    Michael, Yesterday I fixed my Samsung Drier that was experiencing the same problem. I followed your step-by-step video and repaired it with no problem. A tech was going to charge me $375.00 dollars, but your video saved the day. Thank you and please continue with your fantastic videos.

      That’s the BEST news we’ve heard all day!! Awesome job making it a DIY project and saving yourself $375.00
      You can put that money towards something more meaningful, hope you enjoy your weekend.

    Was worried about having to replace major parts but turns out there was a bunch of clothes inside of the lint flap as well as all of the ductwork for the exhaust portion exiting the dryer. Removing the clothing, cleaning the duct and unplugging the power a few mins to reset it did the trick!

    ok I purchased a motor, thought that it would solve my problems which I could swear had the same symptoms. However just like others if you spin the drum manually and try to start it will spin but stop eventually. The motor wasn't my issue. It's a 6 year old machine with a new motor in it. lol the old one I can use for a back up latter in life. ok I checked the rollers the first time through I know for sure not that. I checked the tensioner pulley and assumed ok I took it apart but never examined it. I did the second time through. Belt was worn some, and most important the screw was loose on the tensioner. I used my impact screw gun just a couple clicks or 3 max no more......and put a new belt on. My dryer drum had to be off the back rollers to put it on the tensioner pulley then tip top of drum to me which lifts the bottom up on the rollers and done. Took me some time to figure that out. ughs another cut. hopefully this fixes my problem I will get back in a month if no problems to let you guys know.

    We keep the top unlatched and after we hit play.. we give the drum a quick push and the motor starts spinning 😅.

    I'm sure I have this problem I just wish I had a walk through to remove the dryer housing to even work on it, and would prefer to bypass the broken part if the motor is still good :/

      Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. The most common cause of clicking is an object stuck or jammed in a place it shouldn’t be.
      You may need to remove both your upper control panel & front panel to gain access to the inner portion of washer.
      At this point you will have access to all moving parts where you can inspect the entire inner portion of the machine and surroundings of each part.
      Check to see if there is any type of object interfering with the movement/operation of your moving parts.

    Mine does this but if you spin the drum a little and start again it starts sometimes about 50/50. Would this cause an intermittent problem like this?

      I have the same problem, and no it won't fix it. on 10/26/23 I replaced the motor and I thought it was fine. The next day same problem. I replaced the belt and rollers 1 year ago and looked at them while everything was disassembled. Rollers looked new spun fine and no slop at the bearings, belt was nice and tight also when just the top was off. I can't figure it out.

    My dryer turns on but the rotating cycle button light doesn’t rotate and the none of the buttons work. Could it be electrical? It was working fine and the next morning it wasn’t. Anyone have an idea what it could be?

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  5 місяців тому +1

      Good morning ☕️ it’s possible. Have you removed the top panel of dryer to see inside? It’s possible that the belt has failed/snapped.

    If you undo the belt from thr tensioner and the drum still wont spin by hand......it cant be this little plastic lever......right?

      Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community.
      It’s still likely however more likely that you have worn out rollers. Most kits come with rollers, pulley, and belt. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

      @@DIYwithMichaelBorders really impressed with the quick response.
      I too could only see it being the rollers, once I checked belt wasn't hung up, tensioner was in place and spun freely, and that the motor and fan spin freely.....and with belt off drum still extremely hard to spin by hand......I couldn't see how it was anything else, so I ordered a set of rollers.
      By testing the rollers by hand, 2 of the 4 were not as easy to spin by hand as the others. (Now I'm surprised they aren't even harder to spin then they are, as the drum wouldn't move but praying this is all it needs).
      Will update when new rollers installed.
      Thanks again and God bless you and your family!

      We really appreciate that and hope all is well with you and your family.
      That’s awesome you ordered new rollers. Your machine will be very happy.
      Worn out rollers tend to put extra stress on the belt and cause it to fail prematurely…the cool thing is you can get a fresh new belt installed when you’re replacing the rollers.

      @@DIYwithMichaelBorders well I replaced all 4 rollers and am honestly a bit shocked to say the drum still doesn't spin.
      When I removed the belt, before changing the 4 rollers, the drum didn't turn, which made me think, it's deffinently the rollers, and 2 of the 4 were harder to spin/had more drag when you spun by hand. But now after changing them, still can't turn the drum by hand with belt on.......any ideas?

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  Рік тому +1

      @@mikeb4824
      Thanks for the follow up, that’s odd. Did you ensure the drum itself was properly shifted into place onto the rollers?
      The drum…if not properly placed onto rollers so that the rollers slide into the drum indent…will cause resistance that can lead to drum having a harder time to spin.

      Pretty sure this is what's wrong with mine... I've only had it three years. What a flimsy product... terrible craftsmanship. Thought I was getting name-brand and it fails right outside of warranty because of a part that looks like it's from a child's toy. Never buying another Samsung product again.
