@tutvid I find it easier to select hue/saturation under adjustments, select the color you want to change by changing "master" to red, yellow, green, cyan, etc then simply bump up the saturation to 100% and it will look really bad but you use the slider at the bottom to adjust to just what you want to change the color to, change the saturation back down to 0% and simply slide Hue in any direction to change the color to basically anything.
I have often wondered why more photographers dont use colour range to generate luminesence masks.. Rather then the traditional way ? Another concise well presented tutorial... :)
how do i reset all the selected colors for color range? I've tried holding alt and pressing reset button but it just resets it back to the old state where I chose a few colors
Is it possible to make a selection and add more with color range? for example, use the quick selection tool, then add a little green with color range select?
seems like it works perfectly for everyone except me, when I select the layer mask I get an error, it says no Pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible. I go on to create the adjustment layer and nothing.... can someone please help?
Hey, is there a way to use color range in a specific selection? For example, I draw a rough selection around the smoke and then I use color range to select the orange? Would be helpful! Thanks!
Nice tut, thanks! I checked out your Advanced Photoshop tutorials bundle but can't see which version of Pshop you're using. I have 2015.5. Does your package cover that?
The concepts work in CC 2015.5, but the tutorials are in a variety of versions of Photoshop from CS6 to CC. I have a video coming soon covering all the new features in Photoshop CC 2015.5
When I try to use this feature I get a message that says "Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible." How do I deal with it?
You dont, it's just a warning that you cant VISUALIZE what you are selecting because the feather it's too thin... it is just to say to you "Hey we have a selection, but you cant really see it in the display"
you don't understand what i mean. i mean is he using Photoshop cc older version or the 2015 one cause i have the 2015 one and it doesn't look the same :/
You are so much more straight forward than alot of other photoshop "guru's" on youtube. Thank you!

Absolutely. You can draw out a selection and then Color Range will only target colors/pixels within that selection.
tutvid Great :D

Anyone know what smoke bombs most people use? (like the guy on the video)
Never bought a smoke bomb in my life.
10/10 would buy one if I ever saw one on a store shelf.
