    Good morning David: from what I see in this video, the people are healthy and happy. For all the people (celebrities) who visit Africa, I wonder what parts they go to because they don't show us places like these villages. For a little while you were the Pied Piper of Hamelin with all those children following you. Nice to see Tasos having so much fun. You are showing us how the other half lives. You could have gone somewhere posh and well developed, but with what's going on in the world today, who needs to see that. Life is what you make it and happiness is how you live it, whether you are rich and privileged or poor and underprivileged. So you are giving us a unique perspective of life in certain areas of Africa. Job well done. I know some people will criticize you as they have already done but they really don't understand what your mission is. So keep doing what you are doing. Safe travels and may God always watch over you, and guide you, and protect you wherever you go. 🙏🤗💛🇹🇹🇨🇦

      Judy bless you and thank you so much. I am wishing you a peace filled weekend and your support means a lot to me. SO glad to know you are enjoying the series and to be fair everybody has their opinion and I try my best to hear their concerns and make adjustments in the future to be sensitive to their feelings. I would never want to censor them or get mad about people's genuine concerns. I hope my responses were able to clarify things a bit from my side since I took the time to respond and listen to their point of view. No hard feelings to any of them! That said I truly appreciate you helping me there.

      @@ShabanandHailey hi Shabana and Hailey. Hope you both are well. Shabana, we went through time change over the weekend. We were one hour behind Trinidad but we are now on same time as Trinidad. We lost an hour sleep. Spring is coming up soon so our time changed. Fell asleep around 9 o'clock last night, Sunday, and just woke at 4:30 this morning, Monday. Time change messes up our sleep patterns so it's always hard to re-adjust. Anyway, I just saw your comment. You know, the two people who criticized David in the second video, I haven't seen them come back. Maybe they got the message. What they didn't seem to understand is that we all have to make the best of our lot in life. Everyone has a right to their opinion but sometimes they tend to be disrespectful, like the person who said that David should educate himself and the other one who said that she could take him to other places (I guess she wanted to take him to better and nicer places). Anyway, I hope you all have a great day and stay blessed. 🙏💛🤗🇹🇹🇨🇦

    Hi David, I enjoyed this video. A while back you asked for suggestions in regards to video content and this video made me recall that. The pacing of this video is faster than some of the others. Personally, I think your style is better geared toward a pace more in common with, say, Best Ever Food Review Show than Mark Wiens (though others may disagree). I wouldn't be surprised though if your watch % on this video was quite good. I think 12-18 minutes is probably the sweet spot for length.It's hard to keep pace up beyond that, and less than that means it's hard to keep up depth of content.
    The egg guy and the porridge guy from video 1 were both interesting but I think it would have been more coherent if there had been a cut of different breakfast options around town or something of the sort--essentially a theming, similar to what BEFRS does on the second channel. Again this is just my opinion and others may disagree, ultimately you want to do what you're comfortable with and what brings you joy.
    I'd also consider not releasing shorts ahead of the full videos, and if possible getting the full videos out sooner after the trip. This just keeps up momentum. BEFRS has a clever format with the trailer followed 24 hours later by the first video, culminating in all videos put together as one long video (easy extra views).
    Note I say all of this as an utter amateur who has made no good videos.

    • @Davidsbeenhere
      @Davidsbeenhere  Рік тому +1

      Basketbologism I truly appreciate your insightful comment. It was so in line with my team and my thinking that I almost wondered if you were a secret UA-camr in disguise LOL. Every suggestion you made is something I am aiming for. Best Ever and Mark both have amazing styles (they are the GOATS) and I think I'm finding myself more in line with BEFRS stylistically these days but with a VLOG angle similar to Mark which I think is a bit different from Sonny. Sort of a best of both worlds scenario. Its been tough to find a good middle ground but I've made big progress I think since Dominica. Each series is progressing. I'm still trying to shorten videos and organize them in a more thematic way. The most recent trip to Grenada is the first trip where we did it based on Themes and not based on Days and so I think you'll really enjoy it! The problem with themes is you lose some of the authenticity of the experience since you don't show the in between. I've found some difficulty keeping things under 12-18 minutes but its a goal for sure. The trailer format hasn't worked well for me as of yet but I'm willing to give it another go. I have been following the Full Documentary model though. One question though, what do you mean about not releasing shorts ahead of full videos? Like not the same day, same week, how about the day before? Just curious your opinion, but that said I truly appreciate you taking the time to write to me and hope you'll stay tuned because for a second I thought you were my Producer who says the same things. LOL. Thanks Basketbologism.

    • @basketbologism1655
      @basketbologism1655 Рік тому +1

      @@Davidsbeenhere I think within a few days still keeps that cohesion going. Like, maybe think of the shorts as like a trailer for the series that's coming. With movies back in the day trailers could be released way before but I think with UA-cam, there's a demand for much more immediacy. So like, if a few shorts pop up and within a week that series starts dropping, I think that's great.
      Btw dug the latest Kenya video too, cool stuff.

      Thank you so much for sharing this info Wilson! According to a lot of sources (if you google "largest slum in africa" the first result is Kibera) Kibera is the largest urban slum in Africa. I've seen several population estimates ranging from 200k-1million people. It does seem like the 200k number might be more accurate. I certainly am no expert on the subject although thats why I chose the title. There is a lot of contradictory information out there, but I welcome any corrections or discussion/divergence of opinion.
