At 5:18. work on the technique. turn the rim the other way. Use the bead breaker to force the tire into the dish on the opposite side of the rim where you're levering on it. Gives you the most room. You can use cheap spoons for that cammed into the rim that when you lever opposite the spoon the tire slides down into the dish. I change bibs with a standard tire changer and technique key. I use 2 bead buddies to keep and a cheap spoon to keep the tire in the dish while you lever. I have been wanting on of these for a while, but even with this machine... Proper Technique. I used a 5 gallon bucket for a year or so... then a 15 inch steel rim on the ground with a rigged up all thread bar to hold things in place. The finally after moving to bibs my wife bought me a standard stand for my birthday. I moved to bibs and have been to cheap to buy one of these. The will just make it easier. I have been doing my own tires since I was a kid on a bicycle and a young adult on a dirt bike! Lets just I've changed a few.... ;-)

I have one as well and I agree there is an initial learning curve. I’ve changed over 100 tires with mine and I never noticed or used the hook for the first iron😂.

There is no rotary bead remover/applier? Pity

Considering this product.... Why do you suspect they pair metal shims to remove or add rhe tires when this can damage the wheel? Why is it not metal with a hard but pliable rubber coating to minimize/reduce any metal to metal contact?

Are you referring to the tire irons? They need to be thin and strong. They do not cause any damage to the rims used properly.

I use an old car tyre as tyre changing stand

The worst part of tire changing is fighting the rim locks. I usually can do the front pretty easily, but the back tire is the problem. I always wind up using a dead blow hammer to hit the tire over the rim lock. I use an old kayak rack that goes in the receiver hitch of the truck that has a rod welded on it to hold the wheel. It is not the best thing, but it keeps me off the ground.

It's definitely been a helpful trick for me to install the rim lock under one edge of the tire first! Then getting it over the other side is pretty straightforward. Rabaconda's tutorial displays that method well. Kayak rack sounds like a sweet DIY setup!

Your video shows you struggle at the end with a tire iron. Push DOWN ON THE OPPOSITE END OF THE TIRE and the tire iron will work like a knife through butter.
At $450 I'll stick with my tire irons... LMAO😂
