I actually really like the feature where u can set track default region types by track when you create a region with the pen tool. its in the track inspector. There is so much bang for its buck in logic for new producers now its unbelievable.
Yeah, we seen the other competitios flushing out awesome updates lately too. But I really enjoyed this one! Logic Pro is totally the top daw when it comes to value for money! 🌱🥁👌😄
Its the region type which will be created by default for that track when you add new regions on the track. If the default is set to ”pattern” thats the region that will be created. Tracks can have different ”defaults” in 10.8. Makes sense?
Excellent, thanks Mattias. I've been using logic for years, but while I've been using the mastering assistant, I hadn't tried Alchemy sampling. Just getting to grips with that. The mastering assistant really saves a lot of messing around with EQ and dynamic levels, and allows for really useful comparisons in dynamics and stereo spread etc., really good stuff.
Thanks, yeah Logic got a great lift with this addition. From my tests the Mastering Assistant has been working out just fine. And you can always dial back the Eq to taste if its too much.
Thank you Matthias for this excellent presentation of the new features.🤘🏻 I'm not an Ozone user, so this is a real tool that will give me greater peace of mind when it comes to finalizing my tracks, without having to spend any money on a plug-in and "waste time". I'd rather create than mix, let alone master, so it's all good, everything's condensed and I tested it tonight, and it works really well. For the Slip and Rotate tools they were already available but they were a bit hidden (in the Edit -> Move -> Rotate Left/Right tab) but it's true they're more accessible.
Hi Jo, yeah the Mastering Assistant is gonna be super useful as well as these other new tools. I wish the Zen Tour could record in 32bit, because it does not have a soft clipper like the Apollo Twin X has. ;/ So I'm always careful of the volumes I record at. Yeah it's awesome to have the SLip/Rotate tools available straight from the toolbox for quick access. Experimental midi editing indeed. ;) Did you try the updated pitch correction plugin (autotune)? The Neural Pitch Detection is a great addition there too!
Sorry but i am so helpless. My Logic Pro midi playback goes out of tune after few bars plays since about a week. I've checked it and i have realised a week ago it automatically upgraded. I can not figure it out. It is impossible to work on it this way. Is there anybody have this problem ? I can not find any solution. If anybody asks; i work with excatly same system since a year. Nothing changed. I have this problem since a week.
midi playback goes out of tune!? Wow that doesn't sound fun. Did you try creating a brand new project. Recording a few notes and playing back...Still going out of tune? Making sure your audio device settings are ok? What audio interface do you use?
@@MattiasHolmgren thank you. Yeah i’ve tried them all. It happens in all projects sometimes but it does not. I’ve tried the change audio settings and everthing can be describe as first ideas. My audio interface is Evo 4 by Audient. It is the same audio interface by years. Same computer and same everything since about 15 months. It is really impossible to work in this way🤦🏼♂️

This makes me want to upgrade. I've been running Logic 10.5.1 since I bought my iMac in 2020. running Catalina OS.....My main worry is past songs not working properly or other 3rd party plugins not working if I update. What Are the requirements to upgrade?
Probably some baked in tech requirement from a newer OSX. Seems like they’ve merged the code because Logic iPad and Logic Mac now has the same feature sets. Sample Alchemy and Beat Breaker were already available on Logic iPad since launch.🚀
Make sense Mattias. But honestly, I'm not upgrading to a MacOs V1.1 system which is potentially inestable and consumes more cpu resources. Furthermore, it has compatibility problems with other DAWS, plug-ins, drivers... Anyway, thanks for showing the new features, they are great!
Great tools! It’s just too bad apple is way behind modern innovations. They are supposed to be a cutting edge tech company. Now they are merely emulating others who are far beyond them. For a software that used to cost a thousand dollars, they have become a disappointment!

I read 13.5 somewhere but I’m already on Sonoma 14.0. Gonna explore more to see if I bump into any bugs while working up a song arrangement

I’m running latest Sonoma. And it works great so far. Verify 3rd party plugins you use are ok with the new OS version. 👌
