Broken blendtec container?
Try the alternajar
Thanks! It's very hard now a day to find a good person willing to help other people like you.
I just discovered this issue as well...my Blendtec was smoking and vibrating like crazy. I then noticed fluid on the base and rubber in the drink. So, I immediately assumed there was a seal to check. The motor operated fine without the jar on top, so luckily nothing needed to be done there. But, when I filled the jar with water and watched the seal under the blades, indeed there was a drip. Thanks for the info on the warranty. Mine was made in 2012, so we'll see if I made the 8 yrs. or not. Either way, I was glad that after 7-8 years of pretty consistent use that worst case, a jar is only $50 or $60. And you are correct, the blade and bearing assembly on the Blendtec jar was obviously not intended to simply unscrew and be replaced on its own. I can't seem to find parts anyway, so new jar it is. Great video and info. Thanks!
Yeah the original design is not great. Check with blendtech they sent me mine for free.
I just called Blendtec because my jar blade components are leaking fluid. I did not have the receipt. the rep looked up my equipment by the manufacture date at the bottom of the blender and a set of numbers at the bottom of the jar. I am at a 7 years and 10 months from purchase date. Thank you for your video, you just save me 100 dollars. Best customer service call and they stand by their 8 year warranty on their product.
Man thats awesome, I am so glad my video brings value!!
My bucket froze up, the information Joe gives in this video gives several options for replacing as well as warranty information. Thank you Joe I'm following your advise
Glad it helped
Thanks to u I will have my jar replace. They did contact me this afternoon after I left a message 2 days ago. Thanks to u again. Take care
Glad to help
Pretty Cool explanation. I did the same, bought from costco and now in same boat.. need to call blentec and may be I will buy the new alternate jar. Thanks for putting your experience on YT.
Great 👍
That jar is awesome, glad I watched this video, thanks
1ove2Act yes BUT blendtec has updated their container...it’s much better now. Your old one may be under warranty still-call them!
Blendtec treated me really well too. Not the quietest machine on your counter but I believe as good as they come for blending.
I have to go into a closet inside of a closet inside of a closet and its still too loud...LOL
@@capitolbassfishing I turn my back and move away to other chores especially if the cannister is worn. {edit} Hey! It does fit under the cupboards.
One thing to remember here that isn't obvious is that Blendtec has a patent on a 2 winged blender blade. The replacement has a traditional short 4 blade. This is significant because with the Blendtec blade, you pretty much never have to tamp food town into the blade. It feeds itself. There is a reason that the Vitamix comes with a tamper. The blade will spin uselessly if you don't push food into the blade.
yep, the blendtec is superior...the replacement aftermarket works well though...it pulls down nicely. I have both as blendtec has a good warranty...I wasnt aware of...
Not true. blendtec makes a whole separate jar with two large prongs that functions as a tamper because a tamper is needed to blend thick mixtures like peanut butter or ice cream where cavitation or air pockets can easily form around the blades. The 4 blade design has nothing to do with needing a tamper, it’s the mixture that’s being blended that determines that
@@brandonjohnson1339 You either have never owned one of these, or don't have enough common sense to understand the obvious. Yes, BlendTec has the peanut butter jar. And yes, the wings help the way a tamper would. But for anything else in the regular jar, a tamper is not needed. And if you have owned a normal 4 blade blender you will IMMEDIATELY notice a huge difference with the 2 blade Blendtec Blender. If you stack the ingredients properly with a Blendtec you ALMOST never need to stir or tamp what you are blending. With a Vitamix, its a standard part of the process.
@@donaldmei8797 blendtec makes you buy a ridiculously small separate jar that costs over 100$ with two large forks that function as a tamper just to make peanut butter because they don’t have the common sense to include a tamper while boasting that their machine doesn’t need a tamper 😂 Vitamix can do everything out of the box. Not to mention the blades in a blendtec jar are permanently fixed to the container so if anything happens to the blades like in this video you can’t just replace them you have to buy another jar while with Vitamix the blades are removable so you can just replace the blades if needed and save money
Thanks for that information I'll call right away
Thank you so much for the great information!
You are so welcome!
Nice hope they have for vitamix
I’m going to call them. Thank you. Very helpful.
Glad I could help
Hello. I have the same problem. Did you solve the problem?.. please let me know also anyone as their number
thank u Joe that's help full
Glad to help, also I heard that Alternajar is no more...call Bendtec, they will help you.
Helpful video, thank you.
Here in Europe the warranty is not as good I have have gone through a few jars. The blendtec jars are too expensive when they only hold up for around three years. They hav redesigned the gasked area, so I hope that helps at least
+TheDanishSpaceman yes glad I could help! Good luck
ive had a blendtec total blender for over 12 years. around 4 times/week useage the entire time, and just now in the past few weeks finally started getting some weird burning/chemical smell from what seems to be the motor. but maybe will try this alternajar thing first, if it turns out its actaully a problem with the spindle/blades on the old jar
bet its not the motor...the gasket really smells when it goes and causes that friction. Check it out. But then again 12 years at 4 times a week. Could be the motor but I would be surpised.
@@capitolbassfishing yea i bought the replacement jar, no longer called alternajar now on amazon but i think it's more or less the same thing. so far worked well and i didn't notice any smell!
Thanks!
No problem!
9/8/21 if your past warranty the best they will do is 50% off new jar, I ordered Alterna jar, extra blade and tamper to try it. Also I’m waiting to hear back from some law firm that has class action suite against blendtec on this issue.
Did you hear back about the class action? Have a reference number or law firm name? I want to look into this for mine.
My blendtec is older than 8 years and the original container finally gave out. Ironically, the original container outlived the wildside jar, which also died of the same problem, but since I bought the wildside separate, it only had a 3 year warranty. For that reason, i've been hesitant to buy another jar. My blendtec still works great but the jars... They suck!
I ordered the alterna jar. $100 with two blades and the tamper is absolutely worth it, and blade replacements are only $35, which is great. Hopefully they last at least as long as regular blendtec blades. It wouldn't save me much money if the blades just break twice as easily.
I am a once every couple weeks type of user all of mine are still holding up. Keep me posted!
Thanks. I have the same problem. I will truy
Did it work?
@@capitolbassfishing the numbers ive been calling is not working, I don't know if it's because of the covid but I wont give up. Thanks
Is your Blendtec the 570 classic model? It looks like mine that I got from Costco around 2016. Mfg date says 2015 on the bottom. Mine has blade trouble...barely turns....brown powdery material is on the top of the base maybe from the gasket. Emailed Blendtec w photos and video. Will call too. Alternate seems out of stock indefinitely at least on Amazon.
yeah, call blendtec first...they sent me a new jar...the gasket was an issue on the original jar
I emailed Blendtec then called....and Blendtec now is sending me a new jar...newly redesigned for infrequent users like me. The gasket disintegrated w infrequent use. I did the math on my mfg date 2015 blender...which makes my use about 72 months. 389 blends in 72 months is about 5 blends/month. Thanks so much for posting your video. Inspirational!
Blendtec 8 Year Warranty! :) :0
You know it!
Thank You. My jar died today.
+JOHNNYKRUSE now you know where to get another
Me sirve en español
Alterna jar is gone. I assume Blendtec legal got to them.
bummer actually
Oh...and my Blendtec....trouble after only 389 smoothies.
the jar or the machine?
@@capitolbassfishing The jar, the rep and I figure. Blendtec is sending me a new one....that has the new design for less frequent users like me....just like in the UA-cam video above. 8 year warranty. My unit is from 2015 so it still had a coupla years of warranty left. The new jars have more metal and are loud for a second or so until the bearings kick in. I'll take it!😀
Same thing happened tp mine. Blendteck sucks,, its almost $400 and it breaks in like 3 years.
It's a jar, not a bucket.
well I say bucket, Plastic=Bucket Glass=Jar - tomatoe
uh, it had a 7 year warranty.
yep, they sent me a new one.
Blendtec has an 8-year warranty. You could have got a new one for free.
+Oki_Dingo yep I did. Thanks!
A new one?.. I live in uk is this the same here. Please let me know how did u do it
