Half and half tutorial video by @stacyelstone
I can't believe you named so many of my favorites! Death in Paradise and Keeping Up Appearances are the best 👏🏾❣ I hope you ended up liking Magpie Murders, too. I enjoyed it immensely.
Love your work. And I am enchanted by the video of your farm. I'll be going to my sister's farm later this year and your place reminds me a lot of their's. All the flowers, the fruit/veg, the bees....beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Enjoy? I crave your channel. Adore the videos.. talk.. pictures… music…pace…Knitting! You are the kindest sweetest person. So I just bought last nite the Soho toppattern… I have the yarn en-route. Currently on my second half/ half wrap…. FYI, 54 stitches to go on first half, bam, onto second color. A marathon , but like a big book…. One page/stitch at a time. Please give more details on your Ranunculus as I have 2 done…. Ready to start 3 rd, yet I just started the Quill tee…. And want to get to armholes prior to cast/ on…. Love my self imposed “carrots”. Love love those chickens. Please more footage on those beautiful birds. Take care. !
So nice to catch up with you 😊 haha yes you're right I'm currently knitting on a half + Half and I have a few more planned. Loving your style of videos, they're so relaxing to watch ❤
I love your colors!!
Hello from Canada....my very Scottish husband and I have just discovered Monarch of the Glen recently and are really enjoying it 😀
I love all your projects Kaci and I also love that you knit all the things 🥰 variety is the spice of life I say. I had to have that Easy V pattern as soon as I saw it and I’ve been dreaming of colours ever since 😊
I love the easy V!! It’s a new classic!
We have Sonic in Oregon and yes they are delicious. A&W, Wendy's and dairy Queen are delicious also. I do miss Bob's burgers though we don't have those anymore. The stuff you knit is beautiful and you are kind about what you talked about.
Love this!
Another wonderful podcast x
Thank you 😘
Love your podcasts!!
Love your podcast and all your knits! Just wanted to mention that a lot of Canadian online shops carry Drops! It's very easy to find in Canada!
Kaci! Such a joy as always. The transition to your dream knitting gave me goosebumps 🤩 thanks for sharing snippets of your super inspiring life!
Thank you so much Bethany!!!
Love your colors oh my goodness
Love your string of turtles plant!
Thank you 😊
5 seconds in and you’re adorable!!! Looking forward to watching! ❤️
We have Sonic in Lancaster County, PA. Love their icy drinks.
I have and love the chiaogoo interchangeables and I have not had a problem with my yarn catching on the joins. I just make sure to use the tightening tools when I attach the tips. But I also love the feel of wooden needles in my hands. I have the Cocobolo interchangeable set from KnitPicks and I absolutely love them. Their cords aren’t as nice as chiaogoo BUT Lantern Moon has swivel cords that are like the chiaogoo cords - and Lantern Moon cords fit on Knitters Pride and KnitPicks needles. So now I have the best of both worlds - the feel of wood with a memory free swivel cord. Heavenly knitting.
That’s genius
I love your knitting content and your photography and music choices are spot on!
Thank you!!
Your name Youngfolks Knits is great! I laughed when I saw it. It was something that I’d have called a knitting channel when I was younger. I really like the things you’re knitting and the way you’ve filmed your video. Creative! Thank you for sharing.
I'll have to check out that mystery book. I'm glad to hear we like similar books and shows. 😘
I loooove the color of your inclination cowl! It’s such a change from the bright colors I’ve seen and it’s lovely
I love your podcasts. They’re fun, soothing, funny, informative, and inspiring! Thank you.
Thank you so much!!
Your podcast is a treasure. I’m so glad I stumbled upon it!
That means so much!! Thank you!
Another great podcast!
Thank you!!!!
Your husband made fun of you for knitting at the zoo…ihats a sign of a good Mama. Those needles are legitimate weapons 😂😂😂. I really appreciate you sharing all that you do. I just love your humor and candor. 💗💗💗
Happy knitting Kaci, love your podcast so much xxx
Thank you Sarah!
Yes-that Soho top is beautiful and fits you perfectly.
Thank you!!!
Loved every single second. Your Soho Top is simple and beautiful on you. Perfection.
Thank you 😘
I LOVE the color you’ve chosen for your Plumetis! Its so lovely. ❤️
Thank you Hannah!
Enjoy every minute of your podcasts : the music, the scenery, the colors, the yarn !!! Your creativity is AMAZING!! You give me so much inspiration!! I’m in Virginia and WHEW I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU too hot and humid right now. SO READY FOR FALL!!! Always look forward to time spent enjoying your videos while I knit. Until next time 🙋♀ stay cool!
Thank you so much!! And I have checked out of summer 🤣
You're always just so fun to catch up with! I love your Soho, it's beautiful, and I love all your little comments and cut aways, they're hilarious! I also really like seeing more of your life behind the scenes - thank you for letting us in!
Thank you so much for watching!!
Beautiful podcast, Kaci! I love how you show us so much of your process. Xoxo
Thank you Lisa! I love your half and half already.
Gosh the music is beautiful 🥲
Wonderful podcast as usual ☺️
Thank you!
Kaci! I just spent my entire Saturday with your podcast episodes on in the background, so much fun to feel like I was hanging out with you (and Becky!) while I was doing laundry, tidying up, and working on my drinks on the patio crop. It felt especially sweet for me since I'm a beekeeper/knitter from the south (but I'm in TX not AR). Your Soho top is GORGEOUS and convinced me to sign up for the email to be notified when it's released.
That color blue gray is so beautiful on you. Thank you for sharing all your gorgeous knits.
Thank you!!!
I own the DVDs of Monarch Of The Glen. Wonderful! I finished Death In Paradise and enjoyed that a lot. I saw a lot of it on our loal PBS channel. I really liked the 2nd detective - the silly one - because I watched the entire series of My Family (I own the DVDs of that too) and he played the older, not too bright, son. Oh my, I love that show! If you have one of the British subscription services you can also watch McCleod's Daughters. You will love it. Keeping up appearances is always a joy to me because my mom was Hyacinth. I am not, however, a Sheridan. LOL! Even my kids see my mom in Hyacinth. A show well loved by our entire family. Love your podcast and your projects.
Oh I’m definitely going to watch it! Thank you for the suggestion!
I live in Austin, Texas and I’m tired of the hot weather too. I’m trying to will fall to come sooner by knitting fall things :)
Your Soho is just gorgeous 😍
Thank you Nikki!!!
What a lovely podcast and what a feast for the eyes and for the soul! Great music, too! So glad I found you! ❤️🙏🏼❤️
Thank you!!
I have 3 sets of Chiaogoo interchangeables & the Lykke Driftwood interchangeables and love them both.
I absolutely LOVE your podcast. I started watching a few episode ago and have hone back to watch your previous ones. You are so calm to watch have great taste and I live your accent. I am from Scotland and I have to admit that I have not watched Monarch of The Glen, maybe I should give it a go. Your Soho top is very nice and I now want to make one. I may even use the same yarn as the drape looks great. I appreciate the time you take to podcast and look forward to your future episodes 😀
Thank you so much Hazel! I love watching anything filmed in Scotland it’s such a beautiful country!
Your podcast is just a delight to watch! Really beautiful Kaci!
There is nothing better than clean sheets right off the clothesline...
I love clean sheets off the line!
Love that Soho top and the shaping of it. I’ve been using my Knitter’s Pride Zing interchangeables forever and have never had a problem with yarn catching where they join. I love them. I also love BritComs, my favorite being Absolutely Fabulous, although there are so many more. You’re very pleasant to listen to and I learn a lot from you, so, keep up the great work.
I will have to watch absolutely fabulous!!!
I love my ChiaoGoo interchangeable set of needles. As long as I use a rubber band wrapped an the needle for grip and the T pin to tighten the cord, I have never had the join loosen until I want to change the needle. I use this set almost exclusively. Did have to add a US 1 needle as it is not included in the set and I have added a few extra cords.
Everyone seems to love them!
"the responsible thing to do" LOL :) Can't wait to see that Easy V!
This is my favorite set up for your background. I am a crazy plant person as well as yarn.
I love my plant babies 😆
I love Sonic! Your plants look amazing. Chiagoo needles are the best!
Yes! Sonic drinks are so good!! Thanks Roshelle 😘
Really great episode, the thought and care you put into it really shines through 💗. Love the Soho top and that blue goes so well with the trousers. The Vert and Rose wrap is looking amazing too, so fluffy but still delicate. I've recently invested in an interchangable Chiagoo set, after making do with Pony needles for way too long and I've never looked back 🤗
Thank you so much! So question. Do your chiaogoo interchangeable needles catch at the join? I’ve never used their interchangeables but I’m interested if all of them do that or just certain brands.
I love your podcast! Especially the added farm footage. I have chickens too and would love to have bees. I think I need to watch back episodes.
Chickens are just so hilarious and entertaining I love them!
I share the same love for british “telly” as well. I stumbled upon your podcast a few days ago (I love your podcast by the way) and have been catching up starting with the first episode, in one episode you asked for help in naming chicks and I immediately thought of Hyacinth, Daisy and Rose (I have a chicken named Daisy, but was vetoed on the other names). I often tell my husband to “Mind the pedestrian” or cyclist, car, etc. when he’s driving. 😆
Isn’t that show the best 🤣 I find it absolutely hilarious
Kaci, I absolutely love listening to you! You raise my spirits everytime. I am from Kansas and Oklahoma so Sonic was a thing (hid from a fierce hail storm under their awning once, sounded like I had my head in a bucket while it went on). I now live in Oregon and there are a few out here that I make it a point to stop in for my 'sweet tea' fix. There is nothing like Sonic ice and I'm now known as that crazy Kansas lady who buys bags of Sonic ice in the drive thru. Thanks for getting us by, Denise
Yes!!!! We buy their ice too! Haha
Great #21 episode. Wishing I had some of those garden tomatoes ❤️ . You’re finished sweater is gorgeous 💕
I’ll send some!
I cannot wait to see your plumetis!! And I love keeping up appearances, when I need a pick me up or something simple, I know I can get a good laugh with Mrs. Bucket! 🤣🤣🤣
B-U-C-K-E-T
@@YoungfolkKnits yeeees!!!!
I get my wool warehouse quicker than I do any order here in the states. Love it!! I love Ruth! She is such a sweet spirit. That Plumetis makes me vapor lock a little bit!!🤣🤣🤣
That is crazy! I’m definitely going to try wool warehouse out. And… vapor lock 🤣🤣🤣
Love love your finished sweater! Nope, my chiaogoo interchangeable needles don’t snag ever and I just love them for everything. Really enjoyed your podcast thank you.
That is great info! Thank you!!
I love watching your podcast! They are so soothing with the musical interludes and snips of your process, but also hilarious with your outtakes. But I really came to comment that Sonic is a thing for real here in the South at least. My sister stops there EVERY DAY for a sweet tea before she goes to her school to teach for the day.
Sonic drinks!!!! 🥤
I just purchased the yarn for a half and half too! I chose the denim and lavender opal colors. Can’t decide if that my final choice or not. I really like your bright colors.
Hello from Mounds Illinois. I love your voice, your top is beautiful and fits perfectly.
Hello!
I absolutely love you Soho Top. I normally am not a fan of garments in garter stitch but the fit of that top is stunning!
The colors of you half + half wrap are like my dream colors. Orange is my favorite color and seeing that neon orange actually makes me want to cast one on!
And you're knitting the Easy V?! Ah! That's on my 2023 knitting list 😂 and I love that you chose the original colors!
So excited for all your future WIPs! Now I want to snag that Pom Pom issue, I've been obsessed with all those dreamy patterns. 😍
As for Southern living, I don't remember Sonic being a big thing where I was but I always stood out like a sore thumb with my unsweet tea order. You can take the girl out of the north but can't take the north out of the girl. 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you! And unsweet tea is so much healthier! Haha I try to drink that but sweet tea is always calling my name 🤣
Love your podcast. I just found you. First video I saw was the recent summer tops. I said in comments “thanks for talking about the yarns you use.” Very Helpful.
I do think Sonic is a southern thing. I don’t recall them in North east or CA. I’ll ask my husband. Sonic rock’s. I now live in TX. We’ve moved around a lot. Some places we’ve lived are CA, AL, OK, CT, PA- born in Pittsburgh, moved to LA with parents when I was 12. Grew up in CA. I don’t know any knitter’s except for online. At least its time consuming and enjoyable alone. I do embroidery needle pint etc too. I do have a baby parrot 🦜 and gardening 🧑🌾 that keeps me busy, too.
Do you have “Raising Cane’s - chicken?” Its to die for. I have not seen it in any of the states Ive lived in before didn’t have that anywhere Ive lived before. Its so fresh their sauce is amazing. Their three piece chicken strip dinner is very filling and its so good. Ask for your fries fresh, they are happy to abridge. It’s a tad higher priced, but, omg it’s so worth it.
ChaiGoo interchangeable are wonderful have both 5 inch and 4 inch size. Also the 9” circular sets red and blue also are awesome. They have 2 needle tip sizes in the sets 3” and 2” needles those cords are both wonderful too. I am trying out the silver cords that rotate the 2” lengths to make Flexible double point needles. Those I just ordered. Ill let you know if I like as much as Flexi flip fixed needles. I could not use double point needles before Flexi Flips. Game changers, for sure.
Sorry I edited and said so much but I very much enjoyed your podcast and wanted to be of help back to you. Apologies! Thanks 🙏 again.
That’s very helpful about the needles! And I haven’t heard of raising cane’s before! I’ll have to keep an eye out. Thank you for watching!
The "What???" after your read the description for the SBKPP was me when I first read that stitch too 😂 Andrea Mowry has a good video that explains it super clearly but my mind was whirling with that description. Also your finished Soho Top is absolutely stunning!
Oh that’s good to know! I’ll be watching that video 🤣
Love your podcast you cheer my day xx Magpie Murders is actually a series on Britbox xx
I saw it was released in the uk but not in the us yet 😭 that I can find anyway?
Yo! I’m a ciao goo fan, too. 🎉
Oh my goodness! Sonic Cherry Limeade is my jam! (I live in Indiana, but there are only 2 in our state. I just happened to live near one of those 2. :) )
Ohhh yes! Those limeades!
I love BBC comedies: Keeping up Appearances for sure, A Fine Romance, Absolutely Fabulous and Out Numbered to name a few. We had a couple of Sonics in Oregon and now that I’m in Arkansas they are EVERYWHERE!!! My new fave is the Cherry ice cream Slush! OMG!!! I would LOVE to make a half and half triangles wrap but not sure if I’d be over my head. I’m only slightly adventurous with knitting. 😳
Oh it is such a simple and calming
And meditative knit! And there are tutorial videos on how to make it. Stressknits just released one. I will link it in the description
Oh my god I have that same sore from my chiaogoos because they’re a little sharp & I push my needle with my pointer finger all the time 😂 also I highly recommend the chiaogoo set, there’s absolutely 0 join issues, they’re just as amazing as the fixed needles I see no difference at all!
That’s good to know! Maybe someday I’ll get a set!
I have literally just bought yarn this morning for the plumetis 😂
Yes!!!!!! 👯♀️
As a uk viewer I definitely recommend wool warehouse. Their sales are great and they stock a great range of price points and fibers.
I am looking forward to trying them!
I have been watching BritBox nonstop! I’ve decided to watch allll the Miss Marple’s, and I noticed out of all the renditions, Joan Hickson is the only one that I think could really knit! Sonic is definitely a southern thing… we live in SE TN and went to Maine to visit my husbands family about a month ago, and there was no Sonic, no sweet tea, and no biscuits!! If you went out for breakfast you had to get a bagel! No offense, bagels are fine, but when you want a biscuit, a bagel just seems like a let down 😅 And if you ordered sweet tea out of habit, they’ll bring you unsweet and tell you that there is sugar in the table 🤣 There’s no place like home, I’ll say that 🙌
Girl! I love your podcast!! Starting out with how great Sonic ice is you are so good!! 😋 lol
About the needles, I know just what you mean about the joins on the Addis although I love them for being so smooth and not sharpy like my hiyas! I have that same little owie on my finger. Chiaogoo interchangeable joins are good but they seem come loose on me. I love a fixed esp for magic loop.
If you feel like it would you add in an indoor plant segment sometime?
Take care!!
Those are some great tips on the needles! Thank you. And yes I’d love to talk about my plants sometime haha!
Mrs Bucket is the best for sure! but if you love mysteries have you watched Vera? - also PBS (or Acorn) she a Detective Inspector in UK (england i think) and she's amazing. love your podcasts
These watermelon are gorgeous!!! I tried growing them and it just did not work - they were the size of grapefruit! Hahaha! Love your podcast, thank you so much for sharing!
This year the watermelon turned out really well!!
I have not seen Monarch of the Glen in years. Kilwillie aka Julian F wrote Downtown Abbey and many others
Cotton yarn hurts my hands too. I didn’t make the connection until you said that. But I can knit all day. But if I use cotton I hurt after maybe 30 minutes.
Yes!! It’s so hard on the hands 😭
Beautiful finished object! That's a beautiful color on you and the fit is lovely.
The music in your videos is so good! Is it your husband's music?
Lovely to see you Am in Edinburgh and I have a neighbour I ve nicknamed hyacinth cos she s so la de da and acts all posh but isn’t yip it’s hilarious
🤣 we have a few hyacinths here as well
@@YoungfolkKnits 😂
Lol, sometimes I throw a little piece of leukotape on my finger to protect it from needle callous. It has the best glue
That’s a good idea!
You’re so cute! I love your podcast 💕
Thank you! I LOVE yours!
I really want to make the soho top but being a newbie I'm probably getting too far ahead of my abilities just yet. It's super cute!
I can knit with you sometime and we can figure out any difficult parts if you decide to knit it!
lol, lol. Get some silicone finger tip covers. Maybe they are crafting thimbles? I find them excellent for when using hiya hiya sharps. I love the sharp, but I'm a pusher and pushing that tip gets painful.
It is painful!
Girl I just love you! Sometimes your jaws engage before your mind. I just love you. I'm wanting you to teach me how to knit that pretty tank you was holding up in intro. Which I love your intro the rain in the windows and the floating teabag. I'm gonna learn something from you before I die, got it? I have crocheted 47 yrs and honest to my God I started knitting Mothers Day Sunday. Does that top come in a 3xl? That top is so cute.
🤣🤣🤣
I read Magpie Murders...so good. An I too have perm hole in my thumb from Hiya hiya's. Many a swear word has flown out of my mouth with those suckers.....ouch!!!
🤣🤣🤣
Same indentation on my finger.
😭😭😭
“Will I ever finish it?” That’s how I feel with my pressed flowers shawl right now I’m a little over halfway so those rows are so long 😪😂
Oh girl yes! My pressed flowers is one of my 50,000 wips I can’t show because I’ve made zero progress on 🤣
@@YoungfolkKnits I think I have 9-10 flowers on it now & I want to get to 15-18 & I just have no ambition to get there but it’s so beautiful 😅😂
You are such a hoot! You crack me up! I’m knitting a hat with Hiya Hiya Sharps, so I know your pain. I love Monarch of the Glen. Where are watching it? It’s been years since I’ve seen it. My husband found a Midsomer Murders channel on Roku, I think. We’ve been binge watching. Thank you for another great podcast. Your clothesline shot reminded me that I had clothes in washer that I forgot to hang out. 🤦♀️
We have a subscription for britbox and acorntv on Amazon prime and I watch all the British telly on there :)
@@YoungfolkKnits I just cancelled Acorn and signed up for Britbox. Wanted to try both out, but I can’t pick a favorite. They both have good shows. My favorites are Doc Martin, Vera, and Shetland. Shetland is a little dark, but I love it because it’s filmed on Shetland.
@@marthamason3922 those are some of my favorites too! Also midsommer murders!
@@YoungfolkKnits definitely Midsomer! I’m watching first episode of Keeping Up Appearances. 🤣What was the name of the book series you said you were listening to?
@@marthamason3922 magpie murders
I just stumbled upon your channel and was surprised to hear you say you’re in Arkansas! I’m a central Arkansas native and am curious to know whether there are any local yarn stores in the state that you particularly enjoy? I’ve only been to a couple in my area and would love to check out more if you have any favorites! Thanks!
I’ve only been to one - yarn Kandy in Little Rock. Which I do enjoy but rarely get to visit since it’s quite a drive for me. I haven’t been to any others although I was recently told by a friend that one has opened in Paragould which is also far away but I’m hoping to visit it soon
In the wrap test knit you’re doing are you knitting the brushed alpaca silk single, or double?
It’s held single! It’s listed under worsted or Aran I think so other testers using lace weight mohair are holding that double.
What kind of type writer is it you use in your intro?
do you think the Soho top could be knit completely flat then stitched up at the sides, so I don't have to purl?
Definitely! You would just then need to pick up stitches all the way around for the I cord bind off
I’m a beginner knitter. I’ve made hats and a Sophie scarf. I bought the Soho Top pattern, but then it seemed intimidating and I’m afraid to start. What level would you say this is?
Could you please tell me the name of the song you have for the “future project” pre-video?
It’s called losing track of time - Gabriel Kelley
Hi, I keep meaning to ask you, do you do BVT? Bee Venom Therapy? I did and successfully reduced inflammation and pain in my hands. Sometimes painful but so helpful. Thanks for your channel.
I have never tried it! That’s very good to know tho!
@@YoungfolkKnits A good book to read on the subject is: Health and the Honey Bee by Charles Mraz.
How are you watching old British tv shows? They sound like something I would like!
I have a britbox and acorn tv subscription thru Amazon prime :)
