Pink Floyd Is Superior I don’t actually have a copy of it are usually just listen on UA-cam but I know sometimes in some countries it’s not always available due to copyright issues but I’m sure you can find it somewhere online good luck. Richard made some great solo music
Richard’s voice is beautiful both at face value and sublimely even more so. See-saw on Saucerful of secrets demonstrates this perfectly as does Against the Odds off of Wet dream.
I can't really believe this keyboardist of Pink Floyd is gone. He isn't forgotten. REST IN PEACEFUL PARADISE❤😊😊❤ Richard Wright❤😊😊 Storm Thorgerson, and Sinead O'Connor ❤❤ 😊 thank goodness for you all this in this UA-cam video is awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍 💖 I love Rick Wright 😀 ❤️ 💙
Was the lynch pin in Pink Floyd. Nobody knows it but Richard Wright was ESSENTIAL to the Pink Floyd sound, and what is he talking about he doesn't like his voice on his previous work? His singing in Time and Echoes takes me to another world!
Remarkably humble man by what I hear, but I have always considered him critical to P.F.'s sound, and absolutely love to hear his ethereal, subtle, esoteric way of playing. My favorite keyboardist along with Tony Banks, of all time....So sad he is gone, but not from my head and ears! RIP
The first time I heard Broken China I thought, "Oh man, this is really depressing" and it took me a while before I ever played it again. When I finally did, I started to really appreciate it and the hidden beauty of it. The musicianship is top notch, especially the guitar playing and drumming. Now, I absolutely love this record and feel it definitely deserves a place in the Pink Floyd Pantheon.
bungopony well said. rather than being a product of anger, it is instead a work of reflection and gloomy beauty. I’m happy I was able to get the album.
I LOVE The Floyd in all its different variations. I Believe All of them are Integral to the Pink Floyd Sound. The word Sound is Very Important---Syd, and then Roger, were Great Lyricists, and Words are Very Important, but without the Music, its just a poem. So the Pink Floyd Sound really didn't have a Whole lot to do with Roger, imo, but Everything to do with Rick, Dave and even Nick, who's drumming style is Very Different and Recogniseable. RIP RICK--your Music will Live on inside us FOREVER!!!
I'd say that the five of them were SOUND innovators. Pink Floyd and their members spent their careers searching for new SOUNDS. SOUND is the keyword. Regards.
Guitar, keyboards and space is what true Floyd is for me. The lyrics, while important, were always second to that. I could live without Roger’s mad ranting, but could never live without Rick’s keys and THAT guitar.
You had a beautifully vulnerable voice Rick. Still miss you greatly, but I do feel privileged for having gotten to see you live twice before you passed
"Broken China" is one of my favourite albums. I never knew that it was about depression, but now I understand why I connected so intensively with the music and the lyrics. Suffering from depressions coming and going for decades I have to say that this magnificent album not only mirrors my inner situation perfectly, it also gives me some hope! A real masterpiece and even more so because Rick has no personal experience with clinical depression! I am really sad that he is not with us anymore. Perhaps one day there is a great gig in the sky, where we all come together again, who knows...
What an album, what a musician, what a low profile legend. Rick publicly never got the credits for his contribution to The Pink Floyd band. As a keyboarder I must say: most of us are just players but Rick was a creator. Very outstanding! Just to mention here, Klaus Schulze also is.
I too loved his singing voice when he sang lead with Pink Floyd on tracks like 'Remember A Day', 'Paintbox', 'Summer 68' and 'Stay', or when he shared lead vocals with David Gilmour on 'Time' and 'Burning Bridges'. They sounded so good together when they harmonised on 'Echoes', still one of my favourite Floyd tracks.
Rick May he stays in peace .. didn’t know when he talked about his voice that in spring 94 when I heard it on Wearing the inside out .. I was like in another world .. never heard something alike .. his voice is deep unique and complexe as his keyboards. I discovered Broken China in winter 2002.. it was the album of the year for me ! Unique and profound!
I love Richard Wright. He was a very kind quiet man, but I do feel he could have done so much better by making an album that didn't revolve around his 3rd wife Millie Hobbes's life. I find it incredibly caring and romantic how he learned more about what she went through eith depression, but I feel that was something that should have been kept personal, That's just my honest opinion... I do however really enjoy his 1978 album Wet Dream, and his work with Dave Harris for the album Identity in 1984.
some souls may die and be no longer among us ... but their spirit and their true souls linger on ... they are not dead really ... their memories and works of artistry are immortal ...
Bon album ! C’est le plus discret du groupe, et ses sons de claviers uniques ,qui a avalé des couleuvres , et qui est partis le premier ! Troublant le destin!😢
All i have to say is... PaintBox, Rick...Paintbox. And all the other bits and pieces of lead vocals, like in Time, burning bridges etc. Not to mention the sweet background vocals all around. And the keyboards is mainly what made the Floyd sound, a celestial, space, unique and multidimensional and multicolour in a great extent, without undermining the others members unique and immensely valuable contributions.
Agree about his voice, he was too hard on himself. As far as his being ESSENTIAL to the PF sound, that is the same for all the fellows although I think Waters the least since his vocals are marginal & bass tracks not very impressive. Wright will be missed, a really sad loss.
Yes, they were friends during the making of division bell (1994) and she was clinically depressed. He fell for her and a year later they got married and had a kid (1995). Broken china releases in 1996.
I'm glad he's proud of it. I didn't enjoy it, though. Violator came out in 1990. This Broken China album, 1996. The music was I guess, too slow, forgettable, gloomy, and long. The songs sounds of it's time, which is very 90's, also which was most likely because of the samples used. Point that I'm trying to make is that enjoy the silence still sounds so good now, but the songs from broken china sound dated. And honestly, I just want to say cause most of broken china is instrumental, but I've heard older instrumental tracks from the 80's that sound way better. From what he's talking about, on how they made it about depression and getting out of it, is a unique take on making an entire album about. He must have known ahead of time that it wouldn't sell. Sad because he was with EMI, and with this complete failure, I presume (I'm just making a guess cause I didn't like it) they dropped him from the label.
Richard says he wasn’t confident in his voice but he had a freaking beautiful voice I loved Richards voice and he never had to hide his Englishness

I’d love to get this album, can’t find it. 😢
In my humble opinion, no Rick Wright equals no Pink Floyd. He’s integral to the whole ouvre ✌🏻
WTF!? Richard your voice is amazing. It blends so well with David's. When I hear you sing, I instantly relax. RIP.
I always liked his voice. Was always my favourite Floyd voice, even next to Syd.
I hope he now knows how much we loved him.

Richard Wright was the George Harrison of Pink Floyd and therefore my favourite.
same

Kenneth Donnelly very much agree that Ricks playing was essence of Pink Floyd. Nicks drumming was also. Both unhurried and regal Englishmen.

A true artist in whole sense of this word... awesome!

*R.I.P. Rick Wright, the soul of Pink Floyd, my favorite member of the band. We miss you, great musician.*

Rick, you have a great voice. And I like this album. Thank you for leaving us songs we can cherish for a long time.
Fantastic album. A clear indication of how important he was for the over all sound of the classic Floyd albums. Highly recommend this one.
This is great, getting perspective from Rick and Storm! May these two brilliant people both rest in peace.

cute profile photo! XD
Humble, incredible musician. Should be accredited for The Pink Sound Sound.
I bought the CD when it came out. I loved it.
Always been a big floyd fan but I search out their interviews for relaxation purposes. Think they call it AMSR on UA-cam. All four are so relaxing.
This is one of my favourite albums. Also sound wise and Sinead on vocals on a couple of songs is really great.
The bass is the best on this album, played by Pino Palladino.

Superbe album d'un de mes musiciens préférés. Un homme simple et inspiré.
Love Rick, Love Storm... ^^ cheers!
Excelente entrevista, es uno de mis discos que más amo...
Never knew about this album. Sounds great. Have to get it.
Why I find this work so late? No more possibility to say "Thank you"
The "quiet one" also was the most hedonistic one. Bless you Rick
Rick Wright was the best singer in Floyd.
an amazing album. ❤️

Really great album it really is !
I'll have to give that a listen to. Back story of the album is very interesting.
Broken China is a wonderful album.
Just bought this album on Discogs! You can't stream it anywhere online
great album
I LOVE MY ANGEL IN HAVEN
bruh, are you an impersonator?
Eddie Van Halen and Rick Wright are jamming on keyboards together now
GREAT
❤
Geniale!!!!!
Take a good quality multivitamin, Omega 3 oil and 5HTP and that should make it a bit more bearable. Works for me.Enjoy the Floyd!
I replaced my SSRI with 5HTP. Good stuff.
That vest is FRESH

Surely its due a box set rerelease
A bit like Hendrix in that respect. Their respective voices were ideal for their music.
So is China broken? Or is the interview broken? Or did he just produce a movie called 'Broken China'? Or a book? Maybe a ballet performance?
Richard shouldve sang some songs on the wall .
wasn't that friend his then wife? i rlly miss rick wright rip
Yes, I wondered why he said that. It was his 3rd wife.
