WELL DONE. Thanks for taking the time to help others find their way through the secret world of KUBOTA maint.
Top notch!! I’m getting ready to do this service on my ZD323 this weekend. Glad I found your video!!
I have the ZG327. Your video is so helpful. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
I needed to see instructions for a 327 but trust I learned from your clear video a few great suggestions. thanks!
Outstanding instruction. Thanks. This saved me a ton of time!
Glad to hear and thanks for watching 🔧👍🏻
This intimidated me prior to watching the video. Thank you!
Glad it helped 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Spot on....well done and to the point!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Well done.. greatly appreciate the info.
Great quick video, just helped me out without any guess work 👍👍
Glad it helped 👍🏻
Thank you for posting this!
No problem, glad it helped!
You actually take out both top & bottom rear trans. case bolts. The bottom one to drain, the top one to breathe when filling. The top bolt hole will also give you the correct level when filling.
I’m going to take a look at that for sure! I have to change the oil on my zd326 soon
@@RaztechPowersports It says it in the manual & I've just done my ZG222. As soon as it starts coming out of the top hole, it's full. You'll get 5 litres of UDT in at once but you need to start the mower to get the levels across other -wise you'll pour the overflow on the floor. You have to do the other 2.5 litres slowly!!!!
@@myredute I have a ZG222S. Would the way this trans. oil change was done, be the same for my 222s, other than a different capacity of oil? His mower took 12 quarts. The ZG222 takes 7.9. I cant find any videos on my model of mower.
@@johnschweiger6486 I've gotta say John, nobody else knows what a ZG222S Kubota is, including me here in Australia. It might be some sort of hybrid model - you'd better ask the dealer you bought it off. All that being said, it would be the way same for both models in the way you change the oil, as I previously explained. The Trans. fluid is the lifeblood of these great Kubota Zero Turns so you have to do it right. Your owners manual should show you more!
@@myredute I guess I should have clarified, that the letter S on the ZG222, stands for, that the mower deck is stamped as one piece and not a welded deck like a regular 222. Although the engine on the 222, and the 222s are the same. Bottom line, same engine, cheaper deck.
Thanks great video straight to the point very helpful thanks awesome
Glad it helped 🏁
thanks, I just did the service on a ZD326H with a 72" deck. I missed the axle drains on the first round. I knew something was
wacky when it was over full with 1.5 gal. I drained the "gearbox", set that aside, pulled the drive wheels, and drained the axles. I didn't have trouble on the refill. I started it and let it run for a few minutes(that filled the filters). and got all the oil in.
Don't you just love the price of UDT2 and the filters. LOL
Yes they are very proud of there oil and filters 🙃 glad to hear you got it figured out 👍🏻
I change engine oil every 100 hours. I change hydro filters at the same time. Then I add about 1 gallon of hydraulic oil and done.
good information
Excellent video very well done Thank you
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Perfect. Thank you
Thanks for watching 🛠️
I’ve turboed my zd331 as well as removed a fuel pump shim to change timing and turned the fuel screw best thing I’ve ever done, period
I’m tempted to do it to my zd326 🧐

Check this guy out. This is where I got the idea to turbo mine.
@@johnnyappleseed9254 haha I’ve actually already saw it! Awesome build 👍🏻
👍
I have a ZD1211 (2021 model) and your instructions are very helpful. I wish I watched the video before I started the work 🙂
The way to make an informative video.
Glad it helped 👍🏻
nice detail, Thanks
Thanks for watching 🏁
Thank you.
Thanks for watching 🔧
What kind of hydronic fluid ,Sir?
You don't have to take that breather apart to add oil, that whole black breather lifts out and has an O ring.
My compliments, the video was very well done. Question regarding the outdrives at the wheels; my old ZD21 had a place to refill each of the outdrives. Can't find one on the 331. Is there a place to refill the left and right outdrives on the ZD331 or does it just main pump push hydro into them when it's restarted when the last gallon goes in? Thanks for the advice and video.
I don’t believe there is a left and right fill plug. Hydraulics are a self priming system. I feel like the fluid just find its way.
Thank you. My older model 2004 ZD21 (the ZD331 replaced it) did have filler & drain plugs on each side. I never noticed the filler plug on the ZD331 and didn't drain them the last fluid change. So, I'll do it the correct way this time... Many thanks Sir! -Bob
BTW, I bought a new ZD1215 2.5 years ago to replace the ZD331. It hasn't been started in 2 years. Not nearly as good as the 331.
Thanks, changed the engine oil today , and need to tackle this also.
What weight oil did you use? thanks
In the engine? Rotella t6
@@RaztechPowersports thanks for your help
What filter is used for the 400hr the one underneath the mower
I believe i have it linked in the description
Would the procedure on this mower, be the same for a ZG222, other than the quantity of oil? Your mower took 12.8qts. My zg222 takes 7.9. Thanks.
99% yes. Diesel and gas comercial kubotas use the same trans
@@RaztechPowersports No. the 2 series has 1 filter and a strainer. The strainer must be removed and cleaned. Its in the OP manual, page 76 on my zd221, which is the same as gas ZG222.
Some people elude to removing the top breather plug on the axle cases to fill easier, but my manual says nothing about that. If that's the case, probably simpler to just yank the wheels at this point.
What fluid did you use?
Super udt2, I have a link in the description
@@RaztechPowersports great thank you
😢 mine 2020 not in same area,Wasted time
Ahh yeah the newer generation are going to be different
