    As a Yank who bought his Classic 350 about a month ago, I did find this video informative enough to actually order the new filter cover from Hitchcock's as well as a bit of touch-up paint. I also enjoyed the ride down those beautiful UK country roads.

      @@ianhughesroyalenfield Hi Ian , I fitted a decat pipe but I took the cheap option of going to my local car exhaust specialist that do custom systems for cars , and asked them to cut me a 435mm length of 39mm stainless pipe and flare the ends out to 40mm ID at the front and 40mm OD at the rear to fit my silencer and header pipe, the front end I've slid directly over the header pipe, and the back end inside the silencer seal , I had to fit a new clamp at the front, and it works perfectly, and sounds fantastic with the standard silencer!
      The cost was the grand total of £30 and some heat proof matt black I had already in the garage!
      It runs a lot better throughout the rev range as well .
      Obviously I haven't got the heat shield anymore as I haven't welded the nut lugs on but I'm not bothered about that , or the mid section hanging bracket , the clamps at each end hold it firmly in place . 👍

    Designed and 3d printed same thing, just installed it at otherwise stock bike, still in run in period. It definitively pulls little better, and i noticed it pops more from exhaust during slow riding gear change. Definitively sign it is getting more air and running at leaner mixture.

    I think the DNA filter itself is unnecessary but just replacing the venturi cover from Hitchcocks away from the snail type should be just as good.
    I heard from an Enfield engineer that letting the engine idle for 5-10 minutes is a waste of time, it just isn't necessary.
    P.S, Video at 07:35 to 08:06 I know how motorists feel about walkers enjoying the countryside but I would delete your personal comments at that scene. Be thankful they were walking on the correct side of the road for oncoming traffic. The horse-crap is definitely a hazard for motorcyclists. Other than that, it's an informative video.

      After a while, I removed the open air intake, and replaced it with the original, as the roar gave me a headache on longer rides. I still have the original fitted now. Eventually, I would like to fit the DNA filter, but with the standard air intake, fit the fuel x lite and would like the cam. Another UA-camr you maybe aware of youtube.com/@TheNorfolkThunderbolt?si=TyQt2YSNIocX6hWo has already fitted some of these, and has the cam ready to fit too. @@ianhughesroyalenfield thankyou very much for your reply, i am wondering if fitting the performance cam might put extra strain on other engine components like the crankshaft? When I have my classic 350 I will be checking with Enfield first before changing things?

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  11 місяців тому

      @MsDenver2 morning Donna. Tigerness has also been busy modifying his 350, here is a link to one of his ua-cam.com/video/kaUzgE9iFQk/v-deo.htmlsi=AEb33Agac2iXbfP1 where he has fitted the decat, the DNA filter and camshaft. The engine is so under stressed, there haven’t been any negative reports after fitting the cam. The ecu still restricts overall performance to 73mph, but the cam changes how the engine performs to that point. I think if you contacted RE, they would say not to carry out any mods to your bike. Any manufacturer would say the same. Cheers

      @@Mr.han_777-v2y you will never get a massive increase in performance from the j series 350. What you will be doing, is simply allowing the engine to breathe better. Maybe giving a bit more acceleration and throttle response, but it won’t be much. Even if you also fit a free flow (straight through) exhaust as well, you might notice a slight increase. Fitting a Fuel X (search UA-cam) would help with fuelling, by making the fuel/air mixture richer. You will never get over 73mph as the ecu has been restricted to that speed. Hope this helps.
