    A couple of thoughts after changing two tires (19 and 21" motocross).
    1. Center wheel shaft support flexes and a LOT of force can be put on the spoke nipples during tire removal. I now have heavily distorted spoke nipples on one wheel.
    2. I've never had a tire as soft as the one in the video. And you do need some pressure in a tubed setup to simulate a Mousse; this is how you get the bottom tire bead removal to work like in the video. Otherwise, you have mashed spoke nipples..
    3. This is a great tool that is optimized for changing Bib Mousse setups during races, where you don't care if you scratch rims. Tubes are still a bit of work and usual caveats apply (care not to pinch, etc)
    Overall a good product that does same me some time but mostly saves wrecked hands and a sore back. I think a good stand and the right hand tools are almost as good. Finally, you do have to learn the proper technique with this just any other method.

    I still want to see any you tube dirt bike tire change where they actually change a difficult tire. I want to see something with a really stout sidewall like a Motoz Rallz or Kenda Parker DT. All these videos the tires look super soft and flimsy. Also do it in cold weather when the tire is a stiff as possible

    I never bought one because I kept saying it’s too much money but I broke down and bought the rabaconda with all the tire irons and it’s well worth every penny ,makes it so easy and I even installed a few mousse for some friends, just can’t say enough about how good this is built and how easy it makes changing tires, tubes and mousse, I even change a few goldwing tires

    Just got mine and put on a set of michelin starcross mediums.
    It does make it easier but this tire in the video is either the softest tire ever made or a 19” tire for an 18” rim or a combination of both. I did it exactly how he did and it took everything I had to get the last 1/4 of tire on. 45 minutes on the front 35 for the read. I will get quicker but never better then 20 minutes. Still a good product.

      lol, yep, like every tire changing video on youtube, the tire is a soft tire that's been changed 100 times so practically slides on, probably quite warm also. Mine never go on that easy, are stiff walled, and after breaking a massive sweat, throwing 6 or 7 tire irons, I finally manage to get it on and narrowly avoid ripping the bead.

    I do A LOT of tire changes in our Powersports shop. If you are struggling and sweating and hearing the bead ripping, you are NOT observing the rim and tire design rule: The drop center is there for a reason! Keep the bead down in the drop center by whatever means necessary, and the tire will take easily 1/4 of the effort you are experiencing. Once you do that, a tool like the Rabaconda is just a way to save some time. If you don't, you will comment here about how it sucks.....BECAUSE YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.

    • @Rabaconda
      @Rabaconda  3 роки тому +1

      Amen! The whole paragraph is pure gold! That's the single biggest reason for tire change struggle (second being not using some lube). We wish people would print out and hang this quote from you in their garage "The drop center is there for a reason!"

    Aside from the bead breaking arm, this doesn’t do anything that my $100 tire changing stand can do. I’m still providing all the grunt to dismount/mount the tire on the rim. On top of that, all the tire irons shown in the video must be purchased separately? It’s really not clear where the $500 value is in this picture.

  • @DikkeBetha
    @DikkeBetha 3 роки тому +3

    I tried dismounting a Heidenau K60 Scout 140 rear with my Rabaconda by pressing it all the way down (as shown at 01:50) but the tire said no. The sidewall won't give in to the lever force despite being pressed all the way down and stays stubbornly on the lower bead. Do the same thing with a Anakee Wild: no problem comes right off. By the way, the tire used in the video must be super soft as eays as it goes. Reality is often not this nice. That said, i'm happy with my Rabaconda but stiff enduro tires can still be a bitch to mount/dismount, even with this device..

    • @Rabaconda
      @Rabaconda  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, not really recommended. The wheel rests on the wheel supports on spokes. so That's how you can spin it. If its a cast wheel, then there is nowhere to support the wheel. Yes, you can spread the supports and rest on the side of the rim, but then the bead breaker is not adequately positioned. BUT!!! We have a tire changer coming out that is especially designed for cast wheels. It's a scratch-free mounting-dismounting system.

      Hi Bobby, it is easier to have the tube slightly inflated and change the tire with the same technique as you'd do with bib mousse, instead of completely letting the air out of the tube and pulling it out or sticking it in when mounting. You can see the tube valve being installed from 2:08 in the video.

    Went to dismount a Dunlop MX33 110/90-19. Worked NOTHING like this video. The only thing this overpriced scam is good for is breaking the bead. It does NOT push the tire over the rim, period. I went back to the tried and true method of spooning out over both sides, dropping the rim into the tire and the tire just comes off. It does nothing for mounting. I've tired contacting them but nothing. My family bought it for me at Christmas, but I was injured and didn't try it until now. So I can't return it. GARBAGE.
