Steel posts ARE included in freestanding kits. If your cover is very large or needs high snow loads our standard cloverleaf steel posts are not strong enough and you need 1/4" thick walled 3" x 3" or 4" x 4" square steel posts. If this is the case and you are not in So Cal then it makes more sense to get the heavy gauge steel posts locally rather than paying us to ship them. We can ship them with your kit if getting them locally is not an option.

Robert, I got a quote from Alumawood and specified a freestanding installation. The automated reply stated that steel posts are not included in the parts supplied by Alumawood and that the customer is responsible for supplying these posts. I noticed that the Alumawood cloverleaf posts are not solid. Can you expand on the posts? In other words, are the cloverleaf posts all that are necessary or is there another steel post set inside the cloverleaf posts? Please advise.
