I got into PT school and this video I watched before I started. This video is so accurate. PT school is crazy challenging. It seems that I am the only working hard and everyone else is skating through. Once we started practical and finals they were falling off, not sure what was going with that.. I do not but I know I am working hard HARD. The material is not easy. I just take advantage of the extra hw/essays/assignments they give us. I am working my butt off.

Thank you so much for all the information. I’m an African who’s been here for over a year, I’ve never studied science and my parent wants me to do PT. I’m just like ,,,,,
Hey , i’m PT student in 4th year you’re right in everything i’m in the group of hard work and my friend is smart one she always says it’s to hard it’s too much and I don’t like what she says and always say we want to be PT why u make it so big 😂😂 , she wants to get A+ in all subjects and that’s almost impossible

Ex Med student going for Sports Massage before applying to PT in the UK (application deadline issue) shifting creative and business work to go back to a medical one! It's funny how back in my country 🇫🇷 I never took seriously Physical Therapy because of how tedious the scholar process is!!! 3years of scientific undergraduate program + national concourse to get accepted in physio school, then 5years ... Physiotherapists prospect students might as well just stick to med school for so much hassle Oh in comparison it's 3years undergrad in the UK!
I would love to get some help! I am just finishing a Business degree but I really want to get into PT. I dont know what courses are available online that can prepare me for it.
GuidetteExpert look up a program you’re interested in on APTA (make sure it is accredited by CAPTE) and see what the prerequisites are. you need to fulfill them to get in to the program.
Hello! It sounds you got your masters in business as opposed to a science field. What did you do for undergrad and how were you able to switch into a a dpt program?
I suggest you get some observation hours with a physical therapist. This gives you access in different settings and see if you actually will like it. Observation hours also are necessary for a lot of physical therapy programs applications. So getting this in person experience will also prepare you and let you ask questions you want to ask. (Keep track off all your observation hours/volunteer hours!) Good luck!
Hey , no one will make good info for how to study make a special study method for you . And the first and last thing ypi should know read , read , read and focus while you’re reading.
Same but I would recommend u to watch as much videos on UA-cam regarding as much u can and practice... I lack in practice which I will start doing InshAallah..and research and stay update about what new is happening in PT..best of luck 💪
Hello I am an English major who wants to get into PT but idk if I would be accepted? I’m planning to get a bachelors in English but I want to get into physical therapy...is that possible?
You definitely can - though if someone were to go down this route, the best thing they could do is become an authority on this by creating videos, articles, and other material around this specific niche. You won’t fill your schedule with local skateboarders (highly unlikely) but you could make a living by focusing on that niche and providing online consults as well as in person consults.
Hi there, how were you able to transition into DPT school when you have a masters in business? I'm in a similar situation where I have a Bachelors in business and didn't take the science prereqs necessary for DPT school.
Do physical therapists need assistants? Super curious because I’m supposed to be going to pta school in the fall, but I’m worried about the Medicare reimbursement stuff! Any insight you may have at all would be nice
PTs don’t actually need assistants but they can be great additions in the clinic. I don’t think they’ll go away soon but the changes in reimbursement may cause a change in how clinics hire and utilize PTAs
I’m sure people have worked weekends and evening jobs in PT school, but a 9-5 job would not work. Evening jobs may be possible but your schedule can be really variable at times. Some programs have a hybrid online/classroom setup. This could make it easier to have a job. But I would encourage you to find a school that costs 10-15k cheaper a year so you don’t have to feel like you need to work a full time job. You’re better off going to an affordable school and studying as much as you can vs going to a private PT school ($$$) and working part time or the entire weekend to pay for the tuition. You will likely sacrifice valuable study time to earn 10-15k. Hope that helps
I'm watching this because i might shift courses from nursing to pt as what my parents suggested. is it worth it? i hope so. i kind of having a doubt but is it worth it giving a try?
Ms. A don’t do it because your parents suggest it. Shadow a few different PTs for a few weeks and nurses as well. Then you can make a better decision if it’s something you should pursue. It’s not a career to “give a try” because frankly it’s expensive and takes 3 years of grad school to become a PT.
@@PTProgress i actually have no choice since it's my parent's decision, and the school that they want me to go only have two allied health courses. RT and PT, that's why I've been researching about physical therapy since I might choose this one. it's hard for me since I'm halfway to enjoy my so called first year- first semester of nursing but they made me stop attending school after that. and then here i am completely hopeless.
I'm actually in the same boat as well. I'm a first semester nursing student and my heart just isn't in it. I understand the things we are learning, but I'm not interested in it. I've been thinking about dropping nursing and pursuing an exercise physiology degree and then attend PT school. I do want to get in some PT shadowing this semester to see if I would enjoy PT. And from the eill decide once and for all if I truly want to pursue PT.
@@joyceemmaw6368 I'm in New Zealand 😊 for a second there I was like, woah, did I find someone going to the same uni as me?! im studying at the Auckland University of technology :))
no you don't I work as a tech at a pt clinic and I have worked with small petite physical therapy females who did just as much with patients as the man or larger females...granted doing manual therapy you might have to modify and work a bit harder to help the patient but size should not be a detriment to your wishes of going to pt school
I really like ALL your videos. They are informative, concise, and honest. Thank you!!!
Thank you! I’m glad you find them helpful!

Man. You just solidified my decision to be a RN and not do PT based on money alone.
what is a RN?

You are such an awesome person 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
thanks for making this video ✨
I've been accepted into a PT program that will cost me 150,000 and my undergrad was already 22,000. It's the only school that accepted me.
You still have options...even if you defer a year and get into a program that costs $50k less, you’ll be ahead financially.
@@PTProgress an update: I withdrew from the program and decided to go after a masters in finance

Usually DPT don’t go by Dr. Just heads up.
I wonder if you can look into the plight of thousands of PT Canadian interns/residents since the pandemic and make a video about it....
So you suggests public uni than private uni?
