Welcome to Lake Naivasha, Kenya! As I continued making my way back toward Nairobi, I stopped by this lakeshore to enjoy a delicious East African fish lunch! Come with me on an African street food adventure like no other at Lake Naivasha, Kenya!
Joining me on this adventure, as always, are my guides from Kumbukumbu Tours and my trusty friend and cameraman Tasos Karantakos.

FRIED TILAPIA: We started with a meal of fried tilapia, ugali, and kachumbari. First, we watched them scale and clean the fish, and then the frying and vegetable prep. The meal was great, even though the fish was bony. I loved the cilantro in the kachumbari and the starchy ugali with it.
FISH MARKET: We briefly toured the area’s fish market, where a few women were cleaning tilapia and catfish.
MOUNT KENYA GURIO SHOP: Here, we met a kind woman selling beautiful, high-quality handicrafts, including animal figurines, clothing, coasters, handbags, jewelry boxes, hats, and scarves. I bought several souvenirs for people in my life before we continued back to Nairobi!

I cooked Talipia on Good Friday, fried fish brings out the best flavors though it may not be the healthier method. I am enjoying the first song in the background from the Zouk Band Kassav, Caribbean music in kenya yeah.

Happy Monday David. Another short but nice video. Something very fishy here🤣🤣🤣. I am surprised you didn't say anything when he showed you that 'thing' and told you it was a male fish. LoL. I bought tilapia once that was already cooked from a Chinese take out and it was horrible. No seasoning and I believe it was farmed. This one looked delicious though with the ugali and kachumbarie. We used to mix Guinness with condensed milk. Tasted so good. Maybe you should try it David. You sure know how to haggle because the lady gave you a deal and you still got a gift too. How nice of her and she knew how to get your attention. Sam and Tasos are really good traveling companions because they are having fun too. So now it's on to Nairobi. See you there.🤗

Bro how can you go to Lake naivasha without going on a boat ride on the lake? Thats why most folk go to Naivasha for the boat ride and hippo viewing. Man!!. What an opportunity lost. You would have seen the hippos and lake eagles that fly down from trees to catch the fish and the lake is breath taking just riding on a boat

Love Tilapia but stopped eating it due to fish farms are not safe.. Would love to have it right from lake. I miss fishing used to fish clean cook fish right on the spot . I bet that food was delicious. Oh I want some of that Guinness :) I am Irish big time and love that stuff. Try Guinness and Pear cider (half of each) called bruised pear its fantastic. Like you need to worry about getting fat David LOL.. You eat still remain Slender :P I have a few ceramics and Ebony Elephant Carvings also Carved stones from Kenya. All hand made.
