Nickelback has a ton of heavy bangers. Like: Side of a Bullet (RIP DIME), This Means War, Never Again, Because of You, Kiss it Goodbye, Coin for the Ferryman, and Feed the Machine just to name a few
This. I came here to say just this. Nickelback's gotta a lot of alternative metal and heavy metal songs (and one thrash metal track, if you count their cover of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia"), they're just overshadowed by their softer alternative rock songs (not that those songs are bad, "Lullaby" helped me through an awful time).
Plus their first EP and debut album were grunge, and their first two albums after that were on the heavier side of post-grunge for the most part.

This is the real nickelback that’s been about 70% of every album they put out since day 1. The problem is they’d always have cheesier 3-4 rock ballads/rock pop songs on every album that were radio-focused that everyone hated lol

Loving the new track so far, but definitely not Nickleback's heaviest track. If you want to continue the Nickleback heavy-track train, you need to listen to This Means War, The Betrayal Act III, Because of You, Just to Get High, and Side of a Bullet (their tribute song to Dimebag Darrell).

Yeah, hard rock isn't new for Nickelback. They've been making heavy songs for decades. Every album, since their debut album Curb('96), has hard rock songs on it. They get a bad wrap for changing their style a little bit over the recent years and going more mainstream. No matter how much they change, they will never leave the hard rock behind. They are a great band! 🤘
Every time Nickelback are putting out a new record, rock news and people say Nickelback are heavy now. No. Half their songs have always sounded like this. People just follow the crowd and criticize the band without even listening to their music.
back in 2001 ,, Silver Side Up ,, "Never Again" was one of the heaviest sounding songs id heard and I became a big fan ,, still am ,, no surprise that this "new" cut is just as heavy if not heavier ,, as a fellow Canadian I couldnt be prouder of these guys !!!
Obviously, people have never or will not give Nickelback a chance. This is classic Nickelback, and they've always been this way...a lot of their deeper cuts are even heavier...
Nickelback has always had heavier songs but they aren't the songs that everyone knows or get overplayed. It's same with Creed. People always forget songs like "What If" or "Bullets" or "Torn" exist and then act surprised when Alter Bridge releases crazy heavy stuff. Fun experiment play someone a heavy Alter Bridge song to someone who has never heard of them and then tell them that Alter Bridge is Creed with a new singer but mostly the same people. Blows people's minds but those people have probably never heard heavier Creed songs just like people haven't heard the heavier Nickelback songs

Nickleback has a good amount of heavy songs. They're very good at "hard rock".
Most of their songs are heavy, the solo isn’t out of something they would do. I’m just happy to know their back to making new music.

I’ve been to 5🤘 They go HARD n concert, the songs r the same but it’s like they turn up the heavy and it sounds so much better than the album. I have been a fan since Curb & The State. This song makes me want to see them again. The hearing loss n my left ear is well worth it, I don’t mind having no voice for weeks, the feet swelling and pain goes away n a few days and the memories last a lifetime! 🔥🤘

They've been heavy for some years now. You just never hear it because all the radio plays is photograph and how you remind me.
TBF Nickelback have always have a heavy side with songs like 'Side Of a Bullet', 'Never Again', 'Flat On the Floor', 'The Betrayal 3' to name just a few. Its just radio and sheeple who have spread this false story of them, being only being a 'soccer mom' radio band. HELL NO!!! Those songs above are definitely worth a listen and you'd see what i mean.

I'll preface this by saying that I've never heard a Nickleback song that I am consciously aware of. And with that said, I really dug this song. Sounds very Five Finger Death Punchy to me, and I mean that in a good way. If they put out music like this from now on, I would venture to guess the memes would go away. And that's all it really takes too. Just put out some good hard or heavy rock/Metal tunes like this instead of the sappy Emo/Alf Rock shit and people will dig it. The music scene has changed within the last 25 years, where only sappy Alt Rock shit was being produced to having a total resurgence of some real heavy stuff now. Ever since about 2003 or so, Heavy Metal has been back in a real big way, you just had to find it on MySpace and UA-cam. Why some of these Emo and Alt Rock groups didn't figure out that that that scene died around the early 2010s I'll never know. But yeah, if Nickleback continues on this path, I might consider buying thus album.
