Armada really has come a long way. And they're reliable, too, way more than all of the other SUV'S too!!! They really have knocked it out of the park here!!!
It's a lot more than just being based on the Patrol, it practically is the Patrol. The older generation of Armada had nerfed driveline components and a less sophisticated 4x4 system when compared to the Patrol. Specifically the driveshafts, differentials, and cv joints were all smaller and weaker which made them much more prone to breakage. This new armada has not taken such unnecessary cost cutting measures. This is great because the same people who want a pro-4x are the same people who would turn away from an Armada that is weaker than a Patrol.
Nissan don’t play around when it comes to their legacy nameplates. The patrol is a huge name in the Middle East and Australia. If Nissan were to mess up this truck it would affect those markets. Meaning the armada is as best as it gets. PROS: 1. VR motor has been around for awhile actually. 2. That 9speed trans is pretty good and is designed by Mercedes( IT IS NOT A CVT btw. It’s also used in the titan, frontier, Nissan Z and the Aston Martin DBX) 3. The overall looks of this thing is my favorite, saw a post on IG with it wearing the Nismo wheels and it looks amazing. Finally the interior is up to spec. 4. Love the fact that the seats fold totally flat so you can use it as a platform for an air bed etc. CONS: 1. It’s still a turbo engine, while Nissan has been making new turbo engines I would think that they have finally nailed down the reliability. I read somewhere that they played around with the cooling and oiling of the turbos. especially anticipating that the truck will be at an incline when off roading. 2. Cooling can be an issue, I am not sure if it has an air to air intercooler(air to air is good) or a water to air intercooler(good, but not the best). 3. It’s probably direct injection, is an everywhere now sadly. You can help the engine by installing an aftermarket oil catch can(Do some research on this, can cost anywhere between $50-$500). I am sure Z1offroad will make a kit for this truck. Tips if you plan on buying one. 1. Change your oil every 5k miles atleast. 2. Install a aftermarket catch can 3. Change your trans fluid at 30k miles if you can. Do not exceed 50k miles 4 if you want your car/truck to last do your maintenance ahead of schedule, these manufacturers are purposely setting intervals too high know that the vehicle will be out of warranty by then and then it will break causing you to pay out of pocket or buy a whole new car. For example I am a Toyota tech, I’ve seen Toyota telling folks it’s 10k miles for oil change on the new Camry, if you follow that advise your car would barely make it to 120k miles. If you do it at 5k however you have a really good chance at making it to 200k. DO YOUR RESEARCH FOLKS‼️
Man Nissan should really consider taking out the moonroof on the Pro-4x vehicles. It takes so much head space of the vehicle and reduces vehicle rigidity.
Beautiful rig, but those wheels have got to go. 18 inch wheels max and a taller tire. Still prefer the 5.6 V8, but the twin turbo is more desirable than the hybrid setups. Ultimate ski vehicle, better late than never!
Im just glad the armada is not a stripped down version of the patrol. I wish the seqouia had an option of having just a twin turbo v6 without the hybrid stuff. They should price this competitively, it'll sell like pancakes.
Sorry, I had to point this out........ 7:47 to 7:53..... Never heard another man so excited about inches..... lol. Now the inner child is out of the way, when can you guys start comparing the vehicles? Something like TFL?
like it ..wish they would name the extreme off roader..... "the patrol" but this will be a loaded ,3 row luxury family school bus ,massive moon roof ,power fold tilt power this and that, like the Sequoia TRD PRO $85k and will never see off road
@@justinsalazar9070 do like the sequoia pluses , has a solid rear axle ,over the independent rear axle like the rest , the fold down 3 rd row and 2nd row take up to much space for me to even consider a sequoia we want camping space ,one has to look at payload ratings also
Do car reviewers know you could replace the tires for maybe $1,500? Why a big deal about the tires on a $65,000 vehicle? Also, no mention of the hidden rear wiper? A big deal if you live where it snows. Thanks Nissan. Looks like my new vehicle but a poor review by you two guys.
Thanks for stoping by, sorry these 2 points are deal breakers for you. Feel free to step away from your keyboard to see it in person if you prefer. Thanks for watching and happy thanksgiving 🦃
Is it? Its a Patrol its in its own league it will destroy any American SUV, even a Landcruiser can't keep up with a Patrol. These things are tested in terrains way harsher than what North America terrains are like. I seen one of these Patrols pass every vehicle in the Amazon Jungle with ease. There were ZERO American vehicles there btw no one was going to risk the failure. Of course American fanboys will have a fit but its known worldwide get over it.
It's cool, but I hate auto trends in today's world. If you're going to make an offroad vehicle, make an actual offroad vehicle. This is just the mall crawler with a few extras.
Looks better at least. I want it simply because it’s different and not as common.
hell yeah man. i have a 22 model and it’s a rarity out on the roads. my dad has a Land Cruiser which is basically an anomaly 🤣
I think this looks 2nd best to the Sequoia
The future of Nissan is bright
Man, Nissan getting back on the horse, finally.
Rear locking diff is nice. Wish manufacturers besides chevy would include a bench seat in the front, but this is a tempting buy.
USA doesnt have "Land Cruiser" (300 series) but u guyz got the new Y63 PATROL (rebadge as armada) which is way way way better than 300series!

The review I have been waiting for!

That is one beautiful beast.
Nice solid well thought out effort. I like it
I love it, looks like I might pick it up. Love the Pro 4X

Can you test 2025 rogue rock creek on the hill please when you get a chance
I kinda wish I was looking for a big 3 row cause the new Armada looks and seems great!
Love the look of this. Just don't like the closed cockpit and button shifter. Really prefer a real shifter.
Looks awesome 😎
Beautiful rig, but those wheels have got to go. 18 inch wheels max and a taller tire.
Still prefer the 5.6 V8, but the twin turbo is more desirable than the hybrid setups.
Ultimate ski vehicle, better late than never!
Now if nissan would've listened to consumers and made the TITAN Warrior.
I totally agree! Nissan needs something to compete with the TRX/RHO, ZR2 and Raptor!
The slap a GTR motor ! Thats wild 💀
Huge step in the right direction for Nissan USA

Very nice but my main question is does it have trailer brake control
Yes it does
Gonna get a frontier pro4x until the titan comes back. But i also want a hybrid or electric car :(
I might trade the Titan pro 4x on this! But I’d rather keep the v8

It’s like the sequoia but unfortunately it doesn’t measure up to the power and workload that a sequoia can handle.

About to take some of Toyota lunch box.
How much ?
Those botton they are plastic, they should put better material, or atleast matte color they easily get scratches, and very noticeable
Bergnaum Mountain
Wow 🎉

@ 👍
Patrol way better than chavy or ford
Plus Toyotas v6 turbo still outperforms this rides motor, why is that???

Is air ride reliable?
It's cool, but I hate auto trends in today's world. If you're going to make an offroad vehicle, make an actual offroad vehicle. This is just the mall crawler with a few extras.
This is basically a patrol. Plenty of off-road capability
HILL CLIMB!
Approached. Angel. Needs. More. Around. 6. Inches. Higher . Ground clearance. Must be. 15. Inches.
Good engines , nice designs horrible horrible transmissions. Not just the cvts
they all the same EXPENSIVE
It’s copy and paste all over and has same cargo as a sequoia!!!! Pure 💩 and a huge miss 🤦♂️
Tows 8500 lbs that’s cute 🥰……. Sequoia’s boast 9000 😈 sorry but I’ll take the sequoia TRD PRO all day over this ride
A Nissan is a Nissan, not the best and only mediocre.
Terrible transmissions
I would get either a used Ford Excursion or a used Square body Suburban over something new that's just me
