To be honest. I've never understood why Tokyo Ghoul has got such shit treatment. With its popularity it should have gotten Naruto treatment. The only good thing that could come out of this is a reboot like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

A lot manga readers telling you to read the manga can be annoying but really it's because watching the anime won't really give you the full story. All we ask for is good pasting, and for it follow the manga. They a seriously going out of their way to make sh*t for no one.

Well, I’ve enjoyed it a lot (probably because I haven’t read the mana) but I plan on reading the manga after Re season 2. I just don’t know where to watch it without paying because I’m a little rat.
I mean I could see 120 chapters in 24 episodes but not 12
same, 24 or they should make tokyo ghoul re in 54 episodes but 12 episodes (10 chapters a episode) is like gonna be so rushed,like 1 episodes per volume

Everything about this anime and how the manga just ended has me fucked sideways. It is devastating how such a masterpiece was allowed to go to complete waste. I sympathize with Ishida after reading everything he included in the Afterwords of the final volume but god damn, a couple of simple breaks could have avoided so much downfall for him and the story as a whole. Considering Togashi is his biggest inspiration he should have taken some notes out of his book and just gone on a hiatus :/
Viktor Paraskov Ishida didn't want to go on a hiatus since he knew that he might of not been able to finish the story so he rushed it. I feel so bad for him especially how Studio Pierrot is treating his series

Well, I've always defended the anime, saying it's not that bad and it can be worse, but I can not do it after what I heard now.
What I hope is that a day will come that this manga will get a dignified adaptation.
I honestly feel like Tokyo Ghoul Re (In fact the entire series) should have been done by Madhouse. They'll most likely get Tokyo Ghoul accurate to the manga.
They did do Great mangas like Death Note and Hunter X Hunter and their animation was fantastic. Studio Perriot animation felt lackluster and stiff to me. At least Madhouse could get close to Ishida's style
So many problems would of been avoided if Madhouse animated Tokyo Ghoul

I wish I never watched Tokyo ghoul, because ever since I watched the first episode it was my favorite anime, but to watch it get dropped on it's head by the producers just makes me so sad. I had so much hope so much but I don't even know anymore.

I honestly love you just shredding it like this because it's honestly is true. This is insane and I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that the first season already fell flat. They really aren't making good decisions for the anime so it's hard to get new people to enjoy it because it's so mediocre. The whole ass manga is more than 300 chapters so no one wants to read that shit. (And I don't blame them)

I 100% agree with you. I wish I could recommend the anime to people so they don't have to read the manga, but they wouldn't get a full grasp of the series. It has nice animation and everything, but the pacing is a train wreck, and what they're doing with season 2 isn't going to be pretty either

He said he enjoyed drawing it in the past recent weeks leading to its ending, so it didn't drop quality because it took a toll on him. Not saying it didn't throughout making the whole series though.
Man all of the channels like these make it seem like that Tokyo Ghoul is just too long and complex of a story to animate. Most if not all animation companies either dont have the resources or just straight up are unwilling to properly adapt the series to the detail that pleases the fans of the series. Which is a shame, because Tokyo Ghoul has always been a favorite of mine.

As an anime only fan I jumped into the manga a little while ago and only finished it recently. I loved it. As a first time manga reader and a Tokyo ghoul fan and I recommend reading it highly. It’s a shame anime only fans will have it end like this.

i got into the series a little bit late so i watched the anime and didn't even bother with the manga but as i started off season 2 or re i noticed that right off the bat the characters had different designs there are new characters in the story, their starting a war on aogiri and it was at that point i noticed they skipped a bunch of stuff from the manga. it was a little weird seeing all of that just be dropped in with little context.
This guy has given the most legit opinion on the whole of the Tokyo Ghoul adaptation. Honestly i havent read the manga cuz from the beginning i have been watching the anime thinking that the anime would be just as great and basically the same as the manga, just animated. But after hearing so many people's thoughts on this I have realised that the anime is just hot garbage compared to the manga and now i have to go read the whole freaking manga cuz I just wasted my time on the anime. But the good thing is, I loved the anime, I hadn't read the manga but if the anime was shit, i guess the manga will be paradise for me

Idk why people keep saying this it’s not confirmed usually people just to conclusions because it’s the 2nd part so people assume it’ll be 12 episodes but it hasn’t been confirmed by the studio it’s self because it’s impossible to fit 121 chapters in 12 episodes it’s literally impossible even if they do skip stuff, but with 24 episodes it’s possible if they do 5 chapters an episodes and Part 1of Re did that with some decent pacing.
tyshawn fertil I know right cause if they do 24 episodes the Cochlea/Rue Island arc will take at least 6 to 7 episodes and then the Clown arc would maybe take 5 episodes and then the Dragon arc would take up the last 12 episodes

tyshawn fertil Nothing's 100% official. But you don't get 36 episode cours as far as I know. It's either 24 eps over 2 seasns or 48 over 2 seasons. I do hope they don't leave us in the dark for too much longer whichever way this goes.
We'll just have to wait and see hopefully we get some details next month cause yeah apparently Studio Pierrot hasn't confirmed it yet, but what if when it says split-cour it could actually mean a split-cour for season two cause when Tokyo Ghoul Re was announced it was never stated being a split-cour cause it ended up getting the title of Tokyo Ghoul season 3

I always just tell people to red the manga, or if they watch the anime (which I still will watch it) just think of it as a different version of the story lacking a lot of the great parts of the manga. I am a huge fan oh TG and highly recommend the manga over the anime.

This type of thoughtless ranting is what sells. It appeals to the nature of people who want to vent out their frustration rather than attempt to explain the reasoning behind the situation. It's like a child crying and whining why the parents can't take him to Disneyland every day.
What some people refuse to accept is that the editor simply cannot demand for more budget and force studios to do another season so they can have a more faithful manga adaptation. In this situation, Tokyo Ghoul has the rare opportunity to provide a complete anime adaptation of the series, despite being somewhat rushed. The chances that the series will recieve another offer for an anime season after the manga has ended is slim. The manga just ended and is still relevant but a year or two from now, as the number of readers and volume purchases dwindle, so do the chances of getting an animated season.
It's a choice between having a complete anime version of the manga where some details are omitted **or** foolishly risk never finishing the story in the anime in an attempt to focus more on having a near 100% faithful adaptation. It's not an ideal situation but I understand why things went down the way they did.
as i would like to see the source (or at least a mention if it's your speculation) i don't care about the anime to the point that i want to watch the anime more than ever if this news is true. 10 volumes in 12 episodes, i don't i heard that being done before (and tg have tons of information drop in many chapters) it would be a revolution of how to f*** up the series.

I was a anime only when I first watched tokyo ghoul and I had finished the first two seasons and I was happy with it I thought it was great but I would always see that toyo ghoul would be getting a lot of hate. I would see alot of people say read the fucking manga if you want a true experience and eventually I did then I realised how amazing the manga is compared to the anime.
