5 years on, and I still clearly remember my first time watching this. And the three ways it changed me. The first one is that this the video that made me decide to buy Train Simulator. The second is that this video got me interested in watching train sim videos. And the third and by far most important is that this amazing video saved my interest in trains as a whole. Because at the time when this was released, I was being bullied in school for liking trains. I told the school what was going on and it stopped for a few days, but started again. And then I saw this in my video feed. It had been online for two days then, and it reminded my of why I liked this hobby and that there are others out there who also like it. That, me attempting to deal with the main bully and a slightly different measure taken by the school, the bullying stopped and did not start again.

I saw him in Melbourne on his Australian visit in the late 80s. It wasn't as significant to me at the time as it is now as I wasn't fully aware of his history even though I had known of him since my childhood. Now I know just how special he is.
I'm in Melbourne Australia. I saw Scott when he visited here in 1988. Now it's April 23 2023 two months after his 100th birthday. He looks somewhat different on both these occasions but he's still the same engine at heart.
First time I saw flying Scotsman was about 6 years ago when it visited the seven valley railway during the autumn season And more importantly This engine has been drawing in the crowds where ever she goes ever since
I can't say anything but... Just... absolutely stunning. A spectacular video! The directing was sublime and the use of the HTTYD music was a perfect choice.
Today, February 24th, marks the 100th anniversary of the Flying Scotsman, the first steam locomotive in the world to reach 100 miles per hour! 100 years for the first to go 100 mph! How incredible! Happy 100th Birthday Flying Scotsman!!!
Yeah, but locomotives are described as beautiful. And women are beautiful. Plus, Flying Scotsman is not the name of the loco. It is the name of the train that goes from London to Edinburgh
We all owe sir Nigel greasly for bringing this legend engine to life and we thank pegler giving scotsman a second chance in life. And we thank sir William mcailpine for saving scotsman
Indeed. And now let's hope he has the heritage protection he is entitled to! He's not an age old historical building that can stand unscathed for countless years. He's a locomotive. Parts break down, parts need replacing, this is unavoidable but heritage protection means that he must be maintained. Any reconstruction required must follow the guidelines of his historical appearance. He should always look like himself. (those smoke deflectors are a matter of debate!)
When I first watched this I couldn't help but get a little emotional. But I agree we should all thank Mr Alan Pegler for giving 4472 a second chance. R.I.P. Alan Pegler and LONG LIVE FLYING SCOTSMAN
Idk the correct song but it sounds similar to a soundtrack from how to train your dragon 2, it's the section of the movie where hiccup and hims mother are together
I don’t know how but my Spotify playlist played the tracks coming back around and flying with mother in that order, the same as this vid it was pretty cool
Can someone please give me the name to the song when The Flying Scotsman leaves the station and is supposedly going 100mph? P.S. I say supposedly cause it didn't look like 100mph.
just a thought for a video you can do if you still doing train simulator, here's my thought: in the beginning the newer engines like the flying Scotsman, the mallard, big boy, tornado (basically the legendary steam trains big and small) all tease the rusted up engines for being old and not in use and barely able to do the jobs they do, but the rusty engines wanting to show them that they can even keep up with the mallard by making a bet, if the rusted engines can do the same jobs that the new engines do and beat them they get to work along side with them but if they lose they will stay on a siding, the new engines accept and the challenge begins( and a song called grit, sweat and love plays) the rusted engines do the jobs just barely managing to get them done a few even rusting up alittle more but with the song in the background at 1:56 to 2:32 the rusted engines suddenly felt like they would lose but then they remembered back in there day they would take any challenge no matter how hard it took or even if they rust, suddenly after remembering there promises to each other to run even when rusted up and nearly broken down they push them selves harder doing there jobs faster and harder and doing them on time, then when they finish the new engines were shocked since they never saw engines work that hard even when rusted up, but unfortunately the rusted engines had worked themselves too hard and were barely puffing and soon die but with smiles (or imaginary smiles i guess XD) on there face so do you think you can make something like this?
I've especially wanted to mention that I personally love how Alan Pegler generously preserved the famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman for exactly 3,000,000 pounds to continuously service UNTIL the famous locomotive designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman has been withdrawn from service! In fact, it's completely obviously clear that I personally just heard the Flying Scotsman proudly say he certainly did owe him for another fair chance to run for @ least 50 years! Although, however, it's completely obviously clear that they certainly did manage to keep the famous locomotive from 1923 built proudly straight in Doncaster designed by Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman safe from the horrifyingly horrible faith of getting cut up into pieces by the Scrapper's torch right along with every single other type of machinery that's basically been scrapped!
I've especially wanted to mention that I personally think that Alan Pegler generously WOULD definitely be looking down from heaven knowing that the famous locomotive designed by the famous Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley known as the Flying Scotsman that he'd preserved is making him proud along with Sir Herbert Nigel Gresley!

There’s a big birthday celebration for the flying Scotsman next year and it’s 100 years since the flying Scotsman was built
This is mayoorhan's best video that is not a railworks race
Just seeing flying Scotsman once is a sighting of a lifetime
I saw him in Melbourne on his Australian visit in the late 80s. It wasn't as significant to me at the time as it is now as I wasn't fully aware of his history even though I had known of him since my childhood. Now I know just how special he is.
I'm in Melbourne Australia. I saw Scott when he visited here in 1988. Now it's April 23 2023 two months after his 100th birthday. He looks somewhat different on both these occasions but he's still the same engine at heart.
Can I get this on DVD please?? This wants me to see the Flying Scotsman more than ever!!!
First time I saw flying Scotsman was about 6 years ago when it visited the seven valley railway during the autumn season
And more importantly This engine has been drawing in the crowds where ever she goes ever since
who knew trains could make you cry then get your heart melted
Welcome Back Scotty
me : sniff sniff
my friend : r u crying mate ?
me : no im my eyes are sweating
I can't say anything but... Just... absolutely stunning. A spectacular video! The directing was sublime and the use of the HTTYD music was a perfect choice.
Thanks Makkenzy, and I can't help myself with the HTTYD soundtrack. I just adore it :P
TheScotsmanReturns yeah you could make several engine tributes with that music.
+Chris Shackelford he has
The first ever engine to reach 100 mph!!! True king of steam!!! The Flying Scotsman!!!
This, honestly, feels like a wonderful ending to a movie.
This is a great short film. Good job
THE SCOTMAN FLYS AGAIN!!
I did not know it was play httyd theme song till it enter the station is fit so well with Scotsman hai to the king of steam
Today, February 24th, marks the 100th anniversary of the Flying Scotsman, the first steam locomotive in the world to reach 100 miles per hour! 100 years for the first to go 100 mph! How incredible! Happy 100th Birthday Flying Scotsman!!!
I got goose bumps from this. This is just amazing. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish they would restore Flying Scotsman to his LNER era look.
It’s a her
@@Bahamas-rd8le Flying ScotsMAN
Yeah, but locomotives are described as beautiful. And women are beautiful. Plus, Flying Scotsman is not the name of the loco. It is the name of the train that goes from London to Edinburgh
@@Bahamas-rd8le Then whats the name of the loco?
Flying Scotsman. BUT originally it is the name of the train. But still it is a “she”
Full of emotion and adrenalin this is just amazing
jae veal yep.
@@elainelethborg2550 u mean she*
A big thank you to all of the owners who kept Flying Scotsman still in steam!
When I first watched this I couldn't help but get a little emotional. But I agree we should all thank Mr Alan Pegler for giving 4472 a second chance. R.I.P. Alan Pegler and LONG LIVE FLYING SCOTSMAN
This is brilliant, one of my favorite steam locomotives ever actually, plus this makes me want to get the Hornby model of it :3.
Thanks :)
And considering the variety of Flying Scotsmans HORNBY have, you're really spoilt for choice.
No problem & LOL YEP.
i like the music
Absolutely gorgeous as always my friend! :D
Thank you :)
LONG LIVE THE KING OF STEAM😀🚂🚂🚂
Why am I only seeing this now??! This is amazing and the How To Train Your Dragon theme goes so well!

Wow... I'm speechless, tis to awesome for words.
Haha thanks =)
sam Lyons agree.
Wait a minute. I know that music! That's from How to Train Your Dragon!
+DanielChannel57 yeah it's Test Drive
And it fits with The Flying Scotsman!!!!!!
I think it's the first time flying scotsman got to 115mph.
What's the last song in 5:45 called?
Idk the correct song but it sounds similar to a soundtrack from how to train your dragon 2, it's the section of the movie where hiccup and hims mother are together
LONG LIVE THE FLYING SCOTSMAN!!!
It really make senses now flying socty is back from hell BABY
I don’t know how but my Spotify playlist played the tracks coming back around and flying with mother in that order, the same as this vid it was pretty cool
115mph in an A3.....if only. although i think we all owe mr alan pegler for giving scotsman another chance.
The flyingscotsman is returning to steam on March 6th 2016
Can someone please give me the name to the song when The Flying Scotsman leaves the station and is supposedly going 100mph?
P.S. I say supposedly cause it didn't look like 100mph.
It’s a How to train your dragon theme, look at description, also in 2 years I’m the first one
tornado :hurry, flying Scotsman the passengers are waiting you at the station flying Scotsman: I will be right there 2:39
just a thought for a video you can do if you still doing train simulator, here's my thought:
in the beginning the newer engines like the flying Scotsman, the mallard, big boy, tornado (basically the legendary steam trains big and small) all tease the rusted up engines for being old and not in use and barely able to do the jobs they do, but the rusty engines wanting to show them that they can even keep up with the mallard by making a bet, if the rusted engines can do the same jobs that the new engines do and beat them they get to work along side with them but if they lose they will stay on a siding, the new engines accept and the challenge begins( and a song called grit, sweat and love plays) the rusted engines do the jobs just barely managing to get them done a few even rusting up alittle more but with the song in the background at 1:56 to 2:32 the rusted engines suddenly felt like they would lose but then they remembered back in there day they would take any challenge no matter how hard it took or even if they rust, suddenly after remembering there promises to each other to run even when rusted up and nearly broken down they push them selves harder doing there jobs faster and harder and doing them on time, then when they finish the new engines were shocked since they never saw engines work that hard even when rusted up, but unfortunately the rusted engines had worked themselves too hard and were barely puffing and soon die but with smiles (or imaginary smiles i guess XD) on there face
so do you think you can make something like this?
You are a master of your craft.
This had chills going down my spine on cue.
Thanks :)
You are very welcome. It is very well deserved, and keep up the good work. I look forward to your future videos :D
The one question I still have does anyone think that Flying Scotsman could still hit 100 mph again or no ?
Isn’t that the How to Train your Dragon theme?
Yes, it gives me the feels when I listen to it.
I love this old steam engine
He is very strong and best
My favourite steam engine
This movie made me to cry
Greeting from Germany

BSM Iron (Panzer) Lawl hello lads im new in youtube comunity can you help me out a bit on how to get good vids?

I can only echo the comments before me here. Fantastic work!
Thanks =)
I didn't realise that was Jake as Scott!
the video is fantastic, the flying scotsman is my favorite steam engine of all, the train simulator is the 2016 or 2017
I MISS THIS SO MUCH!
Roaring fire, thundering rails,
12 coach express passenger train, down the mainline
Hit that magic 3 one last time, Scot!!
If only more people like him where around. May he rest in peace
If you could Favourite videos on UA-cam! I love this video!!
Amazing job!
I wish they restored flying Scotsman to the LN ER paint scheme with 4472 be beautiful
