ORCHIES IN BLOOM : May 2020

Lots to see this month coming in to the winter months. The blooms are lasting a bit longer and looking fresher. I've also got loads of spikes - I probably only showed half of the spikes (including all my phals!).

Transforming the house into a jungle is well on it’s way! 🤩 gorgeous arranging and display of your collection! Thank you for taking the time to make this video 🤗💐 I prefer seeing plants in situ ... and it makes picking up the camera so much easier and more spontaneous .. it’s a lot of extra shuffling around, which is great IF you have the time, but this ‘where they live, they bloom’ kind of video, is my favorite 🤩

Love the landing space! My Catasetum type did the same sharp spikes on the old leaves, and I keep mine all together. Just when they were growing nice big leaves that overlapped each the sharp spikes would pierce the new leaves and when moved would cut the new leaves like running a knife along them, so I went around all and bluntened them off. Psychopsis will slow right down during winter even mine indoors and those mass flowering photos of mine are a big flush of flowers all at once in spring.

I've had my pyscopcis 3yrs and it's bloomed ever since. The flowers don't last long maybe 10days if I'm lucky. It can take week's to rebloom. Your plant's are looking awesome. Well done.

I love your orchids. I like seeing them in your grow space but some close-ups of the blooms with a black background would be nice to see too. My psychopsis takes about a month to develop and open a new bud. It takes breaks from blooming when a new growth is developing - once the new growth is mature the bud begins to develop again. This can take a while. I'm just getting new bud growth after 6 months. Not sure if that's normal or due to my environment.

I like seeing the blooms where they live. I love the more natural view point. The noID Dendrobium Is Called Blach Thailand or Velvet Melody. I have one. All the orchids are beauties. Wonderful show.
