So Valentine is not Jaces biological father, but he *did* raise him pretending to be Michael Wayland.
Jonathan Christopher is Jace's given name (by Valentine), and also Jocelyn and Valentines sons (Clarys brother) name.
Also Malecs declaration of love is just so adorable. I love my boys ❤
Loved the moment that Simon can feel the sun on his skin...and Jace wanted badly to tell Clary about the not being siblings but he didn't want to ruin that moment.
Also weren't the Malec "I love yous " so cute
This is such a good midseason ep! One of my favourite moments (of the whole show!) is when Alec and Magnus say that they love each other, and they hug again, and the camera just stays on Alec who really sinks into the hug, pauses briefly, and then closes his eyes and just like breathes Magnus in. Such a beautiful moment 💓 Glamoured Jace was a decent twist! Simon soaking in the sun was a great moment too. Lots of great moments and lots of things set up for the rest of the season 🤩
Ace vampire representation ftw! You did comment on it a little bit and yes, it is practically unheard of before (or, as far as I know) since Shadowhunters. Vampires are such desire-driven creatures that the thought of one of them being ace is somehow odd...but I love it! Sadly, I don't see it working between him and Izzy, though - and not because Rafael tried killing a bunch of Shadowhunters 😂
It was a rather smart plan.... Manipulating Jace into making a sacrifice play to activate the sword.....

I agree that the JC/Jace parentage issue was always confusing. I don’t think I tried to fix my confusion about that when I originally watched the show.
Definitely one of the top episodes, the rest of the episodes following this one are also pretty decent, much better then the first half of the show!
This episode is SO!! GOOD!!! The twists and turns and the action and the emotional moments are all just amazing!!
Good on Izzy for not taking the secrecy from Raphael. Hopefully not being around him means she can overcome the addiction easier, but they are cute. Also, yes!! So glad you commented on the interesting turn that is an ace vampire - it's something you wouldn't expect and I love that representation :). Anyway, glad Raphael is okay
About Simon*: I think the wound didn’t heal because he was cut with a Shadowhunter blade. They’re supposed to be blessed by angels or something
Jace and Clairy not being related was a big twist for sure. Just like Jace, I had just started getting used to it and shipping her with Simon. Now I'm back to team Jace (their chemistry is just better 🤷 but then again, Jace has chemistry with everyone 😂)
