This is a great video. I would offer one caution. No mention was made of the arrow on the tire showing rotation direction. It is too easy to install the tire so that it rotates opposite the intended direction, don't ask my how I know. Other than that point, this is the best tire change video I have seen and I have seen many.

Nice video! It makes understanding the rim locks a little easier. I have an old 83 CR 480 and it has two rim locks. That's a real fun one to get together! I'll see if I can use your points on installing the rim locks

      Nice bike you’ve got there!
I’ve never changed tires with two rim locks. I imagine that will make it much trickier.

I've seen lots of videos to help me decide if one of these kits is worth it. This video was pitched exactly right, who needs to rush removing/installing a MX bike tyre. I don't usually comment on UA-cam videos, but this one was very good and well detailed. Great video thanks for sharing.

Great video, i love the tips on the rim lock. It looks like keeping a stiff tire in the drop center is a key to the installation. How do you insure that is done correctly?

      Thanks, Keith!
I know what you mean! A couple of years ago I use to struggle a lot with tyre installation and every time I watched “UA-cam” tutorials it all looked so easy.
May sound crazy, but one day I kept practicing for about 5 hours straight 😂. Mount tyre, unmount tyre, mount, unmount… I was using tyre spoons without Rabaconda. It finally “clicked”.
I tried to share the concept of it on this video as much as possible but ultimately, just practicing will make it easy.

Hello, please tell me how many tires you change to Rabaconda dirt per year, during the season

    • @RoiaMoto

      Hi mate,
I make 3-4 changes per year but that’s for our riding group of 3 riders combined.

      Hi Fred
It’s from the company Rabaconda model Dual Sport tire changer.
I have another comparison video with the models they offer here in the channel.
This model is better suited if you use rim locks.
      Cheers

What do you think about the RimShield II from Motion Pro?

    • @RoiaMoto
      @RoiaMoto  7 місяців тому +1

      I have them as well.
They work but make installation slightly longer and harder. Sometimes they can still slip out of the rim but overall it adds a layer of protection.
Worth specially if you have nice wheels or want to avoid scratches. Changing tyres with spoons will sooner or later lead to scratches.

@@RoiaMoto Ah! Thanks for the reply. I have one big scratch on a rim, and my eye always goes to it. It came from having a ramp loaded in the truck with the bike too. I just can't stop seeing the missing paint on my black rim! This was another excellent video with a beautiful green background. Very, very helpful. Thank you. You do such a calm, informative explanation.
