- Dryer decides to stop working all of a sudden but it makes a humming noise..the inside drum spins by hand one way but does not spin the other way. since the inside drum is on wheels to support and help it spin, then there is the drive belt that grabs the outside of the drum to spin it and then there is the motor itself that spins the belt to spin the drum on its wheels..simple set up, let's see what it can be. Good video, but.. Build of lint, dirt in and around the motor was preventing mine from turning. Recommend you clean motor with soft brushes and compressed air before giving up. Also consider spraying graphite/silicon on wheels.
Its a good thing to check and clean 1st, but depending on the age of the machine, sometimes its better to go and replace it with the belt and wheels and be good for several more years...kind of a preventive maintenance, catch it before it goes, just like parts in your daily driver car, don't wait till it goes.

This confirms my suspicion :( I appreciate the video. Husband is overseas for another three months. Removed the drum, made sure the blades were clear, band is good, pulley system looked intact EXCEPT for the tension in the motor part... welp going dryer shopping I guess unless I summon the courage to replace the motor. Thank you again!

Hey man I’ve replaces all parts and my drum slows down. It works with less weight when i add more clothes it starts stalling. New wheels pullie and 2nd belt. Help
Since you already mentioned the 2 wheels, you did change both i assume, then its the motor, the wheels support the weight. Motor powers the belt to spin the drum. Nothing is binding right?
Brushes.
You don't go this far to guess at brushes on an old model to do it all over again, imagine if you paid for a service call, did brushes and then get called again for the motor doing it again? Would you pay for 2 service calls, when it should of been fixed the 1st time.. that's why it's better to replace
It’s not spinning.
Disconnect that belt and see if the motor spins by itself
