the Entity the moment she called back, but when sky didn't acknowledge Gemma at all despite sky's mom even recommending that Gemma was good for sky was a dead give away that Gemma wasn't actually there
@@TheBoyFromAngelsEggthey are in fact, not toned down. They were cranked up by 10x and are so horrifying. The first one was creepier as this one was fun and just scary as fuck.
Personally I think the jump scares were a bit cheaper? Like the first one didn’t rely too heavily on doing an instant jump cut but rather panning reveals. Girl in the window being an example. This one the jump scares just literally come out of nowhere. Didn’t ruin the film for me but I think the scares themselves had a bit more quality in the first one
fr def a lot more jump scares than the first, which was more creepy... I feel jump scares are a cheap way to make a movie "more scary" so wish it was more in line with the first
When you're just hoping the whole medical scenario was going to pan out as Skye's sight is blurring , just for the entity to come back into focus while giggling.... Welp..
Right it reminded me of the time I was trying to get out of a really bad nightmare by breathing heavily and shutting my eyes, then I opened them and I was still stuck in that nightmare
@@spaciousbratofficial there is one time, and I'm not joking, I woke up from a bad dream, but it was actually still a dream, I was waking up in my bed of my bedroom in my dream, and then something happened that I don't remember because it's too foggy, but it was literally freaky af! I felt for Rose when she died but I really felt ten times worse for Sky when it killed her too. I felt emotionally connected to her character because the actress did a good job at portraying trauma, hurt, & fear. I knew she wasn’t gonna make it tho.
The climax in Smile 2 happened in front of thousands of fans or even even millions who witnessed Skye Riley's death at the concert. That would mean there will be multiple cursed or smile entities running around in a third film. What do you think?
It wouldn't work through the screens, would that make Smile monster become so powerful that will transmit through signals, I have no idea. But so far it wouldn't work on beyond who has witnessed it personally. Unless the smile monster is like, nah I'd go one by one, thanks for the memories Skye Riley.
I wonder too if the smile entity can only pick a single individual, or is gonna jump from person to person for 1000+ times. I think it would prove to be too chaotic for the director to make an effective sequel with thousands of smile entities running around
I just believe only one person who’s traumatized the most will be affected since the curse feeds off of fear and trauma…what if people don’t have any trauma that they’ve experienced or are used to gory stuff?? What if they found it amusing watching skye die??
@@yogreeno1997 Yeah, do think like the smile monster get such a huge boost in power, that it's possible to multitask by letting them think that the only way to get rid of the curse is by killing someone and pass the curse onto the witness.
Yeah, Skye had a messed up life of a recovering popstar so the entity basically hit the jackpot. I do believe it took full control after the scene in the apt when they shove a hand down Skye's throat
Yea i believe projecting Gemma amed SKye let go of her guard so her mind was more open, which allowed her to get fully infected a bit sooner than others, And yes, the hand is what made her lose her mind fully (out of control)
Yeah, I kind of took that immediately into perception. I also believe that Morris was real, and what he told her at the bar was genuine and real. I feel that the entity didn't want to risk that chance of further association and her having a better chance at beating it. So that same night after she declined his offer, that's when the entity took full control with putting the hand down her throat to take full control. Always found that to be a strange coincidence of the entity doing that after she gained that information from morris. He also warned her he didnt have time left. Always do wonder would if she said yes and she'd would have actually been able to stand some sort of chance against it.
@Rosanens she definitely would've if she didn't decline. There had to be a reason why the smile entity went above and beyond with the hallucinations to break her down further immediately after she meets with Morris; it knew it couldn't risk another meeting.
@@Rosanens No, that was just another instance of the entity repeatedly testing her willpower and further breaking her down every which way until all she could do is give in to the 'Sublime' for the big finale. Morris was just a fabrication for her to have hope, only to have it taken away. Every time it 'went into her' it was texting to see how much of a fight she would put up. When she collapses on stage like a mere mortal in supplication to an overwhelming 'cosmic god'. That was the goal all along. Complete submission and obliteration of self in order for it to fully 'wear' her.
@thedarkcloakartist Then, genuine question: How would you speculate Morris actually being able to text her, though? We've seen from both Lewis and Gemma how the entity doesn't really communicate through text since Gemma stated she never got the messages and always contacted skye through call, and with Lewis, the entity only used to communicate via emoji. With Morris, they had a normal brief conversation.
in the hospital her mother says the doctors ran tests you were severely dehydrated. I feel like the director was playing up all the scenes of her drinking water so when her mother says that to her it’s the director winking at us saying this is in her head She would down water anytime something stressed her out long before she ever got infected so we know that’s real no way she could have been severely dehydrated But I’m just fan boying out here what you think
@@p3archil313 no it definitely played a role in the movie. sure it was voss product placement but there’s no way all of that was just for advertisement

Yes, I don't remember the mom acknowledging her in any way, Gemma says "Hi Elizabeth". I would want to see the scene again to even see if the mom made eye contact with her.
Skye’s mom mentioned that she should call Gemma. I would think that had Gemma been real, Elizabeth would have greeted Gemma with some sort of excitement, or made some comment about, “well at least you two made up,” when Skye was late to rehearsals.
I feel like everything after the scene in the dressing room where the pop star is criticizing the outfit she's wearing for exposing her scar is one giant hallucination. I think her insecurity over people seeing the scar triggered a mental spiral down the rabbit hole which the entity exploited to maximum effect. While she does ultimately go through with performing on stage with the outfit, the fact that the monster reveals itself by tearing open the scar may represent how mortified she feels that her personal secrets have been laid bare for all to see.
Yea it knew she didn’t like that dress and still had her wear it onstage ! The part with Gemma not being real the whole time up until the car scene and Gemma called her phone ! The scene with her mother in the hospital when her face shifted had me jump
Bingo. I am with you on this. Very sound explanation. After leaving the theater I was really trying to figure out how much was not real. I am not a big fan if this type of plot. It feels like a cop out/ waste of time " oh it was just a dream" it feels lazy.
But she was TRYING on the outfit. No way you try on an outfit for a concert the next day😂. It was at least a few days after. I say when the hand was shoved down her throat is when it all became a hallucination
@@michaelweathers1853 It was all a hallucination pretty much shortly after she left Lewis' apartment. Sure, maybe some real world truth leaking through but I'd say most of what we saw was all in Skys head and we were stuck in there with her - the only things being 'real' were the opening scenes up until shortly after Lewis' death, and then the big public finale at the very end, where realities collide and culminate in her smiling at the audience etc. She was too good an opportunity and perfect host to pass up and the entity knew it right away. But now we have 10's of thousands of people infected with it. Instead of just 1 on 1.
It's pretty clear that everything after she wakes up in the hospital is hallucination. She gets surrounded by the crowd in the apartment, which is the last scene before the vision. I think everything else after she receives curse is debatable. It's grown on me. I like the og better at 1st but the 2nd one has become fav.
I figured everything after Skye's first dress fitting that shows her scar was a hallucination up till her final performance stabbing herself in the eye
This is what I believe actually happened. I don’t believe anything after the dress showing the scar happened. It may cheapen things for some if “it was all a dream” but I don’t think so.
@@YoungLindothings did happen after the dressing room because she was just trying her new dress and practice for the tour, she wasn’t on the tour yet so it makes sense that she went on for a few days and then actually lost it when the entitity stuck it’s arm into her at her appartment with all the dancers after she met Morris.

I didn’t know how this movie would pan out after watching the first. I REALLY enjoyed it. I had a feeling regarding the Gemma arc, but it was a cool revelation at the end.
That being said my friend I mean it was predictable from the trailer this is how movies are Hollywood is disappointing when it comes to the movies today
Thats why i will only watch a trailer once. Usually while distracted so i dont pick up every detail. End was predicatable but i enjoyed ambiguity of reality which trauma, guilt, depression or anxiety can distort. I think the 1st one has less flaws but the acting, cinematography, and execution were all solid. I hate a lot of things about modern Hollywood but horror is the only genre that is allowed for some creativity. Terrfier 3 was fun in the opposite way. @zerox23454
I don't think the entity shapeshifts i think it just makes the person hallucinate whatever it wants. Because her friend was never there as she revealed when she called her and skye was actually driving the car the whole time by herself. I can only surmise that the person possessed completes actions on autopilot while also hallucinating simultaneously. I remember in the first smile when the protagonist killed a cat and put it in a box for the kids birthday but they never showed it and she had no recollection of doing it.
That time when Skye was texting with Lewis. He didn’t remember texting with her at all which could also be autopilot or the entity taking some kind of "early" control to choose the new victim. The entity stated how valuable Skye was for it
Gemma was a hallucination the entire time. The "interaction" with Gemma and Skye's mom only shows Gemma saying hi to her, the mother never addresses Gemma. When Skye's mom enters her apartment, she only talks to Skye and scolds her for being late. There's a lot of really cool subtle details once we learn that the entire final act of the movie was one big hallucination
The entity was so smart to pose as Gemma and then act like the entity at night, and act like it was really Gemma when skye woke up afterwards. The only issue is when her mom came by Gemma said hi to her? Her mom didn’t question why Gemma was there though or act surprised since it would’ve been the first time in a year which was a bit odd. Unless the entity was already playing her mom too
Gemma says hi to the mom but the mom never acknowledged Gemma, implying she wasn’t real. Also most likely everything past the dressing room scene is a hallucination.
4:07 gemma greeted skyes mom, while skyes mom ignored her which tells the viewers that she isn't real from the start. Also skyes mom wanted her and gemma to reconcile so badly so her not saying anything about it or acting surprised by seeing her also tells us that shes a hallucination. i don't think the demon is able to control what others see only the people its manipulating
@ I agree, I think whoever made this already knew there would be comments correcting him that’s why he said “it’s all up to the viewers interpretation” or wtv
I think everything was real until the smile entity first entered Skye's mouth in her apartment because after that scene was the hospital scene. And if we can agree that everything that happened with her mom in the hospital was a hallucination, then escaping, running away with Gemma, and going to Morris were all a continuation of the hallucinations. If the Smile entity can pull off elaborate hallucinations for Skye, I think it also faked that phone call in the car posing as the "real Gemma" only to freak Skye out more.
No the phone call was real, she said she haven’t seen her in a year and asked her about the weird text messages! Matter fact that wasn’t even a real Gemma in the beginning when she opened the door the thing grew so powerful to manipulate her! You remember when Louis the drug dealer said he didn’t remember he text sky to come over and then sky told Gemma in the apartment she forgot she text her too?! That was a demonic Gemma the whole time ! From when she woke up from the nightmare next to her and when she woke up that was still the entity betraying to be her! On the phone sky even ask Gemma did she come to her place the real Gemma on the phone said NO! She haven’t saw her in a year ! A few of you have to go back and rewatch
There's a moment during the apartment crowd scene in which one of the smile demons puts his arm down Skye's throat. I think this is the moment when the entity assumes full control, and everything that happens after that is in Skye's head.
This shit makes me want a movie about the one dude that was able to pass the curse along because everyone else that tried that failed. I want to see how he succeeded.
I believe the entity claimed skylar the moment she saw the figure behind her in the mirror....it claimed her so quick because her mind was already so broken
I think that scene, gemma and skye's mom are actually hallucination cause it connected to the stage rehearsal, dressing room that were trashed and the hospital Her mom in the real scenes is the beginning of the movie, well after the drug dealers and car accident where she was in the car with skye and her friend The second scene that was real is the photoshoot where skye sees the dead guy in the mirror and that was a little hallucinating then it vanished and the part where she said that she hated the dress, that's real........I think 🤔
My personal theory: Everything up until Skye meeting Morris/going back to her apartment to see her dancers is real. Once one of the dancers puts their arm down her throat, from then on it's all a hallucination until the demon puts Skye back in the driver seat on stage just to fully take control and end her life.
I'm inclined to think Morris was real the first time. It would be weird for him to reveal exactly how to kill it and finish the curse once for all if it was the entity itself. Even if it was going to kill Skye, she could have written or pass down the information. Also when she is talking to him at the bar, she keeps ignoring calls from her mom, Darius, PR, basically everybody. I think it's the entity trying to distract her from Morris.
The theories in this video is an absolute madness. The smile entity cannot appear infront of others who are not affected by the curse. This point is reiterated multiple times in the 1st movie 🤦♂️
Her mom did not acknowledge gemma in that scene with the matcha and after my rewatch i fully can confirm this! Her mom doesnt even say anything to gemma when she storms in, yes she was upset but her mom wanted gemma around all we got was gemma speaking to skye’s mom but no shot of her returning the greeting
Actually pretty sure when the fans cornered her in the bar with Morris they said "who's that guy she's with" so Morris was real, he could've just been a random guy though minding his business and skye came up like a crack addict and started talking about all this freaking out and imagined him saying the stuff back to her, could be a stretch but it's a better theory tbh
I really enjoyed this movie a lot more than expected, I’m excited for smile 3. The way they lure you into a sense of safety just for a jump scare is done so greatly in this movie.
4:57 Skye's mom didn't greet Gemma; Gemma just said hi, and there was no dialogue between her and Skye's mom, which was unusual as Skye's mom was very eager to reunite the two friends.
Watching it the second time was way more fun because the demon low key has a sense of humor. Like pretending to be the assistant and forcing her to ask her for “surprise soda”, knowing full well she’s freaking out because she thinks just killed her mom? That’s funny
There's so many clever symbolism in this movie that I'm starting to think I might be overanalyzing it. The scene where she was pestered by the fly during her tour showcasing her being troubled and annoyed by the problem she's facing. And another one, while not a direct symbolism, in the ending where she opens up her scar to reveal the monster. I think it might have been a way to tell that she's reopening her old would, and that's what would killed her. ALSO ALSO, the scene where she was surrounded by those Smile guys and had her hair ripped out off. We know her self coping method is pulling her hair, and the entity is NOT physical. Its only in her mind. It's shown various of times that she just hallucinates the entity and later reveal that she's the one doing it. So during that scene, she was actually using her OWN self coping mechanism.
I’m not sure about the ending with so many people getting infected. You’ll lose the intimate storytelling you can only get by following a single character.
I love this series I love the way the novice connects you with the main character You feel as though you’re slowly losing your mind too. Never knowing what’s real and what isnt
I don't think she hallucinated that all on the same day. When you compare her makeup look when Louis appeared behind her compared to her makeup look at the ending, her makeup is different, as in the ending her eyeshadow is yellow compared to the spiky blue eyeshadow in the dressing room. I believe the moment she "contacted Gemma" was when she began to hallucinate everything. The hallucinations couldve mixed with her actual reality similar to Rose's experience, and then from when the smiling dancers "attacked her" and she fainted to her coming out on stage was one big hallucination that spanned across the rest of the week.
I watched it today at the Regal Movie Theater RPX reclined seats so you know the sounds were elevated. The movie was creepy af in a good way, had me squinting my eyes during the really scary mental creature's that showed up.
This movie is like Inception or the multiverse… to a point, everything is meaningless if we can’t figure out what we watched is a dream, hallucination or alternate reality…
My take on this is most of the movie have been a hallucination. Remember the demon uses broken/traumatized persons to play on their weakness only to weaken them to the point of him being able to posses them. I believe the scene with her in the costume she wanted to change was her last time in reality. Because the end the demon told her nothing is real told her break a leg ( meaning she was back stage) and closed the door. Which showed her in the same costume. She was now weak enough to be possessed. It also led her to Lewis at the beginning. Lewis couldn't recall texting her. The demon also said it have been waiting for her for some time. Another scene that stood out to me that she was hallucinating was when she was forced to make the appearance speech, why wasn't her mom and crew there to help her when she was having difficulty which u can see at the end her mom and crew seems very supportive of her. The guy that asked her to make the speech was disappointed but when he saw her leaving the private hospital he was still happy with a bouquet of flowers for her as if she didn't spoil his event. Then there's Skye's mom not making eye contact or any form of communication with Gemma which we all know now wasn't real.
the opening scene was great. and i didnt know who naomi was until this, but i wanna see what else she can do. i thought she was awesome. like even in her characters own words, she wasnt a great person, however she wasnt super hate-able. actually the opposite, especially with the drug abuse and the chaos that brings to your life. and you've made it back to you're feet and now youre just trying to keep everything together. its hard being stuck in your own head. idk bout anyone else but i thought this one was amazing.
Here’s 2 OBVIOUS indications that Morris isn’t real: 1: Skye takes a picture of him and sends it to Gemma but later on, that picture is nowhere to be found in their text chat. 2: Even if we consider Morris had been following the curse, there is NO WAY he would’ve known who it was passed to after Joel. Joel went “off grid” when he was cursed. So we can assume nobody was following him in the opening scene. Later, we see Lewis - he’s not in jail and he’s not in trouble. Which means he didn’t stick around the accident and the house that was full of drugs, money, guns, and two victims of m**der. Lewis fled and didn’t tell anyone. That’s all to say, nobody knew Lewis was at that house and that’s why nobody, except for the entity, would know that Lewis was cursed. PLUS: The entity is “convenient”. Like how convenient is it that Gemma calls Skye back immediately? Or gets to her place so quickly. What’s more convenient: Morris walking into Lewis’ condo, immediately after Skye gets cursed and finding her number through his locked phone. Or how he’s just on-deck with a spot to meet. No way.
my personal theory is that skye´s mother elizabeth was never abusive, it was the entity using skye's own insecuritys to make her thing her mother doesn´t really love her and she wants her death, when we can see during the final scene that elizabeth actually cares about her
I believe, first meet with morris is REAL. Hallucinations start at her home when she being attacking by group of smile dancers and one of them put hand onto her mouth. Afterwards hallucinations happen until the end... Everyone keep saying hallucinations happen from the start when skye at wardrobe because of the same clothes. For me skye just only trying her clothes for real show next time. Look at details her make up in front of mirror, make up at her eyes is totally different at the last. And Genma confirmation "and what the hell with the weird text? " its shows Skye having text her(Genma) in 3 different time & places - Skye house, charity fundraising (Darius) and picture of Morris at cafe. All of 3 scene happen after scene Skye Infront Of Mirror Skye getting attacked by group dancers at house is real place while hallucination (her mental state in between real and unreal. And I believe she in state of fully hallucination afterwards, hospital is unreal, killing mom is unreal, genma driving is unreal, meeting 2nd time to morris is unreal, smile demon manipulated her until right time : in a real concert date. (maybe day 4th / 5th)
This would have all been avoided if Sky only new about the ring trap sinks have. She could have gotten the Vicodin out and avoided going to that infected drug dealer.
Most things I've seen have said everything was a hallucination after the backup dancers reach down her throat, but one other scene is a weird choice if that's true. When Skye and Gemma wake in the morning and she flipping out because she's late, her mom arrives. While Skye is out of the room, Gemma says hi Elizabeth to her mom. The entity doesn't talk to anyone else because they can't see it. And even if the mom was there and didn't hear the hello, Skye wasn't in the room anymore, so per filmmaking, that scene was real and for the audience and not in Skyes head. If it was a hallucination, then it was just sloppy filmmaking to trick the audience.
@zizojaezekeom3565 They show it for the audience, not for Skye. And the entire scene in the car when she gets the phone call from Gemma is also a hallucination, so the phone call is also not real. Gemma did answer and come over before. Everything from the scene being attacked by the backup dancers to the point of dying on stage was not real.
The are two 180-degree camera rotations in the movie outlining the real and hallucinations frontier. If you've seen Perfect Blue from Satoshi Kon, you'll find some clues about what is really happening.
4:56 I thought this too so went back and rewatched the scene. Gemma said hello to Elizabeth but Elizabeth didn’t say anything back which was one of the first hints that Gemma isn’t real, you would think Elizabeth would be really excited to see Gemma based on previous dialogue but she doesn’t say a word back to Gemma
when the movie was over me and my friends spent a good 30 minutes outside in the parking lot theorizing about the events in the movie, thats how yk its a good movie, when it really makes you think
Bro I’m telling u after the moment when she complained abt not wearing the outfit, everything was a hallucination cuz even when gemma greeted the mom she didn’t acknowledge her in anyway. Bro really went all out for her
the question here lies with. does really "SMILE" truly kill its host after 7days? I think the hallucination truly manifest during the scene where the "protagtim" is wearing the butterfly tights.
Both main characters in pt 1 & 2 did not listen when their loved ones told them to get rest . Pt 1 the psychological doctor overworked herself and was told to go home and get rest but she intended to work and got introduced to the entity. Pt 2 they asked her to go straight to bed but she intended to go to the drug dealer . They both had a choice but didn’t Listen! The evil entity grew to big and will multiply but I believe either her mother or one of the thousands of people in the audience will do their homework on sky and see the truth in her demise and put a stop to the demonic ending but I’m afraid before that happens it will spread and ppl lives will be at stake ! They will have to put an immediate stop to it! It gotten to big and powerful
The scariest scene was the sequence in that freezer. The way she was so far from Skye and then BOOM! Appears right in front of her scared me so bad it managed to make me jump and nearly spill my drink. Then those eyes... Another one was when she was being surrounded. The way they all looked was horrifying.
This is where the concept of the smile demons powers are hard to explain because as each day goes by the hallucinations to the victim becomes more real and real, and the concept of time is skewed so it’s really hard to tell what and where was real
I loved how it made refferences to the first movie. I enjoyed the first more because i really liked the mistery solving plot. This movie was more of a character's personal drama ,but it was good too.
I'm pretty sure the whole movie is a hallucination or at the very least after the first night which would explain why her mother is still alive and why she's about to play her musical show, all of it was to mess with her enough to be able to take over her while keeping the "real" skye normal until the show begins to then afflict itself to over 30k+ people.
It was has her hallucinating the whole time! From the beginning her friend wasn’t there that was a demon ! The car scene when she called sky phone , sky asked her did she ever come to her place Gemma said NO, she even asked her what was up with the weird text messages? And said they haven’t seen each other in a year since the argument they had
Smile 2 sets up the bar really high.Smile 3 can have a happy ending, enabling us to believe that this near apocalyptic situation isn't hopeless. But if they do it? They got to be careful that smile 4 don't become another resident evil with useless scares over the top action.
if there really is such a thing as an evil spirit that torments people mentally, it's very hard to think that it would be very different from the one in this film. This is EXACTLY what it would likely do!
- Obviously, Lewis' death is real, it's how the entity got Skye in the first place. - You never actually answered if Morris is real or not which is the most questioned out of the entire film. - The film literally devotes a scene to Gemma straight up saying she never showed up at Skyes apartment and hasn't spoken to her since their fight. - Skye obviously didn't kill her mom because her mom is seen in the crowd at the show, as you mentioned.
Gemma was always a hallucination. You know because of that suv scene, the real Gemma calls when the hallucination was driving. Morris was real but there was no syringe. Mom was never killed because she is alive at the end concert.
@@thomasraines1396no ,Gemma was a evil entity THE WHOLE TIME when sky called her the first time to apologize and she came over sky didn’t even remember she texted her and she kept asking the demon Gemma an hour? That thing was so powerful it fcked up their whole thinking process! Gemma was NEVER in that apartment with her from when she open the door for that THING till when she woke up from a nightmare and the demon was still there that wasn’t real ! That PHONE CALL was REAL ! When the real Gemma called her and said “I haven’t talked to you in a year “ and sky even asked her did she even come to her place ? So to be honest skyyy never left her dressing room because remember her mom asked her can she keep the dresss on sky didn’t want to because of the dress showing her scar from the car accident! The evil entity still brought her onstage at the end with that same dress on that she didn’t want ! Everything up until then was hallucinations. You gotta go back and watch it again 😅
@@zizojaezekeom3565 the call and the entire ending at the Pizza Hut was fake. As for the messages and even Moriss himself, I’m not entirely sure on. How I’ve seen the situation is that everything after the scene where Skye refused to wear the dress that showed off her scar was fake.
Crucial point about Gemma and Skye’s mother, Gemma greets her in Skye’s apartment “hi [Skye’s Mothers Name]”, but she does not greet her back; so presumably cannot see her.
Exactly, the Mom knew that it had a been a looong time since Skye and Gemma spoke, so the Mom would have at least said like "how have you been Gemma" or something. You don't completely ignore someone that you haven't seen in ages like that. Gemma was not visible to the Mom. Case closed.

Skye was pretty much broken by the entity by the ending of day 3, she had a far weaker will than the protagonist from the first film.
still can’t get over the fact that dr taub from house md locked her in a pizza hut freezer 😭
It was all hallucinations after Morris
For me everything on the movie was a huge hallucination, after she saw Louis reflection on the mirror..the entire movie happened and she was just in her dressing room having thousands of nightmares…by the end she is wearing the same outfit from the beginning, so I believe that everything was in one day. ( maybe because her mind was weaker than others, I remember the explanation on the first movie)
I agree with this wholeheartedly.
Yup Joel was the strongest he resisted for six days and would have successful passing the curse to Lewis if it wasnt for the tragic accident.

Pretty sure they mentioned it only takes one victim at a time
@@yogreeno1997 Yeah, do think like the smile monster get such a huge boost in power, that it's possible to multitask by letting them think that the only way to get rid of the curse is by killing someone and pass the curse onto the witness.

@@boomerthomas4309 They were real. I wasn’t talking about Skye. I meant that Lewis had kinda been possessed by the entity and made him answer to Skye.
Unless the entity was already playing her mom too
She was already gone by then, it’s all an illusion
Gemma says hi to the mom but the mom never acknowledged Gemma, implying she wasn’t real. Also most likely everything past the dressing room scene is a hallucination.

Marvelous has fallen off man. I am disappointed.

The mom didnt greet her, she greeted the mom and there was no response, so I'm pretty sure Gemma never even responded to the txt

I literally was about to post the exact same comment at the exact same timestamp that is funny
A few of you have to go back and rewatch
best horror movie of the year for sure, had me second guessing every scene and the plot twists were perfect!!
4:30 Gemma actually greeted the mom. But we never saw the mom Acknowledge it. Leading to believe it was all in skyes head
Skye’s mother didn’t actually greet Gemma. The scene ended with Gemma greeting Elizabeth, she never replied.
I think that scene, gemma and skye's mom are actually hallucination cause it connected to the stage rehearsal, dressing room that were trashed and the hospital
Her mom in the real scenes is the beginning of the movie, well after the drug dealers and car accident where she was in the car with skye and her friend
The second scene that was real is the photoshoot where skye sees the dead guy in the mirror and that was a little hallucinating then it vanished and the part where she said that she hated the dress, that's real........I think 🤔
My personal theory: Everything up until Skye meeting Morris/going back to her apartment to see her dancers is real. Once one of the dancers puts their arm down her throat, from then on it's all a hallucination until the demon puts Skye back in the driver seat on stage just to fully take control and end her life.
Smile 3 definitely needs to happen 😂🔥🔥
You mean SMIL3

Choppy editing, but just the video I was looking for and good overall. I have been wondering what scenes were real and which were hallucinations.
We need Sam and dean to take care of this curse they’ll figure out what’s wrong
4:06 Skye's mother never greets Gemma, she never even acknowledges Gemma is in the room. Gemma says hi to her Mom but she doesn't respond to her.
The whole theatre jumped bro lol that film was wild
I really enjoyed this movie a lot more than expected, I’m excited for smile 3. The way they lure you into a sense of safety just for a jump scare is done so greatly in this movie.
I think the see-through custume helps to explain that since the dress fitting event, everything is hallucinations until the last scene.
💯💯💯💯💯
cant be since the dressing room scene was like a week before her tour started
4:57 Skye's mom didn't greet Gemma; Gemma just said hi, and there was no dialogue between her and Skye's mom, which was unusual as Skye's mom was very eager to reunite the two friends.
I'd say, the headlight scene and the hospital room scene still haunts me to this day
Watching it the second time was way more fun because the demon low key has a sense of humor. Like pretending to be the assistant and forcing her to ask her for “surprise soda”, knowing full well she’s freaking out because she thinks just killed her mom? That’s funny
The jump scares we’re way better than the first one
I honestly think the sequel in general lost the intimacy of the first film. With a big personality like Skye that was inevitable.
It was messed up, but it's good
I love this series
I love the way the novice connects you with the main character
You feel as though you’re slowly losing your mind too.
I agree. Inception as awesome though. Wasn't too satisfied leaving the theater after Smile 2 though.
They knocked it out of the PARK with this one, excellent acting from Naomi Scott, that was wild.
It was just amazing! Got me screaming lol
Here’s 2 OBVIOUS indications that Morris isn’t real:
1: Skye takes a picture of him and sends it to Gemma but later on, that picture is nowhere to be found in their text chat.
No way.
Skys mom never greeted Gemma, "Gemma" greeted Skys mom, but didn't even acknowledge that Gemma was even there
Thanks for the Video!
my personal theory is that skye´s mother elizabeth was never abusive, it was the entity using skye's own insecuritys to make her thing her mother doesn´t really love her and she wants her death, when we can see during the final scene that elizabeth actually cares about her
I believe, first meet with morris is REAL.
All of 3 scene happen after scene Skye Infront Of Mirror
Skye getting attacked by group dancers at house is real place while hallucination (her mental state in between real and unreal. And I believe she in state of fully hallucination afterwards, hospital is unreal, killing mom is unreal, genma driving is unreal, meeting 2nd time to morris is unreal, smile demon manipulated her until right time : in a real concert date. (maybe day 4th / 5th)
Such a good movie one of the best horror films I’ve seen in a while
You should watch talk to me by a24 productions
You should watch talk to me by a24 productions
This would have all been avoided if Sky only new about the ring trap sinks have. She could have gotten the Vicodin out and avoided going to that infected drug dealer.
Seriously!
I said the same thing in the theater 😂
Sky isn't deaf so the entity was tricking her
@zizojaezekeom3565 They show it for the audience, not for Skye. And the entire scene in the car when she gets the phone call from Gemma is also a hallucination, so the phone call is also not real. Gemma did answer and come over before. Everything from the scene being attacked by the backup dancers to the point of dying on stage was not real.
Best part in the whole movie when her "dance partners" started surrounding her.
I found it more frustrating than anything else
Bro I’m telling u after the moment when she complained abt not wearing the outfit, everything was a hallucination cuz even when gemma greeted the mom she didn’t acknowledge her in anyway. Bro really went all out for her
the question here lies with.
does really "SMILE" truly kill its host after 7days?
I think the hallucination truly manifest during the scene where the "protagtim" is wearing the butterfly tights.
it never really was 7 days, it just says within 1 week but judging by how unstable Skye already is, the demon probably had the easiest to mess her up
Skye's mom did NOT acknowledge Gemma. Watch the scene again.
That was the first thing I picked up from the beginning of the movie. They both were disobedient, had she listened she'd be alive.
Good point! Going to bed is very important! Lol
The scariest scene was the sequence in that freezer. The way she was so far from Skye and then BOOM! Appears right in front of her scared me so bad it managed to make me jump and nearly spill my drink. Then those eyes...
Another one was when she was being surrounded. The way they all looked was horrifying.
I felt that after she meet that dude in the bar everything after was too late for her
This is where the concept of the smile demons powers are hard to explain because as each day goes by the hallucinations to the victim becomes more real and real, and the concept of time is skewed so it’s really hard to tell what and where was real
No, Elizabeth didn't respond to Gemma when they are in their apartment. So she didn't see her.
I loved how it made refferences to the first movie. I enjoyed the first more because i really liked the mistery solving plot. This movie was more of a character's personal drama ,but it was good too.
Smile 2 was phenomenal and I haven't even seen it but I hope it's a 3rd one the first two are amazing 😂😊
I feel like the entity was cheating
It was has her hallucinating the whole time! From the beginning her friend wasn’t there that was a demon ! The car scene when she called sky phone , sky asked her did she ever come to her place Gemma said NO, she even asked her what was up with the weird text messages? And said they haven’t seen each other in a year since the argument they had
Yeah, it's a cheating bastard, on top of being busted. Rather frustrating, when you think about it.
The sad and frightening part is when skye injected herself painfully to get the demon away but it was just a false hope
Many jump scares & almost piss my pants for the dancer scene this is like the most horrifying horror movie in recent years 😅😅❤
Smile 2 sets up the bar really high.Smile 3 can have a happy ending, enabling us to believe that this near apocalyptic situation isn't hopeless.
The call with Gemma was fake as well, Morris - or at least the entire scene at the Pizza Hut - was fake.
@@thomasraines1396no ,Gemma was a evil entity THE WHOLE TIME when sky called her the first time to apologize and she came over sky didn’t even remember she texted her and she kept asking the demon Gemma an hour? Because it took her an hour to get there , fast forward to Louis (drug dealer) saying he forgot he texted sky to come over in the first place ! THE REAL Gemma on the phone said NO and asked her what was up with the weird ssa text messages?! That THING manipulated her the whole time up until her tour opening .
@@thomasraines1396Morris is real since he was recognized when he first met her but the text messages and the pizza hut scene idk
