I love this soup! I’ve made it several times,,,,,,I’m keto/carnivore and it’s perfect for my diet,,,,,I also use a bag of shredded coleslaw, I only have a crock pot, it’s simple and easy. Thank you!

I made this soup last week, and it came out great. The only thing is that next time, I will cut the cabbage myself. I would prefer for the cabbage to be a little bigger than it was with the Cole slaw pre-cut.

It can't be any simpler than that.
I like the ready prepared slaw mix idea. Might be a bit more expensive than a whole or half a cabbage (wombuck), but still it saves time.
Some chopped Kale or a frozen Spinach pellet would be good here too.
    Lovely recipe my dear.
    Thank you 👍🤤😀

Everything looks so good in these videos! Ordered some items to get started with the chaffles and will be moving on to different recipes from there. Would love a keto sausage gravy recipe to go along with those biscuits that look so tasty.

I don't really care about onion pieces being the same size as it's all going to cook down anyway. Having said that, I will try this recipe because it looks yummy and I love cooked cabbage 😊

I made cabbage soup a few days ago, a vegan, after my first bowl, I felt like I was missing something, went to the frig and had a slice of my breakfast ha and that satisfied me. All my other bowls I added some sliced sausage, I guess I’m just not a vegan guy, this recipe might just do the trick!

@@WholesomeYum I'm trying for next week. And thank you for all the keto and no sugar stuff you do. I just moved into a new apartment after living in a motel for two years so I only had an air fryer. Now I have a full kitchen so I'm armed and ready to try keto baking and stove top recipes but I also have a slow cooker that I haven't used in years so this recipe is PERFECT.

This looks great! I wondered what the difference was for a basic cabbage soup and a cabbage roll soup I learned to make some time ago. I always loved cabbage rolls but my attempts have not been as successful as I would have liked.. I guess the main difference for the two soups is that I put in paprika and worcestershire sauce iwhile putting in the same seasonings also used for this recipe. Then at the end of the cooking time I add cauliflower rice instead of using rice, I just don't digest it well, and we love it with the cauliflower rice just as well. Everything else is the same. I tried making a basic recipe of cabbage soup recently, but wondered what I was missing. This recipe looks great and I did not know you can freeze it! I worried that the cabbage would be too mushy. I guess it would depend on how much you cooked it when heating it both times. We Love all of your recipes! I love the precut cabbage idea. I woould love to get precut onions too, but always wind up cutting my own- but they make me cry. But it is so worth it! I love cabbage and beef together!

Hope you'll try this one, Gail! I didn't notice the cabbage getting mushy after freezing, but I guess I don't mind it soft.

@@WholesomeYum I’ll try freezing it. I did do your recipe and we loved it. Maybe if I’m worried about the cabbage when I decide I’m going to freeze some I might keep it leaning toward the crisp side so in thawing and cooking again it will still have some body to it. Actually I used to freeze cabbage a long time ago when we lived out in the country. When cabbage was in season I’d freeze dinner portions of it to put in soups or casseroles. And it was fine. I forgot about that. Thanks again for your wonderful recipes and inspiration!

I store mine in the refrigerator. No tears when cutting. Or use a food processor if you have one.

BETTER recipe, HEALTHIER recipe, UMAMI recipe. 1. This is actually cabbage roll soup, blend the tomatoes, add 1/4 c apple cider vinegar, 1/4 cup coconut amino....this gives soup bite, if you want some heat, 3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce....welcome to Thai food. 2. Healthier soup add 1 teaspoon or 2 of tumeric...look up the benefits. 3. UMAMI...or great flavor...add shitaki mushroom, sliced very thin and water rehydrate. Bonus: 1 cabbage cost about 2 dollars and gives about 4 packages of chopped cabbage, 1 package of cabbage is 2.90 to 4.99...you do the math

Cabbage soup or stew is a staple in Eastern Europe. Just sauté onions and carrots, then meat, add cabbage. You might use bone broth. It take 30 min to cook it. Do not use ground meat and slow cooker, it will kill all vitamins in cabbage.
