There are endless ways to add sharpening and light to any image, it's not about a "masterclass" it's about familiarity with how Photoshop works (you don't need Lightroom) and having some vision about what looks good. You get that by GOING TO THE LIBRARY and taking out ART HISTORY BOOKS. Not by copying some character on UA-cam. He is good, but he's certainly not breaking new ground.
John … Rakesh is entitled to his opinion as are you, and I appreciate that he would say such a thing. It’s an opinion … not a fact and I, and he I’m sure get that.
@@glyndewis I enjoyed watching this video, never came across your channel before, I don’t think, I watch so many. What I enjoy about different channels is that people do things different to get the same results which is what it’s all about, I try to combine some of the things I watch from different channels. I have come away from this video knowing a couple new things. Love how easy it was to follow as well. Got yourself a new sub. Thank you
Oh my…I just learned what I spent thousands of hours looking on masterclass courses in minutes. Man,you deserves millions of views and likes for this video. Thank you brother.💪🏾
in all my years of watching youtube to learn how to edit portraits quickly this is by far the best and simplest video to follow... massive results in such a short amount of time!!! thank you Glyn
Glyn Dewis The thing I best like about your UA-cam tutorials is that your presentation style and instruction content aren't driven by online social fashion.
I cannot tell you how inspired I am to give portraits a try. Thank you SO much for being the kind of teacher who's willing to share the "secret sauce". This kind of process training is what I've needed. Thanks again!
Glyn, I want to say thank you so much for sharing all of your secrets. I was waiting for this tutorial ever since I saw your post on Instagram. When it came out I stayed up until 12:30 doing a self portrait and it's one of the best pictures I have of myself. Your teaching ability and transparency are unmatched. Thank you!
I almost never watch instructional videos. It takes too long to get relevant information. I don't even know why I chose to watch this particular video. I'm a macro nature photographer. But I had been thinking lately about using human studio portrait techniques on nature subjects brought into a studio and the title implied it would show a complete workflow. All this just to say I though this was one of the absolute BEST workflow videos I have ever seen. Well organized, very thorough and jammed packed with useful information...and it moved right along. Thank you very much. Yes, you have skills, skills acquired over a long career...
Glyn, your tutorials are so great! By showing your process from the shooting to the post prod, it's showing exactly where to put my efforts at different stages. It helps me so much. And by the way, thanks for addressing to guys like me who are still using CS6, always appreciated. Can't wait for your next video!
I don't photograph people, but I do a lot of pet portraits. I really like the results you get with people and I am trying to modify the settings to work with dogs. So far, I really like what I am seeing, especially with the 20/10 technique.
So much to learn here. I'm glad we live in a world where the knowledge is available at the click of a button on youtube. Respect to those who paved their way without the help of technology. As a beginner, instead of crying about competition and tough market, we should be glad that the tools are available out here for us to at least learn.
Glyn, what would we all do without you?! Great explanation, right to the point without any fluff around it. Thank you for being a wonderful educator! Waving from California 🤘🏼
Hi Glyn, a good video says much more than a thousand words (or books). This was very inspiring for me, also my first time really with layers in Photoshop. I´m a little weary of making portraits but with your video I decided to have a go. And I loved the result so I will keep on going now! Thanks a million and a happy new year.
This is the best headshot portrait video I’ve ever rewatched twelve times. Thank you sooooooo much. Your approach, specificity and direction without too much information is absolutely what i needed. I actually used every step, except for the red ear reduction. Did two of my male presenting friends and sent them the photos after and they were blown away! Thank you so much !
Dreamy. I wish all the men in my life that are now gone (father, grandfathers, uncles, etc.) were still here so I could use your technique. I am so new to photography - when I watch your videos you really inspire me to try things. Thank you so much. I will now start trying this on the precious men that are still with me.
After many months of watching UA-cam videos, attending in-person photo editing tutorials an gaining limited understanding of the process, I decided this evening to give up learning photo editing and out-source instead. Then your video appears!. This just inspired me to open LRc and PS again. Following your steps and I have proudly successfully edited a photograph. There's still a lot of learning to do, but I am grateful for this stride no matter how little or insignificant it may seem. Thank you!
As a seasoned Portrait Photographer I admire Glyn's techniques, although I would make other choices myself. Most photographers execute sloppy on post production or don't even have the skills. Not Glyn. Thanks for increasing not only my knowledge this way. Best Kristjan
Fabulous tutorial as always Glyn, the portrait of yourself looks superb, you should have embraced the shaved head years ago, it's a great look for you. 👍
This is better than thousands of masterclass out there

It is quite complex to be honest
This may be the most comprehensive how to create portraits video on UA-cam. Nice.
