Even with spicy comments and unpopular opinions your commentary was so kind! I’m with you on the knitted bras. Even to lounge around in I don’t see how even my smaller chest will be contained or if they are that the fabric won’t stretch or become distorted. But I can see it as a layering piece. When I lived in Boston and temps would get -10 and below or there were strong winds or wind tunnels in the city even with 3 layers and a coat my nips could cut glass. I would’ve def appreciated something soft and warm to go over my bra. And possibly reduce all my layers that were making me look super bulky. Also agree about the mystery yarn. But I did sign up for a monthly subscription where you can’t choose the yarn. But it’s a sock club. So even if i receive a colorway that I wouldn’t choose or like that’s totally fine since it’s going into socks anyway. And i could always use it for heels and toes if I really hate it. I’ve also joined an organization thats looking to distribute hand knits to people living with long term illness. That way I can enjoy trying out a pattern or yarn I wasn’t sure of to see if it’s something I’d like to knit for myself in the future or use up yarn where I hated the color or the hand feel. That way I don’t feel guilty about money spent and keep it in my house taking up space. Or worse throwing it away.
I have a medical condition where I break my bones often. The most common are my ribs. I have made bras so I have the coverage but I don't worry about the support. I can't have anything tight on my rib cage and this really helps with modesty and it's just really pretty. I have had four kids and I'm 43 but actual supportive bras are not an option for me anymore. They never really were. I love making them and I love the effect.
As someone with bigger "ladies" but have also made knitted bralettes, I'll chime in - I definitely don't expect support from them, and they are luxurious to lounge in. They are my after-work-bra-is-off-sweats-are-on top, especially in summer. If I wear them during the day, it's with a bralette or a strappy lacy bra underneath and a flannel button down on top, and it's for a day I do not plan on leaving the house. Also, spicy opinion to counter a spicy opinion - I bet the person who said knitting DK/worsted weight sweaters is "weak" is a person with a 36" or under bust and only needs two skeins of fingering weight for a sweater. There, I said it. Some of us just don't have endless hours to knit our busty-ass selves a fingering weight sweater!! (That said, yeah fine I've done a fingering weight sweater.)
Totally get it, I am relatively small, and even I knit SO long on a fingering weight sweater! Would not want to make one that is larger in size. Also, maybe people just like how warm and cuddly DK weight sweaters are 🤷🏼♀️
I'm literally knitting a bra as I watch this! Because I just moved from a no winter to a cold winter place and do NOT wish to freeze my nipples off. I just imagine it as an extra layer of cozy for the really cold days.
“I don’t want to trip and fall on my death sticks” 😂😂😂 This is the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while Kaci!!! Thank you so much for making me laugh out loud and almost spit out my soup 🤣 I also totally don’t get the knitted bra/bralette trend. They just don’t work for women with big boobs at all 🍈🍈
As someone having smaller than size A cup, knitted bras are very ok. 👌😄 Using cashmere or some other luxurious yarn makes me (and my minus A size breasts) feel special. 🥰
"Somebody said you can't knit and walk at the same time, and the knitter said 'challenge accepted."" I rewound that too many times! 🤣So glad to find another knitter who shares my opinion about mohair! I cannot afford it and sometimes feel like I'm not a "real" knitter for not using it, but to know a professional knitter like yourself only uses it a little bit makes me feel so happy. 😊Thank you, Kaci, for brightening this day for all of us!
I have no idea why youtube decided to show this to me so long after you recorded it, but this is the most hilarious sound editing I've ever seen on one of these style of opinion videos. I love your sense of humor!
I’m with you on the swatching!!!!!!!!! I use my first section as my swatch too. B/c a small little tiny square just doesn’t have the same properties as a big garment and I’m firmly in camp “I just can’t be bothered” The only exception is colorwork color decisions - I will do some examples of the different colors to see what I like better. Wonderful vid!!! One of your best yet. And when you said the color of your yarn I thought you said “panty pink “ 😂😂😂😂😂
Hey, I used to knit socks while taking the DC Metro to work and go home. One week riding the subway was one pair of socks. I worked on metal DPNs, put the ball of yarn in my backpack and walked, rode escalators, stood on the train, and never had folks crowd me. My personal bubble didn’t get messed with.
I’ve been watching many different podcasts for many years and I have to say, you are my all time favorite! I just love everything about you and your podcast. I think this is a very POPULAR opinion. 🤗🧶🤗
Hi! I saw this video, very catchy title! Loved the video and happened to be knitting on my westknits mkal! I am excited to see your clue 1 and the colors you chose. I'm going to watch another video. Hope you have a great day!
Thanks Cindy, this was fun. It's cold here in Canada for that chunky yarn for at least 4 months of the year so I have a few thick sweaters of Icelandic and 6 ply roofing but I dress in layers most of the time...sun in, sun out temps most days...like Colorado really but they have dryer air so feels warmer. Thanks for the chuckles.🥰🇨🇦🤣,Sharon.
I so agree about mystery yarn! I've only purchased one advent calendar and it was from a dyer that I love! I've loved every colorway she's ever produced so it wasn't really a risk.
As for the knitted bras: I recently completed the nurture bralette, and the range of cup sizes/shapes it accommodates is insane. It is a modular pattern, and customizable in every aspect. Probably the best money well spent on a pattern for me lol. In regards to function, for some people their measurements are not easy to find in stores, and store bought bralettes are not reliably comfortable. Many knit bra patterns are also not designed to be TRULY wearable, and focus more on appearance than sizing.
Just found you - Amy Palka put your podcast out there. I’m a beekeeper too! Nice to meet you! I’ve been beekeeping since 2008. I play piano too- so excited to find you.
Loved this! So funny. Re shawls…I agree. I like a triangle shawl wrapped over one shoulder and tied under the other arm though. I’m all over that and wear one all winter.
"Death sticks" I am cracking up!! 🤣 also, I'm right there with you on the Half and Half...I said I wasn't going to make one and here I am about as far into it as you, and I'm moving back to AR next week 🤣🤣🤣
I LOVED this episode! I can’t really buy yarn right now but I so badly want to knit the Half and Half Triangles wrap!!!!!! Do you think just plain baby alpaca would work for it, Kaci? I loved the “not everyone is knit worthy” statement. One of my radiation therapists was saying last week that he still has a hat and scarf set his grandma made for him when he was a kid and still has a blanket that his mom made for him many years ago. I said “that makes you a knit worthy person”. It was so neat to hear that he loved those items so much that he kept them. I really want to knit or crochet something for each person that was involved in my cancer journey. Maybe a small angel or something.
Guuuurrrrllll! You had me cracking up. Totally with you about walking snd knitting. I've been thinking about a half and half but it will be after 3 more Christmas gifts. Agree with knit worthy folks. You pour your heart and soul into something and not to mention all the time for your gift yo be shoved into a closet list forever. Love the video. We are camping at Lake Catherine state park right now. Sooooo dry. Pray for rain yall. Heading back to Texas today.
I agree that knitted bras are not for everyone. Personally I see no point in knitting myself a wool bra. I live in a warmer climate and knitting a cami or a bra in something with wool would just be silly BUT I made myself a summer bra this year in linen and viscose blend and I LOVE it with all my heart. I have worn it literary everyday this summer. The most important reason I knit this bra (I designed it myself) was to wear it during hot summer days when we have up to 40 degrees and its humid and all I can wear is very light, sometimes sheer fabrics and it is not always an option to be braless... and if I am outside, I just do not want to wear something that has metal cables to hold up the cups. They are so uncomfortable and I sweat more if I wear them. The bra I made has an elastic band in the hem around under bust and it has been the most comfortable knit but I agree, I am about 92cm around bust and I guess knitted bras are more for bust circumferences on the smaller side. Would love to hear other opinions too :)
That sounds like a lovely bra!!! I wish I could wear one! I am a US G cup and I just need a bit of support but I wish I could do a linen bra! Honestly sounds heavenly
I do like knitted bras. I have a smaller size so I can see why it does work for me and not for everyone. Sometimes I wear them as crop top over yoga bra, but usually I wear them under my t-shirt during sweater weather as a bra. It add some heat and I like how they feel, like they hug my chest. And I put layers on so I don't mind the lack of padding. But I don't wear them as a bra during the summer or when I need more support.
I knit while standing/walking because I have back issues and can’t sit and knit. I don’t walk outside because of uneven surfaces, but am happily wearing a path around my house. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
I also said I wouldn’t knit a Half & Half wrap. Way too hot for it here in Arkansas. But… I got caught up in all the hype. So I knitted a half of a Half & Half wrap. That was perfect for me. It’s just the right weight and I love the color and feel of it. Plus I enjoyed the therapeutic knit. I might even make another half! If I ever finish what’s in my que! I’m enjoying your podcast. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for this fun episode … and for taking down some sacred cows! Yeah…what’s with all this holding of multiple yarns together…all these trends we just fall into because everyone seems to be doing it. One comment or two to add to unpopular opinions: why is it that people are so eager to test knit? I was shocked when I found out test knitters don’t get any compensation (except the pattern for free). I assumed test knitters at least get the yarn for the project or monetary compensation for their work. But no. And another thing I don’t get: dead simple patterns for sale. The Sophie scarf comes immediately to mind. Too many for-pay patterns out there that most knitters could figure out on their own. Thoughts? Love your podcasts.
So many good takes here! 😄 My opinion on walking and knitting: Walking for me is pretty much a "dead time" like a commute by bus or train or something. You don't usually have to use your hands while walking, so why not just make it more productive? I usually carry around a small and easy stockinette project everywhere I go so I just grab it whenever I get the opportunity. I also sometimes read while walking and never lose my attention to the walking and traffic around me, so no worries. This is strictly limited to the summer months because my hands get really cold too fast 😔 About those shawls: I love shawls, or shlankets, but you know what I don't understand? COWLS! Maybe I'm just overly sensitive to cold air on my neck but wearing something that's supposed to be around your neck but barely touches you skin doesn't make any sense to me 😆 There are certain cowl patterns that I like and would love to knit but I already know that I couldn't use the piece eventually.
I don’t understand cowls that hang like a necklace. I want it to hug my neck and keep it warm if im going to wear one. I’ve only made one so far, which was the shift by Andrea mowry and that’s mostly because it looked more like a shawl I didn’t have to fuss with or style but its generous enough to keep my shoulders warm.
@@Plantsandmusicandyarn But would you consider it neck-warming enough? I love the Shift and also the Inclinations cowl but I'm afraid I'll never wear it.
@@theyarningvoid it feels pretty similar to wearing a shawl. I did make mine out of DK yarns vs sport so it turned out bigger than it was supposed to. And I’m pretty petite.. so it doesn’t sit super close to my neck but definitely keeps my shoulders warm!
I have been shaking my head up and down to you with at least 90% of what you agree with. My bust is zip…. 60+… 3 kids later and I work out 6 days a week…. I would not ( only me here), make a bra. Barely wear one now. I dislike any kind of large big needle knitting…..not my jam. I do make my husband hats … hats … and more hats. ( we live up North). As well usually every other year a pair of gloves, he loves ‘em. Used to make the grandkids hats but never never see them wearing. I made a cardigan for the 2 nd grader first communion…..white adorable Petite Knits pattern, box ripped open --set aside. Never heard about it once since. Shawls I love. I love them for church year round as it is always too cold. I am still on clue #1 on Monday… yikes. So I probably will skip your videos in October as I just 😂cannot keep up. Love your videos. Love your honesty. Take care.
So enjoyable! You are going to love wrapping yourself up in your Half and Half Triangles Wrap on those chilly days. Also, I tend to think of knitted "bras" more like the "corset covers" of the late 19th century, a decorative layer...unless you are someone who really doesn't need a bra in the first place.
You are my knitting twin! I 100% agree with all your scandalous knitting opinions. You're so much fun to listen to and your "death sticks" comment had me LOLing. 😂 Thanks for an awesome podcast!😍
I do knit and walk but mostly because I knit in the bus and the subway and I need to walk between them. And if I'm in the middle of a row I might also knit all the way to my desk. I was used to walk and read, knitting is a lot easier.
I’m late to the party but my #1 scandalous knitting thought is: don’t accumulate a stash! I’ve been knitting for 20 years and have stash beyond life expectancy. I’m only knitting from stash this year and frankly should continue for several more years. I wish I only had one sweater quantity (instead of 10) and sock yarn. Ps I’ve knit at least 5 sweaters from stash this year already. Your taste in yarn will change - don’t do it! The brainwashing effect of the half and half is real! I don’t knit shawls and have never knit a blanket and I almost broke the rules and bought yarn just for the half and half - what?! Instead of a tubular cast off I use the Hiya Hiya stretchy bind off. It’s easy, fast, stretchy and gives the same effect and I never hear anyone else using it. Those are my opinions. I truly enjoy your podcast, you are adorable, I love your aesthetic and creativity. Take care. Bridget
Girl! You have no idea how much I needed this. Sometimes the world gets so focused on not sharing opinions. We all have opinions and it’s totally cool to share them. Of course, don’t be mean. Which you totally did a great job of sharing opinions in a fun way. Breathe world, don’t be so serious!
I’m watching your podcast wrapped up in my HalfnHalf Triangle wrap! I could use a dozen of these! Mine is made of Rowan Felted tweed and I LOVE it! Ann 🧶
Hahaha loved this! Ok I make and wear knitted bras because I have been have some issues with the ladies and a store bought bra is so painful! And I am not little on top I don’t find I get lift from them but it keep things from poking out and holds the still enough so I don’t get weird look in public. And I did the same with socks that you did with the half and half lol and now I am obsessed with making socks it’s all my husband and I want to wear lol
At 67 I have no need of a knitted bra of any kind. lol I also have no want of a half and half shawl and I have a lot of shawls, but I live about 100 miles from Mexico and it is usually way too hot for any shawl except in winter. I have acclimated and I do wear sweaters a lot. I even have a super bulky cardi that I can wrap up in and read or knit when it's cold. I can't take the cold anymore. I get enough stares and comments about sitting and knitting when I'm out and about, I'm sure not going to walk and knit. You'd think I was a penquin at the beach here. (not many knitters, no lys, no knitting friends, knitters wasteland). I had a friend give me a pattern and tell me she wanted one but hadn't gotten the yarn yet... I do knit for others but only for those knitworthy and usually on my terms. Yarn stash - we won't talk about that. Yes, I have yarn that is old enough for junior high. Mystery yarn I have and have loved all of the colorways I've gotten. It's the only club I'm in and I get enough to make a top out of usually. In fingering cause New Mexico is way too hot for much else 9 months out of the year. Love your podcast, btw. I thought I'd probably not be able to relate to someone so much younger but you are delightfully funny and fun to watch.
Love this episode to funny Frank and true! I love my half & half, I use it as a blanket or wrap around my shoulders on the couch watching a movie, I do not wear it out and about.
What a fun 🤩 wonderful episode! I hope you do this again! I felt myself knitting a little faster today as you shared those fun unpopular opinions. 😂 😂😂
Actually, I live in Florida, and am knitting a Half & Half Triangles Wrap! I’m heading to the North Carolina mountains in a couple weeks, so I’m looking forward to finishing it. And I totally agree with you, that it’s such a meditative knit, I can knit on it at night, after all day of knitting mind boggling patterns! Just my thoughts! Love your podcasts! ❤️
I'm so glad to hear that not everyone enjoys mohair! I only started knitting less that a year ago and in the beginning I had A LOT of troubles because i'm sensitive to mohair and almost each pattern I liked used second strand.
This has me laughing so much! I have to agree on swatching, I cant be bothered with it! I've not had good luck with it either, they always lie to me! But with that said, it has taught me so much about my knitting and I've gotten better at making my garments fit so maybe not a total fail?
Not knitting but... I also quilt. And I mean, by hand. All of it, the patchwork, the quilting, the binding, all of it. Someone once asked me to make her a full size quilt... I was not able to refuse 'politely'. In fact, I'm still laughing! So yeah, very okay to just say 'no'.
Death sticks lol nice. As far as subscriptions/mystery yarn, I already struggle with using my stash up so I don't want to add yarns to it that I may never use just for the fun of the mystery. With one exception! I really do enjoy yarn Advent calendars. So I treat myself to one a year even though it's against my better judgment because opening a yarn every day makes me very happy. I started doing this during the first holiday season of the pandemic and it really helped to lift my spirits so I keep doing it now. However, I do try and be careful who I choose from because while there are a lot of pretty yarns I don't tend to use variegated or speckled yarns very often and usually those are the special themed indie dyer ones I see. The one I have coming this year is coffee themed, so I figured I'm going to get a lot of blacks and browns and I'm down with that!
I'm chronically ill, live in a badly insulated appartment, and our winters are nasty. Not because they are very cold, but because of the humidity. Humid cold is THE WORST, especially if you have joint problems. I spend most of the winter wrapped in many layers of wool and fleece, and knitted bra's add a nice extra layer of warmth. I especially like racerback bra's, for keeping my back warm. But as a crop top, they're a totally silly idea. I tried wearing them like that in the summer, since all the hip girls are doing it. Had to take it off immediately, because it was waaaay too hot. Makes you wonder if others are just doing it because it's the popular thing to do, and not because they actually enjoy wearing woolen garments in the summer.
I definitely sent one about wearing shawls.. I have a hard time wearing them with my wardrobe, but I love seeing people wear them! I definitely wear a blanket trailing behind me around the house so maybe I do need a shawl haha.
I haven’t made a knitted bra yet, but it’s on the to-make list. As a breast cancer survivor, I now find underwires somewhat uncomfortable (and fit is an issue), and I think a soft, knitted bralette would be so cozy to lounge in. I don’t really need the support-for me it’s all about the comfort now.
I also personally don’t swatch since I have crocheted before knitting I know that I have very loose tension and so I just size down my needles and I usually do top down garments and clothing like my first clothing being socks and I just removed a few stitches from the original pattern to make it more tight around my feet. I have also crocheted sweaters by going down a hook size and it works like a charm
9:20 this is true and as someone with big boobs (well over DD), I wear a bra or a Skims bralette under all of my bralettes. It was such a cute look over the summer though, I cannot lie. Now that the weather has turned, I wear them as loungewear. during the summer, I would pair a bralette with one of my wide legged linen pants and it was such a cute look. Granted I knit as much length as I could with 1 skein so all of my bralettes were more like cropped tanks.
I tend NOT to knit for others. I picked up the craft because I wanted to make things for ME! Even my husband and kids rarely get knitted items from me, mainly because they don’t care properly for the items I knit for them.
I knit at the gym on the treadmill/eliptical/stationary bike bc I have adhd and hate cardio. I call it my "cardio distraction" normally just like a washcloth or something small.
I so agree with all of your opinions! Mohair feels scratchy to me and I remember my best friend from high school wearing one - in the early '70s! How about a show about podcast complaints? 3 hours and hawking products tops my list.
Naked knits wrap bra, I used KFO silk with a wide elastic in the band - I was surprised at how secure the ladies are in it! Now I haven't worn bras since I was a teenager because I hate them, especially wired and padded ones so my idea of support might be different but I can do yoga in my wrap bra, be upside down and have no spillages 😅 I also use it as crop top in the summer and for underneath loose fitting tops like my outline tank by Jessie Mae. I think the elastic is key though and making it a bit smaller than you think you'll need in anticipation of it stretching out.
Hilarious episode! I just cast on my first project with mohair and…meh. It will probably be dated within the next year. Glad to know I’m not alone in my mohair ambivalence (or my other unorthodox knitting opinions as well)!
i use knitted bras as tops in the summertime, and as an undershirt in the colder months! I hate regular bras, especially ones with an underwire and I just need a little something under the shirt to hide my nips and smooth out the silhouette. Personal preference ;)
I agree I rarely ever use mohair, it is soft to me but I just don’t like it much. I am using siri on one project now because the sleeves are one strand of it but that’s the extent 😂 Also I like knitted bras but I got medium/smallish tata’s but I use it as an extra warmth layer not for support!
On the mystery yarn thing, I would like to see dyers do limited monthly runs of colorways. Show us the colorway beforehand, and that's the limited run of the month
Girl, you make me laugh so much. I don’t always knit something because I think I’m going to wear it. Sometimes I do it just because it’s pretty and I love looking at it knowing I made it, especially shawls. The half and half is just too plain for me and I don’t apologize to anyone for passing on it. Bralettes are great for modestly chested women who live in cold enough climates that an extra layer of wool is advantageous or it’s being worn as a pajama top. My two cents for what it’s worth.
I knit and walk. I started last spring while working on a personal project (first ever sweater I knit for myself). I knit myself a gansey. During the research stage I watched these videos of women from the 1920’s knitting ganseys while walking with these giant baskets of kelp on their backs, over rough terrain and they were FAST! I figured if those ladies could do it, then my butt could do it on paved paths and sidewalks😂
I made knitted bras to wear under things like hoodies where nothing will be seen. I’ve been looking for bras made out of all natural materials and just can’t find any. The cotton bra is uncomfortable by days end so I’m working on a wool one. That being said I’m also not very well endowed so there’s not as much to hold in there
For tubular bind-off, I tend to agree that it's not worth it. But I just finished the November Jacket by petite knit and on the double-knit hem at the bottom, it's definitely worth it. I tried a few different bind-offs and none of them compare even at all. Even though it took me ages (400+ stitches), it's totally worth it in this case. One thing that helped the sewn bind-off was the yarn I used worked really well to do split-splice, so I didn't have to have miles of yarn on my needle, I just had reasonable amounts and the spit-spliced new lengths.
I have knitted for years. I have never knitted socks, shawls, brioche stitch, with mohair or a sweater with a name. I knit patterns I like, many are old, & it is OK !
So fun! I think knitted bras work well in the vertical garden holding up the ‘melons ‘ there 😂. Maybe can be used as a sassy double grocery market bag 🤣. no offense to the designers I’m sure they are practical someplace ❤
It had to be said… 😂
I'm literally knitting a bra as I watch this!
They just don’t work for women with big boobs at all 🍈🍈
Thanks for watching with me!!
As someone having smaller than size A cup, knitted bras are very ok. 👌😄 Using cashmere or some other luxurious yarn makes me (and my minus A size breasts) feel special. 🥰
I’m jealous! I’d love to be able to utilize this. I can imagine a cashmere one 😭
"those of you who make knitted bras...if you could just tell us why?" Kaci, I am dying... so funny!

You are definitely becoming my favorite pod caster !! Love your casual fun style ..... 😊
Thank you!!!!
I love knitted bras for comfort and lounging. I only wear them out if under an oversized hoodie. They are mainly good for me just to chill at home!
The half n half wrap can be king with any light weight yarn Impo. If your interested in any knitters opinion who knit one.
That’s so sweet Catherine! I love that! And I think the baby alpaca would be lovely
I lol'd. That was amazing. Your timing is EPIC! Loved it! All the best! Kimberly
That is awesome! I love it!
You so hilarious. You make me smile and chuckle. I loved the part about the bras. Do you have any videos about your beekeeping?
So many good takes here! 😄
My opinion on walking and knitting: Walking for me is pretty much a "dead time" like a commute by bus or train or something. You don't usually have to use your hands while walking, so why not just make it more productive? I usually carry around a small and easy stockinette project everywhere I go so I just grab it whenever I get the opportunity. I also sometimes read while walking and never lose my attention to the walking and traffic around me, so no worries. This is strictly limited to the summer months because my hands get really cold too fast 😔
About those shawls: I love shawls, or shlankets, but you know what I don't understand?
Take care.
"Trip and fall on my death sticks"! This had me laughing out loud. Love it.
😅
So enjoyable! You are going to love wrapping yourself up in your Half and Half Triangles Wrap on those chilly days. Also, I tend to think of knitted "bras" more like the "corset covers" of the late 19th century, a decorative layer...unless you are someone who really doesn't need a bra in the first place.
You are a funny lady! Thanks for multiple chuckles in the first 15 minutes!
You are an absolute joy to watch! Love your podcast. Keep up the great work
You are my knitting twin! I 100% agree with all your scandalous knitting opinions. You're so much fun to listen to and your "death sticks" comment had me LOLing. 😂 Thanks for an awesome podcast!😍
😂😂😂 thanks for watching!
I do knit and walk but mostly because I knit in the bus and the subway and I need to walk between them. And if I'm in the middle of a row I might also knit all the way to my desk. I was used to walk and read, knitting is a lot easier.
I wish we had more opportunities for that kind of walking and knitting! We live in such a rural area.
Take care. Bridget
Yes! I wish I had not stashed so much yarn 😅!!!
Unpopular opinion… the half and half wrap is just a baby blanket wrapped around your shoulders and over rated.
But but but, I know so many knitters who are on their 3rd, 4th and even 5th blanket (re I mean shawl 😂).
@@catherinecunningham7126 I just don’t get it… 🤪
That’s exactly what it is 😅😂😂
Girl! You have no idea how much I needed this. Sometimes the world gets so focused on not sharing opinions. We all have opinions and it’s totally cool to share them. Of course, don’t be mean. Which you totally did a great job of sharing opinions in a fun way. Breathe world, don’t be so serious!
I'm a fairly new subscriber, but I've caught up on your older episodes. I'm also a respiratory therapist. I am loving your podcasts. :)
I bought mystery yarn once, 5 or 6 years ago. Still unused. I won’t be doing that again!
This episode made my day! It was hilarious😂 Thank you for making me smile today, Kaci🥰
Kaci, you are such a delight! I love your wit and seeing your beautiful projects. Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching!!!
This was great. Totally agree about knitted bras! LOL!
Hahaha!!
Thank you so much for this episode! This was the most hilarious thing I've seen in a long time.
Love this episode to funny Frank and true! I love my half & half, I use it as a blanket or wrap around my shoulders on the couch watching a movie, I do not wear it out and about.
SO enjoyed this!! I agree with most of your thoughts. You are a great vlogger.
What a fun 🤩 wonderful episode! I hope you do this again! I felt myself knitting a little faster today as you shared those fun unpopular opinions. 😂 😂😂
Thank you for knitting with me!!!
This was a hoot to watch. I don’t swatch either. Lol. It’s got me into trouble but oh well See you next week
So FUNNY! A must watch. Thank you Kaci.
Thanks for watching!
Omg Kaci, I'm dying laughing over the knitted bra section 🤣 I'd need it knitted in some strong yarn held triple to hold my ladies up 🤭
Actually, I live in Florida, and am knitting a Half & Half Triangles Wrap!
Very true!
Never have and never will make a knitted bra... working on my 4th Musselburgh hat... love your podcast!!
I want to try that pattern!
Every time I hear “walk this way,” I think of the hilarious Monty Python spoofs. Look for it if you’re not familiar! 😂😂😂
I definitely sent one about wearing shawls.. I have a hard time wearing them with my wardrobe, but I love seeing people wear them! I definitely wear a blanket trailing behind me around the house so maybe I do need a shawl haha.
So cute, clever and entertaining! Loved your podcast!
Completely agree with you on mohair! Thanks for sharing
Fall and trip on your death sticks 😂 That would happen to me too, I'm a sit and knit kind of gal. This was such a fun episode!
Thank you for joining me! ❤
16:21 you're my kindred spirit. I avoid swatching at all cost. I only swatch if the ease is 2 inches or less.
I think the half and half shawl would be great to have for a cold office.
You make me laugh out loud so hard, I love it. Thank you, wonderful episode 😀
Thank you for watching!!
I tend NOT to knit for others. I picked up the craft because I wanted to make things for ME! Even my husband and kids rarely get knitted items from me, mainly because they don’t care properly for the items I knit for them.
Greatttttt podcast! I vote for knitting socks and walking! Thanks so much
I knit at the gym on the treadmill/eliptical/stationary bike bc I have adhd and hate cardio. I call it my "cardio distraction" normally just like a washcloth or something small.
Really enjoyed this one. I agree with almost every thing you said. You are brave to say your own opinion on popular ways
Thanks for watching!
I so agree with all of your opinions! Mohair feels scratchy to me and I remember my best friend from high school wearing one - in the early '70s! How about a show about podcast complaints? 3 hours and hawking products tops my list.
I think I agreed with pretty much all of those unpopular opinions 😂🤭 Thanks for sharing Kaci, this was really fun ❤️
🤣🤣🤣
I think the only way a knitted bralette could be supportive is if you make the band smaller than your size calls for and weave elastic through it.
This one was a lot of fun and I agree with most of them 👀
i use knitted bras as tops in the summertime, and as an undershirt in the colder months! I hate regular bras, especially ones with an underwire and I just need a little something under the shirt to hide my nips and smooth out the silhouette. Personal preference ;)
I agree I rarely ever use mohair, it is soft to me but I just don’t like it much. I am using siri on one project now because the sleeves are one strand of it but that’s the extent 😂
Also I like knitted bras but I got medium/smallish tata’s but I use it as an extra warmth layer not for support!
On the mystery yarn thing, I would like to see dyers do limited monthly runs of colorways. Show us the colorway beforehand, and that's the limited run of the month
Moondrake does that. 🙂
I wish I I wasn’t so busty and I would love to wear one ❤
I. Ever wanted to knit a half and half triangle either…until I cast one on last month!
Hahahahaha!
Thanks Kaci love all the opinions on knitting “dilemmas” 😃👏🏼🥰🧶
Loves this episode, despite your opinions on Mystery Boxes 😂😂😂😂
I knit and walk. I started last spring while working on a personal project (first ever sweater I knit for myself). I knit myself a gansey. During the research stage I watched these videos of women from the 1920’s knitting ganseys while walking with these giant baskets of kelp on their backs, over rough terrain and they were FAST! I figured if those ladies could do it, then my butt could do it on paved paths and sidewalks😂
Ohhhhh my goodness this episode had me howling 😂so so good!!
I made knitted bras to wear under things like hoodies where nothing will be seen. I’ve been looking for bras made out of all natural materials and just can’t find any. The cotton bra is uncomfortable by days end so I’m working on a wool one. That being said I’m also not very well endowed so there’s not as much to hold in there
Let me know if you make you one love!
“Death sticks” 😂
Truth 😂
For tubular bind-off, I tend to agree that it's not worth it. But I just finished the November Jacket by petite knit and on the double-knit hem at the bottom, it's definitely worth it. I tried a few different bind-offs and none of them compare even at all. Even though it took me ages (400+ stitches), it's totally worth it in this case. One thing that helped the sewn bind-off was the yarn I used worked really well to do split-splice, so I didn't have to have miles of yarn on my needle, I just had reasonable amounts and the spit-spliced new lengths.
Oh Kaci , girl you are good. Death sticks!! hilarious and true.
