We apologize for the mis-speak. The 2025 Nissan Armada has an Independent Rear Suspension (not a solid rear axle).
Wth why? Isnt that unconventional?
I'm glad Tommy checked to see if he could fit in the back. Like he said, that could be useful information for somebody that wants to camp out of it. Over all it seems to be decadently well thought out vehicle.
I was going to say. The Armada has always been independent rear suspension.
I agree with Tommy. I have a 2013 QX56. Today was the first time riding in the back. Wife was driving MIL in front passenger and car seats in the second row.
It wasn’t overly cramped, but I wouldn’t want to go in a vacation and have someone over 6ft sitting way back there.
I do like they have updated the way the seats tilt.
@@Movableobjectno. Expeditions have been IRS since like 2005 or something. GM SUV’s since 2019, and the 2nd gen Sequoia was from 2008 to 2022. Armadas have always been IRS
Now if Nissan can bring back the Xterra based off the new Frontier, that would be greeaaatttt..
Yes please!
That would be awesome
Hell yes! Nissan is stupid sometimes
Xterra was very cool, but a Nissan Patrol is one of the best off road vehicles on the planet...google Patrol Y60, Y61, Y62 off road....luckily your Armada is full fat Patrol finally
Amen
Dropping the Titan instead of updating it like this was stupid.
Americans prefer luxury suvs over luxury trucks. They get their wives $80,000 suvs and drive $50,000 trucks because thats what the base models cost. They sell more and its literally that simple
The Armada is made in Japan, the Titan was made in the US with a different platform, so the US arm of the company must have felt a need to go in a different direction while the Japanese homebase can afford to support this vehicle as the Patrol is a global success. Apples and oranges.
Nissan did say that they’re making a one-ton PHEV pickup with Mitsubishi for the North American market.
Yep. As an owner of the Titan I got rid of mine. Sweet truck. Tired of Nissan d1cking around. When my accident happened I waited 2 years for air bags. Transmission went south about 90k miles 7 speed it had. Warrantied but it costed 14k for a new transmission without it. Everything on the truck was expensive to repair. Why own a Nissan when the parts you replace on like any other truck of the big 3 is way cheaper. Reliability was ok. I did like my truck. But between them discontinuing that. And the xterra. I have several xterras. Just put a sour in my mouth for Nissan. Plus the Mitsubishi my wife had. A Mitsubishi outlander with the cvt Nissan uses went bad 3 times in 50k miles. On all of them they have the resale value of a ford. Terrible.
@@faheemabbas3965Anything to do with Mitsubishi should be DOA
I’m a Ford guy. But a Vehicle enthusiast !!! So happy to see Nissan back in the game !! Hopefully we’ll see another full size truck soon!!!
The better the competition, the more goodies we get !😊
should be nice to see small diesel engines for heavy vehicles
Yeah I've been noticing the new Nissans on the road more and more so finding this video was awesome. Good to see Nissan going hard, they've always gotten flack for those CVTs despite being very reliable cars
To bad they are about to be bankrupt in 12-14 months. Even the CEO took a 50% income cut.
I'm glad Nissan finally gave us the real Patrol in the states.
It's not the same
@@OshoLeehow so?
@@OshoLeepretty much is. But I guess Nissan is much much different from Nissan. I should have known that Nissan is a much sophisticated company compared to Nissan. I’m such a dumbass for thinking that Nissan could compare to Nissan
@@OshoLeeit is, it’s just that they added some plastic cladding to the fenders.
Weird opinion of mine, but I think there should be an option to have them color matched for the Pro-4X.
At the cost of the Titan
Man, it looks awesome. Glad to see Nissan getting the Armada into the off-road game. Wish the 5.6 was still an option. That’s why I preferred the Titan over all the other current options. Classic reliable basic V8.
Nissans turbos are super reliable. Also…WAY better than a hybrid.
basically all nissan engines are reliable their only problem is with putting cvts or liek the nissan rogue putting a 3 cylinder in a mid sive suv it just aint made to haul an suv
That should have been "Classic reliable Beast V8"
This 3.0 is pretty bulletproof, it's been in the GTR for 20 years (in 3.8L form) and the q50 Red sport and q60S for the last 10 in 3.0L form as here. I'd put it way ahead of the Ecoboost in demonstrated reliability and even beyond the 5.6.
@EchoAccordNissan doesn't manufacture a 3.6L V6...
Looks amazing! Only wish an updated/new/even old Titan were also included. Look how awesome a new/updated Titan could be.
Agreed. Sadly the Titan is extinct at years end.
Nobody would buy the Titan. So why would Nissan waste money on it?
@@andyleo8418 Thats because Nissan failed at marketing the Titan. It is a great truck.
@@scott8238Full-size truck buyers are loyal to their brand. There's not enough marketing money to change their minds. It's a fool's errand to try.
@@scott8238 very reliable and very capable vehicles
My bank account wants to wait for the 2025 KICKS PRO-4X 😂
We have owned a brand new '07 Xterra & a brand new '09 Pathfinder. Those were solid bulletproof rigs. Never gave us 1 issue just routine maintenance at local Nissan Dealer: Oil Change, Brakes & Tires.
Sold, getting this over the Toyota Sequoia. 3rd row folds flat and no hybrid battery hump.
Resell value is bad. Be careful what you wish for.
@@andyleo8418 no one cares about resale value, bro, and plus the sequoias are blowing up which is made in America, which is bad compared to Japan.
@@choosealongerhandletocontinue Resale does matter because most people switch cars every 5-6 years. Sequoias are not part of the recall. Stop pulling stuff out of your a** 🤡
The new sequia has low resale value
@@andyleo8418 sequoia are made in America though and I don’t want American trash. This is a re-badged patrol bro, patrols are way better and better resale in the Middle East so no one cares about America.
the design of this Nissan Armada really gives me the tahoe/yukon vibes
Looks like a cross with a defender too
Well considering the Yukon Tahoe Escalade platform outsells every other large suv on the market combined, that’s no surprise.
I was thinking the same thing!
This is the first Nissan I’ve been impressed with since the GTR debuted. Dang. I thought they lost it completely. Good job Nissan!
What about the Altima?
Bro don't ever disrespect the Altima like that
Not even the new Frontier?
@lightsfansofthewest481 frontier isn't new. Old chasis with new metal and interior. Z is an old chasis too.
@@lightsfansofthewest481 I haven’t driven one, but I think it’s one of the better “compact” pickups if you want a more basic/simple truck like the Tacoma used to be. Hard to be excited about that, but not a bad truck. Though I’ve never really been a fan of Nissan interiors, they all seem pretty cheaply made and the layout is odd if you’re not already used to Nissan vehicles.
Just impatiently waiting for the return of the Xterra🥺
Honestly with the registration for a pick up truck in California, I’m kinda vibing with Nissan on this one
I’m in the same boat
I prefer this Armada Pro-4X over the new 4Runner.
4 cylinder turbo , pass
Bro there is no comparison between the 2.
I haven’t considered buying a Nissan since my 2010 GTR… This is now on my short list for next family hauler…
Welcome back Nissan. We've been waiting.
So about Xterra.....
Good for Nissan investing in off roading more but this is the perfect time for an updated Xterra. Everyone I know that hates Nissan still say great things about the Xterra.
The Redesign made the Armada look really good, glad to see it get a facelift.
Whoever did the facelift is guilty of malpractice. Absolutely hideous.
This is actually an all new generation rather than a facelift but yeah I agree it looks awesome
It’s a clean looking design. I do like the interior as well. I’m glad Nissan hasn’t gone with the “stick an iPad on top of the dash” kind of look.
They should call it Nissan Armada Patrol, give it all the Patrol upgrades and watch sales go up. Just the Patrol name would make sales go up.
The mid 30s woman driving this vehicle has zero knowledge of what a Patrol is or its significance. Nissan knows its market.
I am thrilled with Nissan putting together of such a newer on-frame for the Armada for 2025.💯💯🙌🏻🙌🏻
Take notes, Toyota Sequoia!
Let's go nissan! Love to see a slow turn for the company. The Pro4X Frontier is such a great vehicle, essentially what the Tacoma was before with a cheaper price. If they did a new xterra they would have some money makers on their hands. Economy cars (sentra, maxima, altima), Suvs, (Murano, rogue, pathfinder), Then offroad trucks (Xterra, Frontier, Armada and maybe a new Titan)
Trust me within the next 1-3 years Nissan will release a new Xterra. The market is right for it, they already have the frontier platform to use, all they need to worry about is the design. Plus since they killed the titan and maxima they should have more space for the Xterra so it’s a no brainer for them
@@dejonm2001 Maxima and GTR are coming back but in electrified form.
This is much better than what I was expecting from them and I’m real interested in the Pro4X. The color and contents and all are just right. I wish it had an AT tire on 18’s, but that can be fixed.
Thanks for the Armada/Patrol lesson! Glad we're getting a light off-road option! That interior is... an improvement for Nissan.
Looks good. Titan needed this type of treatment.
My first thought was this looks like a Tahoe, in a good way. Also that interior looks awesome. It’s a shame the Titan didn’t sell well enough to get this update.
This is awesome! I always said that they were missing out in the US market by not offering good offroad options for the patrol/armada. Unfortunately, Nissan always has a habit of missing the Marc in North America. The discontinued the Xterra, literally a couple of years before the four-wheel-drive Renaissance were in now.
completely agree, Nissan marketing and strategic departments must of been asleep at the wheel. for heavens sake, the Armada is a Patrol!!!!...you have an 'off the shelf' Pro 4 X version just sitting there. ....numpties!
Look’s phenomenal and exactly what I was hoping Nissan would do with this refresh! Prob out of my immediate price range for now but I suspect in a few years I can find one with low mileage and save 15-20k. The Pro4X though is sweet! So glad for driving modes, proper rear locking differential I think they knocked this out of the park compared to Tahoe, Yukon, and Sequoia for the price too it’s sweet.
That thing deserves the name Armada.
Meh, I wish they still called it a Patrol in the states.
The Y62 Armada is a hidden gem if you need to tow with room for people and need the capability of 4-lo. I think its going to go through the same adoption and enthusiasm that happened with the Lexus GX.
I had a GX460. It was okay for towing, not great. The real hidden gem is the LX570. 8 seats with an easily removable 3rd row, tows extremely well, has that tiny 112" wheelbase that is fantastic offroad. Fits 35's easily and can lift 3" without any mods.
@@Jay-me7gwya but they are very expensive and very thirsty and not quite a bit to maintain
This is what Nissan should have done with the Titan instead of eliminating it from their list of vehicles offered. If they'd updated the Titan and offered all the features of the new armada I'd been in their showroom buying one.
All about you want and not what Nissan needs to stay profitable.
Do you even know how much it costs to invest in a fully new from scratch Titan, with no guarantee of ROI? This will be produced solely in Japan, while the Titan would need hundreds of millions to be viable in a retooled US plant with numerous new US suppliers.
You guys don't think about those things. The current titan still uses the F alpha platform, which began creation in 1998-99. Facelifting for Time 3 that was restrictive and a no-go.
@@nwezetx1 I reckon every premium model costs manufacturer about 1 billion dollars to get the factory setup and ready to go. What a nightmare.
@vm2003 Yup, 100 percent correct. A little cheaper for some programs, but hundreds of millions for factory retooling and new dyes.
It's like people saying they'll buy a new Supra with a 2jz but never do when they see the MSRP and then the company goes bankrupt. Lol.
@@jerryp2433 Exactly. I find it pretty childish
I like it!!!!!! If the V6TT proves to be more reliable than Toyota I don’t see why this can’t be in the top 3 of sales.
TFL MUST BUY ONE!!!!😮
That's looks pretty awesome! I dig it. Glad to see Nissan improving their lineup. Thanks for the video.
I have been waiting for the armada to be closer in specs to the Aussie patrol
Was the last one not quite close? I thought they were pretty similar.
@@ALMX5DParmada and patrol have some mechanical differences
@@Windows7Pro2009 sure though I am just unclear how this one is closer than the previous generation was.
@@ALMX5DP last one was less off-road capable. I don’t think it had a front locker and it didn’t have all wheel drive or something either.
@@choosealongerhandletocontinue oh gotcha, I don’t think either has a front locker but seems like this new generation gained the rear locker which other world models had. The last generation had 4-auto I believe though no Patrols were particularly offroad oriented as this new Pro model seems to be. Seems like rear locker aside they were pretty similar.
The ubiquitous Patrol is a legend in most places in the world it is offered, up there with the old Landcruisers. They are highly valued and still one of the most modded off-roaders in the UAE, where they will uprate them with every kind of engine that will fit. I've seen everything from turbo diesels to full on trophy trucks with twin snail womping V8's pushing 1300hp. Good to see Nissan putting more capability into this offering, but not calling it the Patrol in the US was both a miss but probably the smart move for comparison's sake.
And you couldn’t do this in a titan why? Nissan leadership is rudderless, just butchered that whole platform
yes nissan!!!!! you’re doing it!!! you’re doing it!!!!
This looks awesome! Nissan is back!
Should’ve updated the Titan like this. I would’ve traded mine in immediately
Welcome to the new US Nissan Patrol! America needs it. More quality options, more competition, less jacked up prices!
I drove a rental one last year and it was super comfortable, but that v8 was thirsty!
Great video! Finally - a possible replacement for my aging Land Cruiser 200! It would be quite a change for me given I have driven Land Cruiser since 1987.
Why not pick up a 2021 Land Cruiser or LX570?
Love it!!! Thanks for the locker Nissan!!!
I’ve been waiting for this since 2017 I’m so Happy they made an off-road version for the states
Nissan needs to call it what it really is The PATROL !!!! Nissan also needs to keep making the TITAN it wasn't a bad pickup but the similarities to the F series trucks is what really hurt the sales.
I had Nissan Titan for a couple years. Never again....
Right why can’t they rename it as Patrol instead of keeping the bland name Armada.
The Titan was just ok but really was not competitive. It had to be cheaper than the competition to sell well, but how do you make it cheaper when you are only making
maybe they don't own the rights to the Patrol nameplate in the USA? Nissan Armada 'Patrol' would have been better than Pro 4X
I’m pretty sure the patrol has a solid rear axel, the armada does not. They should have given this a solid rear axel if they actually want it to be a respectable off-roader like the patrol.
Finally a truck and a setup that I can agree with.
I like this way better than the new Sequoia TRD Pro. Full bench seat on the 2nd row, full flat load floor and any octane fuel you want to run with 425 HP. A win in my book.
Locking rear differential would be really nice in the SV and SL. Just give us that option Nissan!!!
I’m definitely getting this next spring
Wicked unit, only thing missing is a XD version with the 5L Cummins
No one liked the 5L Cummins. It sucked. Thats why it only made it 3 years before they killed it off.
I had a 2018 armada and loved it. I would only get around 8mpg towing our camper. Camped in the rear and had plenty of room. I liked the v8, but mpg sucked. I traded it for a silvarado with the 6.2l. Towing is much more stable in my truck, but I would love to get another armada if the mpg is improved. I need to see 22 for highway driving.
This motor would been a fun option in my 24 Frontier.
Beautiful!, I think this front and interior will be used in the new Nissan frontier 2025
Hope this encourages Toyota to sell the 300 series in the USA. Loving this truck over the crappy new “Land Cruiser”
This thing looks like a beast, I really hope it sells for them
As an American who dislikes Toyota and has always loved Patrols I'm happy we are finally getting one too. Nissan is on its redemption arc.
I have the same opinion about Toyota.
As good as ever Tommy, thank you. This will do well for Nissan. Rear locker is a big bonus, and at least you still have the grunt from the twin turbo V6 without the V8 thirst.
The 5.6 is/was a top feature of Titan and Armada - I was kinda excited about the new Armada until you opened the hood.
I haven’t been a big fan of Nissan’s latest design language with their armada, but this is sharp looking and it looks like they’re up to snuff on tech. If the price undercuts the Sequoya and GM twins, I can see Nissan gaining a bit more of the pie than they currently have. Even more so if the aftermarket world comes in with lots of options.
The irony is that the US market dictates an enormous PETROL 4X4 when Australia's market is primarily diesel for efficiency purposes.
This vehicle is far from enormous. And diesel is usually anywhere from 50 cents to a dollar more per gallon. Diesel continues to have a negative connotation in family cars in the States. There have been numerous efforts to make an efficient diesel option in small, affordable cars, but they just didn’t sell.
This thing looks awesome and i'm happy that it has a diff lock, but good god, the amount of tech in that.....maintenance will be a fortune!
I think this directly competes with the Sequoia more than other makes/models . We'll see how this Twin Turbo holds up, it has been in the Infiniti line for a while and good. I like the dash/interior here better than the Toyota design. Looks like a big upgrade for Nissan. Great video!
That might be my new favorite soft-offroader available in the states.
Now Nissan needs to give us a NISMO Armada 🙏
Huh? Pro-4x is the creme de la creme of Nissan trucks.
Nope. There's a more extreme version called the Warrior but it's only available in Australia. I'm sure there will be a Warrior version of this that will be Aus only as well.
If they make a nismo version it will probably be for the middle east market only not for the NA market
A 500+ HP Nissan Armada Nismo would go so hard
@@dejonm2001 it would be SICK!
This is a Nissan Patrol Warrior
Imagine a Titan like this!!
Isn't Titan a Pickup Truck?
NOT A NISSAN FAN BUT THE FRONT END LOOKS GREAT...PUSHING THE LIMITS WITH LED LIGHTING
Still waiting to hear something about the rumored Xterra.
Drooling over this!!! When will you guys do a test drive on and off road???
I’m a Nissan boy but when did they start throwing all these dope (albeit a lil unnecessary) features??? I’m so happy with the direction Nissan is going and I’ve been waiting to live in a Nissan golden age like the one from the 90s

Oh that’s nice. It is like the alternative to the LC 300 we can’t get. I have an LC 200, but would think about this as an alternative if it came time to find a newer model.

Please make a real 4X$ test truck in mountain (mud, crawling, descending) of the 3 road big family SUVs Trucks: Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, GMC Yukon AT4, Land Rover 130, Toyota Sequuoia, Ford Expedition Tremor, Nissan Armada Pro4x, Toyota Land Cruiser .. .we need to move a big familie across crosscountry, crawl tracks and ascending mountains.
Damn, I’ve been saying the Land Cruiser was my dream vehicle for years…but this new Armada is so tempting
You probably don't know this, but the hole in your pants is on full display @1:47 and on. Nice truck, though.
😂
I think Nissan is on a come back game. Glad that the desert king Patrol is in the US now. Bring back the Xterra please
They should have done this but kept the V8
We all can't afford the fuel
@@psynurseThis isn’t going to get any better mileage, chief
@@psynurse if you think the Twin Turbo V6 is going to get you that much better MPG you cray. Let’s not forget the dependability/ reliability will now be out the window .
@EchoAccord Without turbos sure, in a heavy ass SUV with twin turbos not a chance...see Toyota.
You can blame the EPA for that
I’d like to share some constructive feedback! The intro had me excited, as in the U.S., the Armada is seen as a comfy family SUV, but globally, it’s a rugged competitor to the Land Cruiser. I was hoping for a review showcasing its off-road capabilities in challenging terrain. Instead, it turned into a typical U.S. family review focused on comfort. I’d love to see more focus on performance over interior features to set it apart from standard reviews. Close but not quite there-hopefully, a redo can dive deeper into what makes it truly unique! Ah who am I to say anyway, keep up the good work!
Nissan. Bring back the Titan. Make the Warrior. Profit.

A 2020 titan pro4x is basically the V8 truck version of this and they still didn’t sell
The Aussies get a Warrior trim 😢
Good to see Tommy again
Should have just made a new Xterra
Great job guys very professional work
The main reason i bought my 2 Armadas was for that 5.6 V8, simplicity equals reliability and a turbo is a no go
My dad had a patrol in the early 90s. So I'm big on Nissan to come out clean.
I have to admit that this new V6 Twin Turbo from Nissan has 99% chances of being unreliable.
If Toyota could not get it right god knows Nissan will epically fail. I would play the wait and see game where at year 3-5 the truth will be out on the engine's reliability
Concur, we bought our 14 Armada because Ford only offered the 3.5EB in the Expedition that year. Glad we bought the Armada though, 10 years and 150K later it has been a remarkable vehicle for our family.
The Nissan 5.6 wasn’t exactly a simple engine 😂
@@36mcasta positive is that this engine has existed for years. The VR v6 is in the GTR, Infiniti sedans, and the Z. While more complicated than the VK56, it’s a good engine.
Nissan makes super reliable turbos.
This thing is really sick. Love it. Now let's see the pricing!
Nissan is back !!!
Looks amazing -- we'll have to see on pricing. We picked up an off-lease 2021 Armada XL last year and have really been enjoying it. We put on a set of AT tires on the 20" wheels and a skid plate and it really is quite good off road, even without a rear locker, but obviously the new one with the locker and adjustable air suspension will be even better. And the v8, with direct injection, is really not *that* thirsty. We typically get 19-20 on the highway. Not great, but really only say a 10-15% penalty over an offroad oriented crossover like a Pilot Trailsport. And with the price of vehicles these days, that kind of difference in fuel consumption doesn't amount to much over the life of the vehicle. When you're spending something like 30 cents/mile on depreciation, a few extra cents/mile in gas is kind of irrelevant. I wish they'd adopted the Patrol name for the US, though. Armada is needlessly over the top (my neighbor has nicknamed it 'the Armageddon').
Damn that looks good.
Get your eyes checked.
Wow! This thing is awesome. I love that front bumper. Approach angle for days. Unfortunately, my guess is this will be more than $80K and well out of reach for me. At least until it's about 6-7 years old and has a few miles on it.
The back end looks very much like a Tahoe, which isn't a bad thing.
Can't wait until you guys can get this thing to Colorado and do some off-roading with it!
Hoping pro4x will start at 70k but who knows. They do need to be competitive.
@@sunchaser999 I think as equipped with the sunroof and everything, I'm sure this one will be well north of $80K. I would assume there will be different packages within the PRO4X trim.
Can’t wait for Nissan to take my money on this new armada
I really believe once they get this out for a year or two we’ll see an updated titan come back to market, wondering if cutting it for a few years really was a better deal than trying to keep them on dealer lots as they were. Despite some of their issues in a lot of way they were better than the Big Three options, we’ll definitely see them come back (hopefully not as a twin turbo but who knows)
I'm actually shocked Nissan did this, I truly thought they were on their way out of North America
Finally, we get the Nissan Patrol! Its the Land Rover of the Middle East! It has some much off road capabilities!!!
MAKE THE 5.6 AN OPTION! COME ON NISSAN!
i know, that would've been so sick. They should've released these with the V8 like Jeep did with the Grand/Wagoneer and then discontinue it after a couple yrs.
They had it for over a decade and no one wanted it
Man I'd love it if Nissan brought back the Xterra
Looks good but damn....that much screen in place of a tradition gauge cluster just does not do it for me. Its way for the manufacture to cheap out while charging you more money.
Not to mention reliability
Nice rig but too much of screens. The new Bugatti hypercar doesnt even have all of those screens. I guess the very wealthy don’t really care all about that.
Wow everyone is excited about the rear locker, meantime my 1994 land cruiser has the factory front and rear locker!
Ray Thornton was way ahead of you 1941.
