I am so sorry for your lost. I take care of my mom niw she has late stage Alzheimer's and i am exhausted. I know i will feel lost when she's gone. My entire life revolves around her and her illness. This disease is the most heart breaking thing that anyone can ever imagine. I hope you find peace and i can do the same when my time comes

Donna my moms dementia started at 52 . She’s alive but a shell of herself. I was the primary caregiver now she lives in a wonderful facility. You never stop grieving with this disease. I’m sorry for your loss and the cruel hand life dealt you.

My coworker's husband has early onset Alzheimer's. He used to work with us too. It's devastatingly sad to hear her tell us how he's doing, which is mostly declining. I hope some day they come up with a cure. It's just so sad and seems so unfair. 😢

Notice how careful she is not to shame him. "that's your youngest son!" and then she lets it go. She isn't questioning him, or demanding that he tell her his kids' names. Well done!

It's now called Young Onset. Also important to know that Dementia is not as a result of aging. It's a disease/illness like cancer. People in their 20's and younger have been afflicted.

Cut sugar out of your diet, completely! No alcohol, no cigarettes, no processed food.

Sharing what is going on can assist family and friends support you and the person with Alzheimer's disease. There is no one correct technique to inform others about Alzheimer's disease. When the time comes, be truthful with family, friends, and others. Use this as an opportunity to educate them about Alzheimer's disease. We did this since my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and we allowed him to live at silvergaterr.
