    This was my first heli! It crashes really great. Learned everything i needed to on this thing to start going bigger.
    Sweet little heli. It loves to break at the blade arms first so thats the best bet if youre looking to buy spares
    preemptively. that and the landing gear, but the landing gear can just be glued back together most of the time.
    New booms and tail motors wouldnt be a bad investment either....unfortunately when the tail motor wire does break in a crash....the way it is routed SUCKS. so putting a quick release connector somewhere inside the boom would be the best option if it is an option.

      That is great information! I can definitely see this being a perfect first helicopter and teaching people a lot of the fundamentals.

    I bought it 2 weeks ago... It's a nice machine. I don't care to do 3D flying (sorry... I don't like it in planes either) I love the forward programming as I can set it up the way I like it (I giggled when you said you were going to add neg pitch cuz of course you would... LOL). Highly recommend this little bird!

      I think this is the perfect little model for someone who is just a normal sport flyer. Something with low head speed that’s not super intimidating. I definitely had to add negative pitch because I felt like I was burying the stick to get it to do what I want, and I like very sensitive helicopters, and I barely move my sticks to get my helicopters to do what I want them to do. Glad you are liking it!

    I absolutely LOVE My little Infusion 120!
    4:26.. Yeah, I put the 'normal style" 2S battery plug on there and use a Gens ace 350 Mah battery.
    7:39.. Mine's probably older than yours, and I was able to use the "Invert to bind" method. Holding the unbound heli upside down puts it in to bind mode. One of their other helis does the same thing. Pretty cool!
    I just fly around in FM-1, as I'm still working on getting my orientation right, but that heli is so nice and stable, it's really surprising!
    I can't manage to get in to forward programming on mine though, but good thing it's flying just fine.

      It is perfect for that. Front yard/backyard flyer that doesn’t scream with high RPM and doesn’t intimidate you..

    The Balde Infusion 120. "It flys". I got this thing when It came out. It was the heli that got me back into flying heli's. A week later I got the S1 and a few weeks later I got the S2.
    Compared to Micros from 10 years ago it flys Ok. But compared to current offerings from other manufacturers its really not very good.
    If for some reason you are unwilling or unable to to get something other than a Blade product this will work but there are much better options out there.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 місяці тому +1

      @@KrazyKoots I completely agree! Blade helis are for the guys who want to stay blade, BNF or download a file for there radio and go. Don’t care to setup radios or add satellites etc. there is definitely better options, no doubt about it. But for a BNF heli for a beginner it’s a good model. The S1 is definitely better but the infusion 120 is not bad!

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 I think the 130x flew better. Lol. Could be rose colored glasses I have not flown one for years but I remember that thing as being pretty darn good. It was what got me to buy the Infusion 120.

      @@KrazyKoots man! I hated the 130X lol I dumped so much money in that thing and it never flew right. It flew but not right, liked the Blade 180 CFX more. But we are definitely spoiled with the new stuff like the S1 and S2.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Like I said. Rose colored glasses. 🤓. I think it flew good till you crashed it. But also the competition at the time was the like of the Heli Max Novus CP and Walkera stuff which was pretty rough.

      The blade 230 S is a perfect helicopter for the average pilot or someone who is just getting into flying because it is low powered and not intimidating at all. Personally, my grandpa loves the blade 230 S more than any other helicopter ever made!

    Hi, Could please you do a comparison video BL2 vs Infusion 120

  • @nfavor
    @nfavor 2 місяці тому +7

    Have to respectfully disagree. I found the model WAY too twitchy sport flying. Let the guy at the LHS fly it (who does 3D) and quickly crashed it after take off. He said it was the first model he had crashed in years. The seam in the canopy is unfortunate (as well as replacement pricing). The grips are plastic (vs metal on OMP/Goosky) and will likely break if you crash. Did eventually adjust the PID's to tame it (low rates weren't enough) but replacement costs were noncompetitive vs OMP/Goosky.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 місяці тому +2

      I actually found it to be the complete opposite! I couldn’t get it fast enough for my liking. But! I like very sensitive models. I can see how for an average sport flyer or person that doesn’t like it to be very twitchy. It can definitely do that. The canopy is garbage, but I’m glad that they taped it at least on mine compared to the 180 where it just fell apart by touching it. The one thing I will say about crashes is it handles them very well at least in my case. My only negative complaint on the S1 is that boom mounting breaks super easy in a crash and the original blade grip were super weak. I know they upgraded them since I got mine, which was a preproduction Heli.

      I have tremendous respect for your videos and fact-based analysis WHRC.
      Your spot on on the S1 that's my go to chopper and I have a bunch of them. the micro heli boom upgrade is a must, a terrible design stock.
      keep up the great work.

    • @jgrc73
      @jgrc73 2 місяці тому +3

      never let anyone else fly your chopper. I've had a great experience with Goosky, also. Sounds like that pilot at the LHS owes you a helicopter, someone who really knew what they were doing would have no problem with "twitchiness" 3-D acro choppers move faster than your eyes can, practically. If you could fly 3-D he would say it slow just like this guy is saying. Just my opinion worthless as always but that's how I see it. My experience with spectrum radios has also been almost entirely negative.
      Best thing I ever did for RC helicopters was by the radio master boxer and I did that for a fixed wing but things work out in a funny way sometimes.
      This thing looks like it flies really well and I like how slow it is cause I'm old.

    Hey Jeff, unless I'm looking wrong, do you have a video on forward programming? I may have overlooked it searching your videos. PID is about all I could really understand. But I haven't been able to find a video on pitch settings. I didn't find a video really on anything in fp other than setup videos in fp, servos etc. Thanks!

    doesn't look too bad, But if I'm honest blade almost killed my love for the hobby till I switched to better brands, so I'm extremely wary of trying them again. Simply put more things break and crashes and parts cost three times as much, I would love to see blade become more relevant again, But the farther I am away from Horizon ecosystems the happier I am. kind of a bummer, I really love your videos, keep working it

    Love your reviews! Blade gets a bad rap, but they kinda OWN the BNF small helicopter market. I own 3 of the MCPXBL2. They are odd: linear servo, fast starting and the boom/frame connection point is weak. But, of all my Blade products, this model comes the setup almost perfect, ah who am I kidding, for Blade it was/is perfect out the box. Most need mid stick adjustment for 0* pitch. While i have not touched, flown or anything with this particular model, Blade should not discontinue the MCPXBL2.

    • @ericcoker8784
      @ericcoker8784 2 місяці тому

      To be fair though....the other "brand S1" is soo good I own two! Buyer beware though: the servos on the S1 are hit or miss. Meaning they will fail or have a dead spot. I needed a new boom and servo with other misc parts. Has never happened with a linear servo from Blade 😮...

      Thank you! I greatly appreciate it. These videos are not for sale to bash or say this one is better than that one they are just for people who are thinking about buying this particular model or that model to get a unbiased opinion of the model. I love my S1 and hands-down, a better model than the infusion 120 but they both have their pluses and minuses. Just like every other model on the market one is not better than the other one which ever one suits your needs the best!

      I had a disastrous time with the mCPX BL2 and not doing well with the Infusion 120. It just does not compare to the Goosky S1 in any area including durability. Blade should step up its game or else its sales will be confined to N. America.

    • @ericcoker8784

      @@zadaw7220 The 230 was not good for a first helicopter. Out of the box the stability modes were not stable enough. Interesting to note, intermediate mode was just as bad, but agility mode was ok. The Nano S3 was the SAME. After many trim flights, I kinda gave up. I had rebuilt 230 and the mechanical setup was done as instructed by a UA-cam dude (an Archery Guy). Agility mode was perfect, so I never attempted to try the stability modes ever again. I applied what I learned from the 230 to any Blade helicopter with a motorized tail.
      The Goosky S1 is soo far beyond the Blade stuff out of the box. Mechanical setup was perfect (I checked 0* midstick and other stuff). Tail authority has no rival in that size, the ability to cope with a breeze is awesome for its size and finally the build quality justifies its price. The S1 has a flaw though and hopefully it has been addressed. Those servos! The first one I got was perfect after many flights so I purchased another for backup. Well, the backup sat for weeks. I took it out and checked everything. All looked fine until the third flight on the same day. What I called the drivers side servo locked up and down she went. Hit throttle hold. Bent the tail boom and broke the tail blade. Repair was done with new servo and whatever else was needed. Perfect like the original. Then the original had the same issue! Damnit, but that was caught on lift off! MAIN BLADES got scuffed up. New servo and new blades, all good.

    In no way can this compare to a Goosky S1 or OMP M1. The parts are far too expensive for a start e.g. $9.99 for a main shaft and they do break frequently. I have had 2 instances when the bottom gear flew off a servo and I had to replace a whole servo.
