Had never listened to swallow the sun, prior to going to one of their concerts. They were absolutely incredible. Loving the mix of like atmospheric metal/doom mixed with melodic death metal.
I'll never understand how I sometimes go a whole year not hearing a fucking masterpiece like this.
Only four days into 2019 and I have my candidate for the album of the year.

as soon as those heavy vocals hit, I literally went into one of those weird excited fits that little kids do when they get a puppy. My entire body is legit covered in goosebumps. this is a fucking masterpiece. it hits so many facets of my emotions, it speaks a philosophy, it's pure poetry. why didn't I click on this link sooner? this band is absolutely amazing. I can't wait for the album to come out
Swallow The Suns new material is seriously epic! Great to hear heavy chords and vocals structured in a more melodic arrangement.
I heard this on Spotify as a new release and keep coming back it over and over. This is terrifyingly beautiful, as are all their songs. I am properly excited for the new album.

The intro and guitar melody in the beginning is one of the most memorable melodies I heard. Even after years since I accidentally listened to this song, I often find myself humming that melody in a random time

Love the mix/production, especially the guitars sound amazing. Love the fact Mikko is a vocal god. Lovely atmosphere and transitions. Loving the riffage. In short, a masterpiece is on its way.

that nightingale is a refference to the vocalist of Trees of eternity. She was the lover of the songwritter and she passed away recently
so is the album title / track. - One of the lyrics in Broken Mirror by Trees "when a shadow is forced into the light"

Somehow, STS has managed to not only touch my soul with this song, but also shred it apart. I’ve been a fan since the beginning, and this song proves they still hold true to their sound. The intro reminded me of the stuff from emerald forest and the blackbird album. Then they went in with a whole new darkness that can only be understood by the few who’ve truly felt the pain of loss in this lifetime. You are seriously one of my favorite bands, and never cease to amaze me. Aleah would be blown away by what you’ve created. \m/

Spotify put this song in my Daily Mix playlist. I was in the metro on my way to the office, listening to that playlist as usual and reading, when suddenly everything around me dissolved into nothing and all I could hear was Mikko's voice... it was so beautiful...

New Swallow The Sun is gonna be sooo sick (I discovered them just last year when searching for some Melo Death stuff) The way they infuse melodic Death with Doom Metal is so damn awesome, keep up the good work... You Guys Rock
For melodic death, do you listen to their countrymates Insomnium? Less doomy, but still incredible. The Finnish may just be the best at metal.

Another recommendation for you: Ghost Brigade. Sadly now on extended hiatus / possibly not ever getting back together, bu they produced four perfect albums.

2019 Wishlist: Catch Swallow the Sun live
catch them in a small club if possible. It absolutely rocked my pants but when I saw them on Tuska 2016 it really didn't have the same atmosphere, it's not the perfect band for open air summer festivals

Seen them on a small stage several years ago in Tilburg the Netherlands. Good quality of sounds there. That makes the big difference with this band I think. You need really good quality of sound and vox to catch the vibe

@@miqvPL that's what I did. It was cold and snowing so hard outside I hardly made it to the venue. Mid set of STS the roof started to dump water alll over the band and the front two rows in the pit. It was epic best show my friend and I have seen and we go to a ton of shows
