Blender Repair - JB Weld on broken Blendtec jar

  • Using JB Weld for a blender repair. FYI this is definitely NOT food safe. My Blendtec blender jar developed a crack so I tried fixing it with Gorilla super glue. The Gorilla glue didn't hold and the jar was still leaking when making smoothies. In this video I sanded off the Gorilla glue and applied J-B Weld PlacticWeld quick-setting epoxy.

    Thank you! thank you! Thank you for making this video! I bought some of this stuff and fixed the 2 huge cracks in my cuisinart food processor bowl. I tested it out this morning and water is holding in the bowl. Love it! The only thing I would mention is that this stuff stinks!!! You may have mentioned it in the video but I would recommend doing this out in the garage. I applied it in my laundry room and it took hours to get rid of the smell. Also, after reading other people’s comments about their food processor bowl, I should mention that I applied the jb weld product on the outside of the bowl to minimize the chance of it coming near food.

    Got my Vitamix (awesome, brand new condition) for $3 at a second hand shop here in Japan. Made a few awesome smoothies on that day, then wanted to invite my family for a smoothie party. Picked it up from an upper shelf and dropped the pitcher part...cracked it and everything leaked out while trying to make it in front of everyone. Checked the price of a new container....no way. Anyway, I will try your idea. Hope it works...

    Rink, why not just use a handful of almonds in your smoothy instead of store bought almond milk? You will save a ton of money and save the packaging of store bought milks. Thats is what we do. BTW: It is super easy to make nut and seed milks in a high speed blender. The resulting milk can be filtered or just use as is and let the fibre sink to the bottom. I use a cup of seeds or nuts, a pinch of salt and 4 cups of water ( one litre) for delicious milk.

    I have the exact same crack on almost the exact same are of my Blendtec Wildside jar. I thought about trying this, but my only concern is that since there is still a crack on the inside of the jar, it is filling with tiny bits of food that is virtually impossible to get out and then I wonder how much extra bacteria is getting into every batch blended. Sealing the inside of the jar is iffy if this stuff is not food safe. I wonder if a food safe seal would exist?

    • @RinkVideo
      @RinkVideo  2 роки тому +4

      Yeah that’s certainly a concern for sure. There is soooooo much force on that crack though. It’s ridiculous how much $ they want for a new jar. Let me know if you figure out a better solution!
