Alcoholic here-Patrick is my name-I cannot stop drinking but I know God is right with me!!! Thank you for your prayers. This is very very very serious! I am falling!!!!!
I pray for you Patrick. Last year I lost my brother Patrick to alcoholism. I miss him every day. He was such a wonderful and loving man. I can tell you that your are important and loved and I pray that you will find this true before it is too late. God, of course, loves you but there are others as well. Please know this. I wish I could give you an easy fix, I don't think there is one. By your choosing to watch this video, you know the answer here is prayer. I will add mine to yours and we can get thru this with the Lord. My silly Dad use to say, when we would scrap our knees, "think about how good it will feel when it doesn't hurt anymore" at the time it made me mad😂 but he was right. Please be strong in the Lord and know he is the answer. You are loved. Suzi
I don't know where you live, but you should be able to find an AA meeting near you. Just google it.I have 3 years sober because of AA. I will be praying that you are able to get support in getting sober.
Thank you for being open about this. We should never stop relying on the Lord. I hope and pray you are successful and triumph over this. I hope that you will take actionable steps that aid you by cutting out the possibility of the near occasion of sin and, most importantly, give you habits that fill you with love of others and authentic self-love. I think we can only shake addiction if we find our true selves and we find ourselves in an authentic gift of self. Please pray for me as I face my own addiction. I hope this problem can be uprooted from your life and that it is replaced with God's peace, which is unfathomably deep. You lose nothing by walking away from this vice. God loves you. Praying for you!
It is so true! I started to say out loud in the mirror: I am doing (name of the sin). I took me quite a time (it did not happen overnight) till it sunk in and then I started to able to talk about it and then make changes. Father, thank you for reminding me to kepp on going on this way! God bless you!
A helpful practice... As you're struggling and suffering while changing your habitual sin, avoiding temptation, or doing penance, OFFER UP your struggle for the conversion or other benefit of someone else (a specific person or group), and/or ask God that through your struggle and pain, He will give 100 other people the grace to overcome the same [or another] sin/addiction. I heard this from a couple of people on UA-cam and thought it was helpful (one was Anthony Abbate from the "Avoiding Babylon" channel, can't remember who the other person was). Often we'll do things for others who are struggling, more easily than just for ourselves. And it helps to envision a "tangible" benefactor.
Everyday is a struggle for me. EVERYDAY is a spiritual battle. But I always hold on to the Lord Jesus n I also ask 4 Mama Mary’s prayers n intercession. Thank you 4 this video Fr. Mark! God bless u n the Ascension team.

This was heaven sent to me. I already have an appointment to meet with my priest tomorrow. Thank you so much for your video exactly when I needed to see it and hear it.
I have, through a lot of prayer, accepted the fact that God answers prayers in his timing, not mine. It has taken me a long time, but I accept His will for my life, even if it is not my will.
I can only talk from my own experience but working out. Has done wonders for me not only for my physical health but for my spiritual health as well. It doesn’t even have to be a whole work out regiment. Just go get on the treadmill or go for a long walk.
I keep going back to overeating, eating fast, and spending too much $ on food. I weigh just over 300 pounds again. I was 260 in August! Thank you for this💕
People keep telling me that I need to think more positive because I can be depressing but it’s become difficult for me to change how I think after all I’ve lived through which includes loss, missed opportunities, and regrets over the past. And I’ve adopted an all for nothing attitude and suffering from OCD and existential crisis. My Abuela keeps telling me to put in the work to think positive because that’ll help me but it’s hard and I don’t know where to start
Begin by doing an examination of conscience (can be found online, many use the Bulldog Catholic), go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation (recommend talking to a priest directly and making an appointment, so that you don't feel rushed), attend Mass to receive Jesus in the Eucharist, and then sit in Adoration with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Take baby steps if you need to! There is no shame in it. I need to do this too! Prayers 🙏🏻!
Hello. I do agree with your Abuela, but I also understand that you probably don't want to 'manufacture' positivity. It should come organically. I can imagine it is hard, especially given the current state of our world. But for that, I'd try to see the good that God can bring out of any situation, because He truly does! For example, a loved one who contracts a severe illness may bring the family closer together as a result to care for her, and closer to God. But I would go ask Jesus directly in Adoration! Sit in His Presence, converse, and ask Him where to start. Lay everything before Him in surrender and allow His Peace to nourish you. He loves to hear from us, especially in these moments. For some prayer suggestions, you could meditate on the joyful mysteries of the rosary, pray the Litany of Trust, Divine Mercy, surrender novena, and Psalm 77 is a great comfort to me when I'm struggling...But, in the end, whatever the Holy Spirit guides you to do will be good. Suffering, when offered up in unity with the Cross, is an extremely powerful act. I will keep you in my prayers! :)

Confession and Adoration; Confession is running into the Sacred Heart of Jesus which was pierced for you, so that you may approach with sorrow, repentance, and love. Jesus will receive you with His unending love and mercy. Confession is an exorcism, an embrace, a place of intimacy where God meets His beloved child, and it is love, for He reunites you with Himself and you may have Communion in receiving Him in the Eucharist.. The enemy doesn't want us to go, and it can be 'intimidating'. But it takes such humility to approach God in this way. The devil has no humility, so with any humble act, he can't stand it. God will give you such strength and grace to conquer this enemy you battle. So seek the mercy of God in Jesus in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Ask the priest for council and God will speak to you through him. Look at what Jesus says about Confession in the Diary of St. Faustina...for example: "Make your confession before Me. The person of the priest is, for Me, only a screen. Never analyze what sort of a priest it is that I am making use of; open your soul in confession as you would to Me, and I will fill it with My light" (1725). "If their trust is great, there is no limit to My generosity. The torrents of grace inundate humble souls." (1602). "Child, do not run away from your Father; be willing to talk openly with your God of mercy who wants to speak words of pardon and lavish his graces on you. How dear your soul is to Me!" (1485). “Be not afraid of your Savior, O sinful soul...The greater the sinner, the greater the right he has to my mercy.” (Diary 723) Likewise, Jesus says, "Behold, for you I have established a throne of mercy on earth-the tabernacle-and from this throne I desire to enter into your heart. I am not surrounded by a retinue or guards. You can come to me at any moment, at any time; I want to speak to you and desire to grant you grace." (1485) Consider this in Adoration. I will pray so deeply and sincerely for you. I will ask Our Lady to pray for you too.
I urge you to go to Confession, for it is to run into the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is an exorcism, an embrace, a place of intimacy for God to meet His beloved child (you!!!), and with His forgiveness, you can have Communion with Him in receiving the Eucharist! Consider what Jesus says about Confession in St. Faustina's diary: "Be not afraid of your Savior, O sinful soul. I make the first move to come to you, for I know that by yourself you are unable to lift yourself to me. Child, do not run away from your Father; be willing to talk openly with your God of mercy who wants to speak words of pardon and lavish his graces on you. How dear your soul is to Me!" (Diary 1485) It takes great humility to approach God in this way. The devil cannot stand any humble act, so he doesn't want us to go and it can seem very intimidating. But God will grant you such strength and grace to conquer this enemy that you battle with. When you approach with sorrow, repentance, and love, our Glorious, Merciful, and Loving God will make you white as snow. I will pray so deeply and sincerely for you, and I will ask Our Lady to pray for you as well.
