My mods to get to a quiet thocky sound were much easier and cheaper. Ready to laugh? I sit my keyboard on a magazine, which is sitting on a tightly woven fabric placemat, doubled over ($2.50 from Walmart). Also added thin 40-A O-rings. That's it. Even the space bar sounds nice--none of that loud clunky noise. I have an RK61 Pro with aluminum case, stock PBT keys, Gateron reds. Placing the magazine on the bottom of the stack changes the sound. Still good, but I like it better on top. Oh, and the remainder of the placemat swings up over the keyboard and acts as a cover when not in use. I did order milky yellow pros and films for a heavier touch. I'll probably try adding the lower layer of foam in the case, which may allow me to get rid of the magazine, but I definitely don't need another hobby.
