In this tutorial I’ll cover my current favorite way to create grain for my photographs. Many retouchers will create layers of grain to sit up on top of all of their layers as a sort of finishing layer that helps blend all the colors together below the grain and create a smoother, more finished look. We will create the multi-layered grain and create an action so when we want grain, we just click and we’ve got it! The image I used in this image: unsplash.com/p...

hi im late but it's worth asking. your action has been working great for 1500x500 photos (i'm trying to make headers and icons for twitter). but, i wanted to make my own but instead of a solid color of grey, i'll occasionally use pink or whatever color to match. well, i start with a 400x400 photo and create filters then add the SMALLER grain using the exact steps in this video & put it all into a folder. well, when i transfer mine over to my 1500x500 header, i'd have to free transform all the filters & grain for that size and when i do it becomes chunkier which i don't want. however, when i use the small grain you created in this video, it fits perfectly in the 1500x500 photo without looking chunky. any tips on how i can fix this??? i make psds for twitter headers & icons on my tumblr and i don't want anything to look bad.
do we need to do what you did with the levels when adding grain?
