  • I had my Wildside Jar go bad and these things are not cheap, over 100 bucks just for the jar. I always give companies a chance to resolve the issue before buying a new part for the most part companies like to make the customer happy. Since they will recommend to friends and family. Which in my opinion is the way to go. They did redesign the jar and top, so a great big thanks to Blentec for the great customer service..

Thanks a lot for the video. I just ordered a free replacement after watching it. Blendec has amazing customer service. The warranty period is 8 years in case anyone is wondering. The manufacturing date can be found at the bottom of the motor.

I am happy to hear that Blendtec came through for you. Unfortunately, I was 3 months out of warranty and was generously offered $20 off the $119 replacement cost. I decided to go with an Alterna Blendtec replacement jar instead, and I can not say enough good things about this jar. My Blendtec would alway dance around on my counter when I would blend Ice or raisins, but the Alterna jar makes my Blendtec hands-free again and I like the blade better too. Oh! did I tell you that it cost less too. If you can not get a new jar under warranty I highly recommend switching to an Alterna jar.

Wow cool, that is awesome info, it might be that I bought mine from QVC, maybe. we love the blender, I do believe they redesigned the Wildside because it does work better than the original jar. Thanks for the comment :)

Just received my blendtec 725, and i inspected the wildside jar bottom immediately for this is the issue why cnet did not recommend this blender, and I'm pleased to say, it's metal not rubber anymore.... For that, kudos blendtec for listening...

Delle C. They better listen to the consumers complaints about their products and fix them or, like any other company whom did that, they'd disappear from the market.

Use the old jar as a collection jar for coins, you can get loads in it. We used a spare i have for coins plus you can get them in the top bit easily.

We just used our blendtec on the soup setting. It burned holes through the seal. Awful burning smell, and little rubber pieces in the soup we were making.

I’m not having the leak yet but I made soup the other day and I think the rubber gasket is shredding. I’m positive I’m out of warrantee cause I’ve had it so long probably 7 or 8 years but there was a good chunk of time where I hadn’t used it. Any suggestions there?

hello does the new one that you received function better? the leak is gone? how many years does the new one last? We have the same problem but we did not know that we can call for a new one so we have bought the new jars more than 10 years ago. But its now leaking again. So I would like to know if the redesigned new jar that you said look like stainless steel without rubber last longer? Thank you.

@@tekolicious8310 Hello thanks for the reply, for how long have you been using the newly designed jar? and have you been using 3-4 times per day like the previous one? I would like to know more in detail to knw how many times it has been used in certain time and not causing leak.......to buy a new one. Thx

Ok it looks like Blendtec has fixed the black speck problem. My question is with the lid, does it stay on tightly, even when blending hot soups?

    • @homedoc9788

Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. And I noticed that the translucent plastic cap is designed to vent the jar which will definitely help keep the lid on for hot soups.

I believe the motor is what the warranty was for,but I called and they gave me the jar for free, there are no real ways to fix other than to replace the jar, but if you don't ask you won't get. what is the worst that can happen??? The new ones have a better seal.

My fourside jar leaked after 9 years of using. I called Blendtec today. Since it is out of 8 years warranty, they gave 50% off coupon to buy a jar directly from their website with free shipping. So, not so bad, I almost buy new one. So, it’s worth to contact them first before you purchase a new one.

The new design did not solve the root cause of the problem - now instead of rubbing against the rubber seal, it is rubbing against the metal cover, leaving lots of metal particles behind after every use
