    For the beginners to clear up any confusion , If you feed all that slack back into the loop you're still going to have too much slack ( it's still the same amount of rope that left your right hand) what you did without mentioning is you made a smaller loop and put the extra slack in in your coils. Good practice tip form Tyler Magnus: when you pull your slack your rope should be tight, if it's not either back up a little or shorten up your loop and put the extra slack in your coils.

    @drustew Ive been roping for a few years now mostly in parking lots. Being in the army it's hard to find a horse or arena, but your videos have helped improve my roping significantly. I really appreciate it. Keep them coming!

    I have roped with a Spyder a couple times. It is a fast rope with good ballence, but because of the lack of crown (the peak and valleys between the strands) it seems to run on the saddle horn a little to much for my liking. If it swings well, you like the feel, and you can catch, use the rope that gives you the most confidence. I use and love the Shock N Awe, Nitro, C4. They are my top three picks.

    Waited 55 years to buy my first rope. Your step by step lessons are just the right thing. I've watched 5 lessons and I'm sure I'll watch them again. I'm still not sure what dally is. I hear the word, but not sure what it is. Could you please clarify? Thanks.

      Dally is when you catch the steer and wrap your rope around the saddle horn.

      It’s when you’ve got the rope on the calf and now you’ve turned and pulled the calf to set it for the heeler

    Really like your videos! already rope a little bit (still new though), but i love to see how i was taught and how you teach, and make kinda like a hybrid between the two or three. Id just like to thank you for the good videos, and would love if you could explain more for "in the saddle" roping, for i start that soon

    i really like these, but the thing about the loop i have been watchin tyler madnus and he says to stay off to the left so you don't move you and your horse over. it makes it more like roping on a horse but other than that i love it
    i sent the beginner videos to one of my friends

    hey i was wondering if you could make a video on dalling, i'm 15 and starting high school rodeo and i have a problem with dalling, i will sometimes catch and then i won't have enough slack to dally, so if you could make a video on the process that would be very benifitial to me thanks

    A dally is when you use your saddle horn with rubber on it and rap the rope around the saddle horn and that's a dally I know what it is cause I'm 10 years old and rope steers

    Drewcan you claify the release of the rope when you catch. It looks like you lead with the elbow and then have a release like a throwhing a base ball. I am having trouble understanding

    • @martincurtis2257
      @martincurtis2257 6 років тому

      Eric Fritze its like throwing a baseball. Keep your arm out to the right, not close in like a boxing punch. Just watch Drew, he's a professional. Slow mo helps.
