I bought this machine. It’s unbelievable. Best mower on the market. You cannot find a 30hp diesel anywhere else I have to mow a 20acre ranch each week and this machine does it in 4-5hrs
Purchased a 60HP Kubota utility tractor in 2017. Loved it so much that I returned to the dealership within 12 months and bought my first zero turn, a Z421. To this day, I regard those two pieces of equipment as two of the best decisions of my life. Orange ATW. 😀
My sister and I jointly bought a ZD21 in 2004. We traded it in on a ZD1211 3 years ago. The 1211 is a huge improvement over the ZD21. Much easier to maintain. I'm glad we didn't buy the ZD15 version - sounds like that engine was a PITA. I'll be in the Carlisle store tomorrow (where I bought the 1211) to see how much that air ride seat costs. I'm 81 years old and mow 3 acres. My 79 year old sister and I share the mower. She mows 2.5 acres with it, so does my nephew. I think I'd love that seat. Might have to drive to Mount Joy to sit on one to convince my partners in the mower.
I agree a air ride seat is a must w/2 acres it is hard to get 3-4 years out of residential mowers my price point is 9-12,000.00 because of cost of repairs I under stand cost have almost doubled since 3 years ago thanks for sharing.

Im a landscape business owner and the price of these mowers and equipment are getting crazy. Im seeing some over $30k now. The amount that has to be charged to the customer to pay for the mower and pay yourself is substantially going up. There has to be a stopping point somewhere. I was at my local dealer last tuesday and they have a new mower thats $45,000. My newest mower i bought last year has increased $1,800 above what i paid last year.

My ZD1211 cutting 12 acres of grass up and down hills on our small family farm, worth every penny!! Yearly maintenance plus deck wheels on my 72” rear discharge… easy to order parts from Messicks!! I wouldn’t trade it for anything!! Make sure to grease those zerk fittings weekly!!
@@rswart14 Thanks for asking!! If yours does not have them, make sure you have the rear wheel shields that will help keep the grass from kicking up in your mesh to the engine and then into the radiator… I ordered them on Messick’s by looking up the parts. There was zero information anywhere. I saw someone with them with my same setup and was blown away mine was missing them. With a blower, I’m blowing out my radiator twice a cut. Keep your eye on the temp gauge!! I cut my grass on 3.5 and it strips very nice, very tall grass will clump a little. The rubber flaps on the deck are worthless, thin and over priced. I purchased cheap semi truck mud flaps and cut it down and got longer bolts for them. I use gator blades, I was using the standard recommended blades but switched with no regrets. I grease everything every cut with Kubota’s Polyurea. This is my second season without any issues. I have just under 700 hours on it. I replace the wheels on the deck yearly. Hope this helps!!
I thank The Good Lord I bought my ZD331P in 2011 when people told me I was crazy for buying a 15,000 dollar mower. It’s a 31hp diesel that has none of the emissions or particulate filter stuff on it. It has been a wonderful mower with no issues at all. It’s the first mower I have owned with no problems. I wouldn’t get rid of it for anything and I plan on passing it down to my son. There is no way I would be able to afford it now because it would easily be over 30,000 dollars now.
We have a 2012 zd326 w 60" side discharge deck. Bought new it's the last year made of the zd326. Completely happy since day one. 0 issues. I look forward to using it every time
I totally agree with you the smallest jd zero turn in Norway costs more than the biggest lawn tractor in the 100 series and I use that one for all different jobs if would spend that amount on a machine that just cuts grass I'm getting a husqvarna robot mower
@@sap3055 The first time I saw a Husqvarna robot mower was at the Oslo airport in 2018. It was fascinating to watch. Still had a guy standing there watching with a controller of some sort. Very cool.
@@DensityMatrix1 I'm in a similar situation, except the tractor is an MX. The tractor depreciates about $10 per hour. The mower depreciates about $3 per hour. For dinky little tasks like hauling t-posts I just tow a trailer behind the mower. For the bigger jobs, I run the MX.
I have two friends who traded their tractors in for one of these (obviously not farmers.. just home owners with acreage). They used their tractors a lot while building their houses but once building was finished, they mainly only used their tractors to finish mow 5-10 acres. They realized they could trade their tractors in for one of these and cut their payment nearly in half while getting a better cut in half the time. Both of them are very happy with their decision.
That mower is a beast ! Perfect for large yards! You’ve keyed on torque. Yes that’s what Diesel engines are known for & they can last . As with any machine regardless of what it is maintenance is key to its longevity & reliability. If you take care of it it will take care of you & serve you well
That's a beast Neil!!! Still love my old ZD28 around our farm. Just over 700 original hrs on it and wouldn't trade it for anything! 🙂 Kubota makes the best zero turns! Thanks for the video!
Zd28 is a beauty! My friends dad has one, I used it a couple times. It pushed me to trade my Exmark on a zd211 and what an upgrade. The low tone of the diesel is so much easier on the ears than the racket of the gas engine.
@@ekitt7629 Yeah I won't be paying that much either. But hey 1.5 is pretty low to have a nice looking lawn. Most people would be scalping at that height. Keep up the good work!
I have a friend that bought one years ago. After 10 years he traded it in for a new one and the trade allowance was more than he originally paid. Of course it was maintained by the dealer and looked almost new but to use something for 10 years and get your money back is a testament to this company’s product.
Not really. While I'll agree that Kubota is a bit like Apple in that the resale value tends to be higher, it really has nothing to do with Kubota and was not unique. It was the pandemic nonsense and rising prices. Case in point, pre-pandemic I got a Honda CRV with 9,000 miles on it in early 2018. By 2021, I had 40,000 miles on it and was getting solicited by my dealer to trade it in because they were short on vehicles. For shits and giggles I took it in to see the trade in value. Basically they were going to offer close to what I paid for it except for the sales tax mount. I kept it because it made sense and I needed a vehicle but to have a vehicle for 4 years and put 30,000 miles on it for essentially the cost of sales tax only...!!! That's the crazy stuff that was happening. Keep in mind 2 liters of soda when from $1.50 to $3.99. A case of 60 eggs went from &.48 to I shit you not almost $30. WILD!!! I seriously hope the price of everything crashes (and it most likely will at some point) and then everything everywhere has a surplus again. Buyers' market!
I have a ZD1211 with over 300 hours on it. To adjust the height, I always raise the six foot deck to its highest position, with the foot pedal, and then turn the knob to the height I want, then lower the deck.
at 14:45 you say in a lot of ways these kubota diesels aren't the best out there? As and owner of the ZD1211 since 2017 and heavy farm use I completely Disagree! They are the best I've seen!
One thing you did not mention. I was going through lawn tractor type mower every year. I bought a ZD 21 in 2000 I cut 6 acres of rough ground once a week and sometimes twice a week. It still keeps going. The only thing I wish is I had bought a higher HP model. or an F series. Because you can't drink your water without stopping on a Zero Turn.
Its amazing how much better diesels do vs gassers in thick grass (where they need to lug a bit). I've run a Ferris mower with a 61" deck and a 35 horse Kawasaki vs running our 2004 BX2230 with a 60" deck. It's amazing the difference between the 22 horse 3-cyl diesel vs the 35 horse V-Twin gasser.
Forget horsepower. Look at lb ft of torque. That's the number that matters. Diesels often have double the torque vs. horsepower while gassers are often less torque than horsepower.
Though I also like the diesel, some of my customers complain about blade speed with the lower RPM this seems to be more so in steep lawns that we have here in VT.
My biggest complaint of those Kubota diesel motors, ZTRs/compact tractors/UTVs is I have not met one that would not constantly overheat. I personally had one that blew up the motor due to constant overheating issues, had another friend scalded when the radiator blew up in his ZTR, and ran another compact tractor that I couldn't keep cool when I mowed with it. Didn't matter how much you cleaned the radiators, washed them out, blew them out, they just did not have enough capacity to keep them cool under heavy constant load in 90 degree plus heat. Very reluctant to go back to a diesel mower without having some proof that these newer ones will cool better than the last generation machines.
Even the older z d 28 s had over heat alarms, and had to wait for the dang thing to cool down, the cooling system is not adequate enough at least on the older units, had and have bx tractors and have a l 39 back hoe no problem s with over heating , in my experience a air cooled “ z “ is the way to go, the “ kiss “ principle applies, also hydro wheel motor s not a transmission , it’s easier to slap on a new motor than replace or rebuild a trans and dam cheaper! Or even the the engine itself, a diesel engine cost a crap load plus difficult to replace
I dunno Neil…I presume your gas Ferris has the 40HP Vanguard ECT engine. Those are known to do 1.3 to 1.5 gallons per hour on a 72” deck which is quite efficient. Diesel is still $.60 per gallon more than regular unleaded, so it takes a long time for the greater efficiency of the diesel to catch up. And those Big Block Vanguard engines with EFI and ECT are beasts.
Tyler I have one of those big block Vanguards set up to run off propane in my generator, it's been fantastic! Neil, I wanted to ask for clarification - in regards to the older engine you mention that consumes a surprising amount of fuel - are you referring to your old B3350, the newer LX3310, or the former Z-turn this model replaces?
Uh there is no gas engine of any size on any traditional zero turn that will run less than 1.5 gph. I'd expect a 40hp gas to be the 3 to 4 gph running a 72 at capacity.
Fuel consumption is going to depend on mower deck size, grass height, type, density, and dryness; mower and rider weight, and finally the terrain you are mowing. For an average season mowing weekly on relatively flat ground, yeah…the Vanguard EFI / ECT can hit those numbers. It’s been well documented on Lawnsite.
Here in Europe there is almost only robot mowers even on golf courses and football arenas at the large areas there's usually cut by multiple robot mowers this has taken a lot of jobs I was thinking about starting a lawn care business her in Norway but everyone has a robot mower so that was not a good idea this seems to be totally different in the US where everyone still uses petrol powered zero turn mowers
When I purchased my first ZTR I got a used Woods and it was not a good machine, overall, but it had a Kubota diesel and that was the best thing about it. I sold it and bought a very used but well maintained Kubota ZD25. It had 1200 hrs on it and now has over 2000 hrs. I will never buy a gas powered mower again. Thanks to @MessicksEquip for helping me out with parts needed to keep my machines running.
I purchased my ZG327P-60 on May 5, 2009 $8,500.00. I mow about 7 acres every week or more in the spring. I often mow my daughters and sons lawn over an acre each. In these 14 years the ONLY thing I have replaced is the battery three times and one set of new blades. I change the oil and filters EVERY year and change Hydraulic oil and filters at recommended intervals and of course lube often. I love my Kubota Mowers and two tractors..... Bx2360 and B3350 with cab. BUT, I think Kubota is trying to become the new John Deere with UNREASONABLY prices. The basic technology has not changed that much. What can this $27,000 mower do that my mower cannot do?
I bought a ZD1211 brand new in 2017 for $14,7000 that I use to mow 10 acres weekly on my farm. Never understood how Kubota can justify now charging $21,000 for the 1211 and NOT install the same air ride seat that the 1611 has! I think someone willing to drop 21k on a machine like this has paid more than enough to get the air ride seats. Not to mention 1211's are the most popular Kubota diesels for farmers like myself, I don't know anyone with a 1611 and the 1011 and 1021 is too small and price difference doesn't justify them over the 1211 for only $1,800 more! DEF/REGEN really turn farmers off, we hate that crap and will avoid it at all cost! I know lots of farmers who won't even buy new tractors, they look for 20 year old tractors without all the crap on them that cost them a fortune and slows them down from getting work done. Kubota needs to swallow their pride on the 1211's and give us our monies worth with the Air ride seats! Ridiculous!!!
Zd21 with 1100hrs on it, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Cut 3 acres a week and it never skips a beat. The bagillion zerk fittings are a pain in the ass, but aside from that it’s amazing!!
That thing looks like an absolute tank! I use to run a zd331, now we've switched to Bad Boy Standers. I much prefer the 331 but I'm not the guy using it every day. I agree with your comments about the diesel and the torque.
Parks, townships, recreation areas all run Kubota mowers. Not much in residential landscapes guys running these products.I run a ZD 1011,2017 model year,I really like it,its a tank.BUT,I will say,My all time favorite mower was a John deere F525 front mount,I regret selling it.
I have the zd1211 and absolutely love it.just my yard is 5hrs alone (cut 4 others)so I've been comparing the new 1611 vs 3710(hear they are smoother an better).which is a video I would like for you to do...which one is the better buy??thanks
You said that this may not be the best mower, well I can say I bought the top of the line Honda HR2163HXC with blade brake, hydrostatic transmission, bagger, mulch, side discharge and by many, some would say it isn't the best but everyone's definition of "best" varies. I bought the Honda commercial walk behind because I am already familiar with that kind of mower having owned one that was very much like it from the mid 1980s, specifically from 1985. It, in my opinion is the best built machine of any other in its size class of 21" wide due to the heavy duty clutch brake, shaft driven hydrostatic transaxle and the commercial grade Honda engine, which is a model that Honda still makes to this day since the mid 80s. I also own the model below it, the HRX217HXC, it has a GCV190 engine, similar features to the commercial but it's great for mulching with its "versamow clip director" baffle. Again, is it the best mower? It all depends on who you ask. I wish I could afford a Kubota BX or even the F series tractors but they are out of my price range for the foreseeable future. What do I have in its place? a couple of Cub Cadet Series 2000 tractors and a Walker. They're all over 25 years old but that's what I can afford.
Currently use an old Toro zero turn, 72" 20something hp gas toro engine. I do love the machine, it is my first zero turn and it does the job just fine. I've mowed down tall grasses more suited to a brush hog. Pitched it on angles in ditches that would make anyones butt pucker. It has been fantastic on my 3 rough acres and virtually maintenance free. All for a very low price used from marketplace. I would absolutely love to replace it with a diesel. My only complaint about that mower is it absolutely drinks fuel. With just 3 acres I cannot finish a mow on one tank of fuel, and I believe the tank is just about 3.5 gallons? Comparatively, my lx2610 barely sips fuel at nearly the same hp. I've ran it doing dirt work while my wife mows and had to stop on several occasions now to retrieve her the gas can (No fuel gauge). While the fuel tank on the kubota is double the size at 7 gallons I can run it nearly non stop all day without refueling while the zero turn only manages two hours or so. Its quite the expensive little bugger to operate. Diesels are also much quieter. But as Neil stated, the price point is the turn off. Even on the used market a diesel zero turn is 3x the price of a gas model of similar size. Which just isn't justifiable outside of commercial use. I'd love it if they made a more budget friendly one, I'd make the switch immediately.
It's nice that Kubota builds it from the ground up but if you ever need to work on a major component (eng or trans etc) the Toro's, Hustler and Exmark variety are easier to work on, imo. My only other problem with a diesel Z is the weight, you're talking at least a few hundred pounds more. Those Kubota diesel engines will run forever though.
IF Kubota offered the 1611 with an 84" deck, I would consider it. Otherwise it's just a more expensive and slightly higher powered 1211. The 72" ZD1211 is adequately powered for my use.
Seeing these new diesel mowers come out at the price points, makes my purchase of a 725D grasshopper even better in my mind…i bought it with ~700 hrs and I could never justify having/ needing a diesel, but I’m sure happy I have it now…it only took my other air-cooled model granading itself and finding one on the used market to make it worthwhile I can only dream about buying a new mower anymore, knowing that my diesel hopper will probably be a lifetime mower with the needed upkeep/maintenance
Is your mower deck under your mower, or out in front of it? I'm going to buy the one with the deck out in front I had a friend that had one and I really liked it
I've noticed commercial mowers climbing into the $20-20K+ range so is $27K really that much of a hike. If you are an already established landscape contractor budgeting a machine like this may work.
Neil, does kubota still make the zg200 and zg300 series? You didn’t mention it when discussing the series. I just bought a zg332 60” used and love it! Expensive to maintain and goes thru a lot of gas. None the less still great though!
That thing is a real beast. I'm still not sold on the emissions engines though. It's pathetic that the government saddles us with all that mess. 🤬 I have a ZD26 that has been flawless, but only around 350 hours so far. The fact that it only has 2 belts, and the shaft drive deck and Kubota tranny, without all the external hoses was the big deciding factor to go with Kubota over Ferris. I liked the Ferris suspension, but I still think I made the right choice long-term. Hopefully it'll last the rest of my life. 😎
Thanks for this video! You mentioned the engine being problematic with the F3990. How is the engine on the new F3710? Does it have any of the regen issues the F3990 was reported to have been plagued with?
That's funny because when I brought my zd 1511 in with emissions problems they acted like I was the only person that ever had problems. They just sent me an information packet recently on regeneration procedures. It cost over 2000 for 1 part of the dpf to get fixed. How about a part number for the delete kit? Al that aside this mower is a beast. I'm mowing a 9 acre yard with some steep hills and this mower acts like it's on flat ground.. can't wait to delete it.
$27K for a zero turn mower is pure insanity. No zero turn mower is worth that much, guess people like throwing their $$$$ away just like when purchasing overpriced vehicles.
The capacity to operate for 5,000 hours or longer if serviced correctly is better than some petrol engine equivalent that will struggle to see 1,000 hours. A shaft driven deck is also essential to reduce maintenance costs.
My boss purchased one for our chicken houses two years ago to get around easier than the bush hog and tractor. The ride is a little uncomfortable but over all it does 10 acres fine.
I have the 26hp model from about 12 years ago, the ZD326. It is a tank. I have stalled fewer times than I have fingers. I honestly do not believe there is any better mower regardless of what specs show on paper. The only possible zero turn I have ever seen what a machine that had a suspended operator platform, controls and all. Anything that reduces the strain on wrists would help. One note, I use the mower on a farm. I constantly have to mow vegetation, tall weeds and grass taller than 12". The ground is not normally smooth enough to go more than max speed or I would bounce off the machine. I will have to call the parts dept about the air-ride seat.
Cost to benefit ratio comes into play. That's why most professional commercial mowers still use gas. If you can afford it there is no doubt in my mind it's once of the finest mowers on the market. I personally choose to stay with my 25 HP gasser. It sucks fuel like a drunk.
If it is maintained it will last for ever! I paid 6,000+ for mine vs the 2000, for other mowers It has been running great ! If you were young and paid $27,000 and kept it running 25 or years that is not so bad. And Kubota still has parts available. Will the other company even be in business?
Homeowner use it will last 25 years but then again a homeowner buying a mower for $27,000 would hire it done. It want last in a commercial business for 25 years. Over time the cost of repairs and the amount of down time would be to costly. Here we cut 8 - 9 months out of the year.
I know this is a bit off topic, but We bought a Kubota GR 2120 diesel nearly $2000 cheaper than a deluxe 720 John Deere with a gasoline engine. In my book, that makes the Kubota a much more attractive value than the competition. I have been a Deere guy all my life and still have an older John Deere large gas mower that I am not willing to part with. It stays hooked to a lawn vac. In a head to head comparison between the Deere and the Kubota, the Kubota wins in nearly everything. When it comes to mowing, the Kubota will mow circles around the Deere. That is saying something because the Deere is certainly no slouch. Kubota needs to toot their horn more about their glide steer feature. That is amazing. For those who may disagree with what I am saying, pay close attention when you drive by a John Deere dealer. Then pay attention driving by a Kubota dealer. You will see John Deere products at the Kubota dealership. You will very seldom see Kubota equipment at John Deere.
For $27k, I sure as hell hope it has a bagger option LOL. Heck I could get a bagger for the 60" mid mount mower for my BX2680...although its extremely expensive, there's an option. Would be interesting to see what grass collection system they do have for this machine though, I would think it would need some sort of blower type setup on it, maybe combined with a clam-shell dump box that you can dump without leaving the seat.
This is obviously a "commercial" commercial mower for corporations, businesses, universities and colleges and estates or such. Beautiful (expensive) machine like a Toro or Jacobsen.
Diesels have some very good points over Gasoline engines. Unfortunately maintenance, parts, fuel & DEF fluid take there toll on the wallet. Would be nice to know the warranty period on the emission system, engine & transmission. Maybe Mr. M could address the warranty issue.
I bought this machine. It’s unbelievable. Best mower on the market. You cannot find a 30hp diesel anywhere else I have to mow a 20acre ranch each week and this machine does it in 4-5hrs

0 issues. I look forward to using it every time
Sadly a zero turn mower can only do one thing. I can buy a lot of tractor for that money.
It does that one thing very well. I don’t own a zero turn so I’m not biased. I’d prefer to have an out front mower.
Very cool.
I own a Kubota zero turn and a L series tractor. They fill different roles.
Speed, safer for my family to use, more comfortable, easier on the turf
I've had my zd28 for many years it has served me really well. has a lot of good on that machine.
@@14moldyhamsandwich zd28 will outlast it 10 fold.
Absolutely LOVE and I mean LOVE that front jack. I'd buy one for that reason alone.
I run a Toro 7500D Zero at work. And boy howdy I gotta say, the thing chews through whatever I throw at it with EASE.
“A little bit on the expensive side”🤦♂️.. my 20 year old $100 craftsman still mows my yard like a golf course green. $27,000. You’re nuts!
I mean, this is probably more for someone doing commercial mowing to start. I'm guessing you are not doing that with a $100 craftsman
Golf course greens are between 0.11"-0.25", fairways are 0.375"-0.6" and roughs are a minimum of 0.75" but often >2". Which height are you cutting at?
@@bgb702 I think it was an expression of how ridiculous a $27,000 mower is. But since you asked, I now on the 1.5” setting.
I have a ZD1211. Wonderful machine. My only (thing) is the hight adjustment knob is a pain in the butt. It can be very difficult to adjust.
I have a new ZD1211, to say its awesome is an understatement!
My Z422 has exceeded my expectations. Love the Kawasaki. Eats acres and acres of grass.
For $27k, I would expect it to come with a cab.
I think that's another 15k
One thing you did not mention. I was going through lawn tractor type mower every year. I bought a ZD 21 in 2000 I cut 6 acres of rough ground once a week and sometimes twice a week. It still keeps going. The only thing I wish is I had bought a higher HP model. or an F series. Because you can't drink your water without stopping on a Zero Turn.
Get a Camel Pack
I'd like to have an iso style control just one hand to drive it
Its amazing how much better diesels do vs gassers in thick grass (where they need to lug a bit).
Nice review, Neil. That thing is a beast, for sure.
I’m so sorry about that Kubota mower in the house fire I know it was in the past but I love those mowers glad everyone is ok keep up the good videos
Bought a 300 dollar, old Murray. Runs and mows like a champ.
Very reluctant to go back to a diesel mower without having some proof that these newer ones will cool better than the last generation machines.
the newer ones do have overheat alarms on them. We have seen that though, you do need to keep the radiators clean.
I go through nearly 5 gallons to do 2 acres in 1:15, yes.. with that engine. I'd trade it for a Kubota diesel in a heartbeat.
@@tylerd4522 b3350, same engine used in the zd1511 and F3990
6:19 4 horse power model tuned to 31? Did you intend to say 4 cylinder?
6:18 Is that correct, 4 horsepower tuned to 31 horsepower!?
Zd21 with 1100hrs on it, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Cut 3 acres a week and it never skips a beat. The bagillion zerk fittings are a pain in the ass, but aside from that it’s amazing!!
How much would it cost to come down there and play with all the equipment for a few days? 😊
That thing looks like an absolute tank! I use to run a zd331, now we've switched to Bad Boy Standers. I much prefer the 331 but I'm not the guy using it every day. I agree with your comments about the diesel and the torque.
i'd like to see side by side comparing bad boy renegade with perkins diesel in cutting.
A very nice machine and honest review !
I have four acres and I bet this will chew through that wild grass…. I love this ZTR
Still running an 08 ZD326P, only 1000 hours on it.
That mower is so big, Neal sitting there reminds me of Gallagher in his huge rocking chair!!
What the heck pooped on the turbo at 6:25 ?
I think I need to buy a mower am looking at the grasshopper wonder about a comparison video
Thinking I can replace a tractor and bush hog with this maybe to keep the fields down?
IKR!! I have a 12 hp 84" mower deck and I regularly brush hog with it. I even accidentally mowed over an oak tree once.
I got 2 1211 on my trailer. I dont see anyone else in my area with diesels. If they only knew lol
Kubota is the most rugged by far
It's nice that Kubota builds it from the ground up but if you ever need to work on a major component (eng or trans etc) the Toro's, Hustler and Exmark variety are easier to work on, imo. My only other problem with a diesel Z is the weight, you're talking at least a few hundred pounds more. Those Kubota diesel engines will run forever though.
I mow with a Kubota diesel and it seriously fucks up the lawn, it's ok as I only do low income apartments but you could never to residential with it.
@nocoolname32 I can relate to that, I've had a few of their tractors but switched over to Exmark and I'll probably never go back.
IF Kubota offered the 1611 with an 84" deck, I would consider it. Otherwise it's just a more expensive and slightly higher powered 1211. The 72" ZD1211 is adequately powered for my use.
Get those mower decks further forward like the grasshopper
Seeing these new diesel mowers come out at the price points, makes my purchase of a 725D grasshopper even better in my mind…i bought it with ~700 hrs and I could never justify having/ needing a diesel, but I’m sure happy I have it now…it only took my other air-cooled model granading itself and finding one on the used market to make it worthwhile
I can only dream about buying a new mower anymore, knowing that my diesel hopper will probably be a lifetime mower with the needed upkeep/maintenance
Is your mower deck under your mower, or out in front of it? I'm going to buy the one with the deck out in front I had a friend that had one and I really liked it

"Umm, honey....how much do you think we would get if we sold one of the kids???"
I am just surprised with the HP jump that you can not get it with a deck larger than 72". Seems like a no brainer to me.
Great mower. These are diesels.
That thing is a real beast. I'm still not sold on the emissions engines though. It's pathetic that the government saddles us with all that mess. 🤬
I have a ZD26 that has been flawless, but only around 350 hours so far.
Does it have any of the regen issues the F3990 was reported to have been plagued with?
same change is happening here F3710, LX3520, LX4020, ZD1611 are all this new engine that used to be in the B3350, ZD1511, F3990.
@@MessicksEquip thanks!
So is the new engine trouble free, unlike the old one?
That's what we are expecting.@@dlmp70
I love the 40hp cat diesel turboed ferris mower with suspension on all corners only way to go in my eyes if mowing alot
But i do agree about the warrety service makes it a pain in the ass especially when u gotta go through cat but i still think it’s well worth it
My neighbor has the Cat powered Ferris mower, have you seen the nightmare of belts on that thing?
27k for a zero turn mower. That makes sense I’d buy 3 of them start a mowing business and mow for 35 dollars a lawn.
Having all diesel farm equipment and a bulk diesel fuel tank, a diesel powered zero turn mower was a no brainer.
Do they offer a wide wing mower option like Toros ??
No, they need to.
Diesel has a great fit for farmers and rural businesses that have an on-site source of off-road diesel and don't want to constantly fill up gas cans.
Great video Neil! 👍🏻
I will say this... The last time we let Grandpa mow... He reminded us that the 1 ton zero turn does not float and we had to go save him from the pond.
If you have hills. a 4wd tractor is the way to go. No way would I use zero turn on my hills.
That's a machine for the county boys! Look out for it at auction 5 years from now trashed but at a fraction of the price!😂😂😂
The turbocharger is going to be extremely useful when you hit really thick grass. Torque baby.
Hi @messicksequipment, love the videos. Is the air suspension seat a bolt on fit for a 2013 ZD331LP? Thanks in advance.
I don't know.
That 27k kubota will never out cut my 11k scag…waste of money
Cost to benefit ratio comes into play. That's why most professional commercial mowers still use gas. If you can afford it there is no doubt in my mind it's once of the finest mowers on the market. I personally choose to stay with my 25 HP gasser. It sucks fuel like a drunk.
Agree. Most commercial guys rotate their equipment every three years, you won't see the payback flipping it that quickly.
Does hydraulic fluid stay cool now?
Kubota pay once cry once 😢Kubota is the "Toyota " of small power equipment 😊
When will Kubota introduce ZD with GPS?
Mowers of this cost is for Government Agencies. It’s not the person’s money that is pulling the trigger.
Are you able to attach a grass collection system to this mower?
For $27k, I sure as hell hope it has a bagger option LOL. Heck I could get a bagger for the 60" mid mount mower for my BX2680...although its extremely expensive, there's an option. Would be interesting to see what grass collection system they do have for this machine though, I would think it would need some sort of blower type setup on it, maybe combined with a clam-shell dump box that you can dump without leaving the seat.
When I was at the Kubota dealership in Ann Arbor Michigan, four of these bad boys were lined up waiting to go to U of M. 🤷🏽
27k and doesn’t even have a chute discharge flap
This is obviously a "commercial" commercial mower for corporations, businesses, universities and colleges and estates or such. Beautiful (expensive) machine like a Toro or Jacobsen.
I’ll take the seat and the turbo for my ZD326.
Diesels have some very good points over Gasoline engines.
Unfortunately maintenance, parts, fuel & DEF fluid take there toll on the wallet.
Would be nice to know the warranty period on the emission system, engine & transmission.
Maybe Mr. M could address the warranty issue.
Maintenance and fuel is cheaper. No def under 75hp. Few downsides.
@@MessicksEquip Diesel (including offroad) is cheaper than gas in PA? Sounds like I need to move...
@@barelystablefarm7151 no, but diesel fuel economy more than offsets higher pump prices.
