Definitelly, for me, Swallow the Sun and Draconain are, by far, the best bands of Doom currently.

As for Evadne, tbh i just heard just one of their songs, so i cannot tell you whether or not I like the band.

They truly are one of the best Finnish metal bands of all time, with so much consistency and great music over the years, Shallow the Sun definitely deserve this placement

Songs of the North is a 3 disc masterpiece. First one is clean and growled vocals, second is all cleans, third is pure doom, no cleans.
You're in for a treat my friend. Their early stuff is borderline perfect. This new album is still pretty good of course.
Hope is an unparalleled masterpiece. All their albums are great but Hope is a cut above IMHO.

Holy shit what a sense of melody this band has, that chorus is just something else. It'll haunt me at least for a month now, and I ain't complaining.
This is why album art/covers are important, I would've never clicked and listened to this if it wasn't for the cool as hell art. Plus, in a way, it enhances the experience and gives you an idea of the mood and world the music is telling.
It's more important than most people give it credit for

I agree, although I was going to watch anyway because they're one of my favorite bands. I'm not sure if I found them because of the album art, though, because the first album I listened to was Hope that doesn't actually have that much of a standout cover art, but many other artists I probably have

I knew from the instrumental this would be a song that reaches deep into the being, grabs hold, and takes a beautifully terrible flight. Astoundingly powerful and memorable. May be STS's strongest song yet in my opinion.
I loved it too.But the songs "Night will Forgive Us" and "New Moon" my favourite songs by the band..

@@emhas4824 Agreed, several of my all time favorite bands. Have you ever listened to Midlife Hollow by Impure Wilhelmina or Charnel Noir by Light of the Morning Star? Excellent albums in those realms of the greats so far this year.

There is real beauty buried within the despair contained within every Swallow the Sun track.
STS Only gets better and more impactful with each work of art they release. They reach my deepest core like no other musicians.

I met Mikko Kotamäki at a Clouds gig once and we stood and spoke about his bands as well as my favourite doom band from Finland, Yearning. He was very cool to talk to. And this song is wonderful. Looking forward to the new album. Soothe my misery 🖤
I had a great experience meeting Mikko after a StS set a few years ago. Genuinely nice guy and complimented me on my Necrophagia shirt. Right before my friends and I left he actually came up to me to tell me thank you for coming out to the show and for talking with him.
