Yes, congratulations on your new Meteor. I have one as well and can recommend the touring seat as well as the windscreen. Both are awesome. During my run in period I discovered a whole bunch of roads that I never rode on. I learned how much fun it is to ride 45 mph or less, very relaxing. And, safer to be away from highways with distracted drivers on cell phones. Cheers, and enjoy!!
Congratulations kiddo. I bought a Meteor exactly like yours six months ago with 1,300 km on the clock just turned 4000 km yesterday. I have been riding this bike constantly even been to the UK. Two with luggage did 350 miles within any problems. The Meteor takes everything in its stride . As the miles go up the bike gets better and better . Enjoy yourselves ride and be safe.Ron from Ireland.
Definitely right about the mileage improving the bike pal, I did a little bit of research and most of those that are unhappy and sell them on have only done 12/1500 miles and they think its now run in and should be faster
You will love it. I'm 64 and have the Classic. The break-in period is tedious. Once you reach the 1200 mile mark and feel comfortable reving the bike out through the gears, you will find that it is even more of a joy.
I have one the same color. A 2023 model. I love mine.. 😁 I'm getting about 75 to 80 MPG with American gallons and we ride around at about 50 MPH most area's here. Almost all of my riding is rural country from home to the store or to my friends. I live in the pacific northwest where it rains 6 months out of the year so it sets a lot but during the summer I use it as much as possible. Mine is treated like a pickup truck with all three racks on the back and I haul as much as possible around when shopping. It saves on gas and it's fun to ride. Most people in America like the larger bikes except me. I'm very happy with mine.
I have a Meteor in Cornwall, great bike for tiny roads and B roads. You can bomb along to the bike's limits and it has such great character and fun factor. Enjoy!
I can’t wait to see the Honda GB350 S, sounds great and looks great too. I wish Honda and RE would use more traditional analogue speedo rather than more modern looking.
You sound a lot older and more mature than your age. On a side note, this is what British motorcycling should be about, a nice little torky classic motorbike, pottering along wide open country lanes in the summer.
Royal enfield the Kings of the single cylinder engines. You have a lovely bike sir, enjoy. I've had 5 RE's and wouldn't buy another brand. I'm getting the 2024 himalayan when I can afford it, its fantastic.
do the full run-in. you will thank yourself for 1000s of miles.also, DNA filter, fuelX, de-cat and if poss performance cam. it makes a brilliant little bike a work of art. i've got a halcyon green 22 classic. best bike i have ever owned and i've owned a few.
@@pommiegranite464 every so often I hear about the fuel gauge issue and wonder what everybody is talking about, my own meteor has a pretty decent gauge that works well until the last 1 1/2 bars but still let's me know how much is in there if I stick it on the centre stand, perhaps I'm too old but I remember when I had to stop and have a look to see what was left and fuel gauges on bikes were always crap near empty because unlike your car bikes by virtue of only having two wheels slop the fuel about especially on the classic flat bottomed tanks on classic style bikes that Is the reason why modern bikes usually have the tank styled to taper down towards the side panels
@@NoelRoots Yes, I've heard the best way to get an accurate fuel gauge reading is to put it on the centre stand - though you shouldn''t have to. Failing that, you can use your trip meter for fill up's. The Meteor is a great little bike, though it does have it's quirks. Thanks for your reply. Ride safe.
I downsized to a 350 Meteor in Blue , June this year , i bought a 9 month old bike which had done 2000 miles so i didnt have the running in palaver, its a nice relaxed bike to ride 😀, its great on m p g , got the blacked out one . Enjoy .
Re the rear shocks - though it is counter-intuitive try going up a setting or two on the pre-load to ease the ride. Many riders have recommended this. If you are modding the bike at all then check out Glyn Owen and Wee Mark for tips. Great choice of 'running-in roads'. Have fun!
Thanks for the comment! This video was recorded in July, I have since done over 2.5k miles on this bike. I ordered the Hagon shocks last week so hopefully they're a bit better :)
If you bought it new then please be patient , it's going to be like going back to the 70,s and ur going to have to run it in, I ran mine nice and steady but ignored the engine revs to a degree it will load the big end and crank bearings too much if you run it as slow as the book tells you , you need to always use the engine with enough revs that it picks up cleanly and is free revving but don't thrash it and that will be the healthiest way to run it in, truthfully after the 1200 is miles run in it was still a bit tight and slow but now at 3500 miles it's free revving and though not fast it's much faster than people think, and after throwing only about £150 at it it's healthy and picks up much more vigorously and is now running at just under 26 hp and still getting around 90 mpg
You have experienced what I did, my first motorcycle I purchased new was a 2007 ninja 650r. It always prompted me to go faster than I cared for, the second thing I found is I don't like commuting to work or long boring rides. I now own a scram 411. It's enough for me .
What insurance company did you use for that price?! I'm 58, had my licence for 20 years (getting back in to biking) and the cheapest I've found is £250 fully comp for a 350 classic.
Bikesure must have ripped me off. I've had my full motorbike licence for 44 years. I had a full no claims bonus for 14 years constant riding but i lost that due to not having a bike for more than 2 years. They charged me £425 full comprehensive with a 3,000 mile limit
@alantheloneranger That is a rip off , I had a B M W K75c for 16 years my insurance went up to £71 fully comp , I sold it and bought a R E 350cc Meteor, my insurance cost £236 , but I was getting stupid quotes, I've been riding continuously for 28 years with full N C D , one insurance company said you can't have that much N C D , what did they want me to do invent an accident, ludicrous statement .
I think it doesn't matter 1000cc or 125 and any thing in between its you that twists the throttle I ride 1000cc fz1n at the age of 66 and yes I can ride fast and do but also what I call a bimbble ride both just as enjoyable ride safe
Started to get worried when you started talking about piston rings, remember the average RE 350 rider can talk about piston rings, fishing, and what day to get discounted food from ASDA. Oh and you don't need oxygen over 50mph despite what they say whilst urinating in a bush.
Sorry Mate, you must feel so inferior if you have to swear like that. Stick to your townie roads and leave the beautiful country lanes to those that have lived with them for their entire life. We don't have to use swear words to drive our lanes. Putting it mildly we don't want your type around our parts thank you!!!

That's a gorgeous bike, I'm very jealous and look forward to seeing more videos. You have to name her.
This is exactly what you should be doing on the meteor and why I love mine getting lost of back roads and exploring its soooo gooood!!

did you also consider the classic 350 and if so what influenced your decision ?
Hi, I did consider it, they're basically the same bike after all! I just fell in love with the matt green meteor is all.
