THE Sonos amp is a 2 channel for 2 speakers if your set up of 4 speakers are not set up in parallel you may want to get a speaker select box with impedance matching cost about 40 bucks. because dropping the impedance in 1/2 by this setup puts a load on the amp and the amp with run hot and can fail down the road
The visual diagram was amazing 👍🏼 I requested my builder to tie 2 different rooms into one volume control but thanks to this I’m going to have them add the second volume control
@@boxiii quick question, that I’m still a little puzzled on. Did you connect the “left” speaker of each room the left of the Sonos amp and the “right”to the right? Or is one entire room plugged into left and the other room to the right?
@@boxiii good information, thanks. Understand both VC are stereo type. Got lost when you answered Alan regarding left CH (SONOS) goes to left speaker at each room, while doing the same for right CH. Both VC's are connected in parallel for each channel, but then connect the output to each set (Left pair, then right set)? A diagram +/- connector will help.
Couple questions - 1) If you start playing music and the volume control in one room is turned to 0 is the only way to get sound in that room to physically turn the nob or can you do it remotely as well? 2) Same idea - if the physical volume nob is set to 5%, can you use the app to remotely turn it up to 75% or do you always need to use the volume control nob?
I am setting up the same config, even with the volume controls. Curious what speakers you ran to the left output on amp and which ones you ran to right on amp? Do I do a left speaker from one room and a left from another room in the left output, and then rights from both rooms into right output? Thanks
Great explanation.Thank you for the video. One question: I have 5 rooms in my house with the same setup you have mentioned with the volume controls, i need you suggestion on how to setup all the control/speaker cables to one amp?
If I have one sonos amp connected to 3 different rooms (with in-wall sonance speakers), can I control what music is played in each room via the app? Or is the same music played in all the rooms?
Thank you!!!!!! You definitely explained that like a two year old... and now it makes sense how I can connect it to my alexa! I'm so excited! Are you in California?
Just purchased a new home and russound speakers are installed throughout. They have 4 wores connected, how do you connect these to the 2 amp terminals? Thanks
Yo bro, i was thinking about doing the same thing in my garage with the in ceiling speakers, but its humid in the south. do you think it will ruin the speakers?
Hey good and helpful video , but I notice many unanswered questions below regarding speakers and controllers . Any updates ? How many speakers per channel and how ? Plus details on volume controllers would be nice . Thanks
Question, I set up the amp for my patio speakers, I am having trouble switching from another room to the amp to play the music outside in the APP. When I set up the amp, it didnt let create a "room" for just my patio. Did you face any of these issues?
is the voluime control a zone impedance matching control? Also, is the amp the "output" of the volume control and the speakers the "input" of the control?
I did one set of in ceiling speakers. I got a 300 watt volume knob but every time the volume goes up over 70 it drops to 15 and amp restarts. Any ideas.
Nice job on the video - thanks for posting! Quick question (I think): Is it possible to connect your TV to the amp, then use the connected speakers as output for your TV audio?
The repetitive explanation of the different zone was a little much, you should have just started with the drawing and explained it once. Thanks for the video.
@@crenlyfrias8793 No, I have the exact same setup and needed 2 Sonos Amps. In order to have 2 zones you will need 2 amps. 4 speakers connected to one for the in wall / in ceiling setup and one for the 2 outdoor speakers. Only way around this is to install a knob that allows you to turn down the 2 outdoor speakers but they still would only be able to play the audio of the 6 speakers if together.
Orbi sucks brotha get you some eero pro6e's. Take it from someone who installs all this you make videos about professionally for many many years now. And you want 14/4 bur we use nothing less than 16/4

Absolutely great explanation on how to do this! Great job!!
What volume controls are you using? Also, are the den speakers both plugged into the left port of the amp? Or is one on left and the other right?

great explanation my friend.
Smart. So cool. Loved the video

Same music
Can u connect those ceiling speakers to the Arc, so you can have proper overhead speakers?
Yes, you can! If you have the amp in addition of course.
The max volume low on the app I mean not the low but is there a way to max out more . Could you possibly turn up the volume from the amp?
Can’t wait to see the cable rack setup!
That one volume knob, assume it's a potentiometer, will not control stereo. You will need a separate knob for each channel

Can you do 6 speakers? What prevents anyone from adding more? Or using a splitter to add more?
What is the model for the volume control used in this solution
Very helpful info, thanks a lot

Two questions. 1. Can I play two different music using one amp? 2. How many speakers can one amp take?
1. No
If you cant hard wire the Network to the Sonos Amp, how does the wifi work on it? Is it that bad?
What volume switch did you use?
What ohmage did u work with using 4 speakers ?
First, awesome video and explaining. What prevents anyone from having 6 speakers? Either plugged in back or maybe a splitter?
Nice job on the video - thanks for posting! Quick question (I think): Is it possible to connect your TV to the amp, then use the connected speakers as output for your TV audio?
Absolutely! They can work as a stereo pair or as rear surrounds if paired with a Sonos sound bar. Thanks for checking out my channel!
@@boxiii Thanks again!
Great video explanation of different zones and how they work together/separate!
Thank you 🙏🏼.

Agree. Felt like the last 3 mins is just the meat.
First
Need more than 1 amp... 1 amp only does max of 2-4 speakers. If you have like 5 or 6 zones you need more amps.
That is correct! Thanks for sharing.
FYI - 1 Sonos Amp can run up to 6 Sonos Architectural speakers. Just need to wrap them together and plug into the same port in the back.
@@RyanC1384 will they all play the same music? I'm looking to do two in walls up front, 2 in ceiling in the back and two outdoor in the same amp
