Well, that was a neat comparison between the 2 splitters. Just ahows the changes that have been made over the years.. Happy Easter to you guys and the rest of the woodHounds community 😉👍
That’s a fancy new splitter you have there Dan! Great job on the cycle time comparison. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter Weekend. Take care!
Absolute powerhouse seems to be close to twice as fast from what I could see one knows when they are gaining in production time one clear sign is that muscle memory and finding something to do with their hands
What a Machine my Friend. Much Bigger Ram than your other one and much more Heavy Duty. Should fill the Bill for your Woodyard. Tomorrow is my Big Day of 1hour of Work. We are expecting a Sizeable Snowstorm Tuesday thru Thursday. More Snow now than all Winter. To YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, AMANDA, LITTLE BOSS MAN AND YOU A VERY HAPPY EASTER. Stay Safe out there my Friend. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
Auto split will be the death of all Hobbist lever puller positions! No more sore shoulders or having to walk around with 1 shoulder much bigger than the other from pulling levers! Congrats and I look forward to seeing you in your new position as log lift loader!🤠 I believe WolfeRidge make some stops that can be installed to prevent complete ram return and have shorter strokes!👍
Ohh no....the levers still need to be pulled/pushed. Plenty of sore shoulders still to come, however the good thing is the Eastonmade I run from the other side so I'll be able to balance out and work the right arm one day and the left a few days later. 🤣👍💪
HAPPY EASTER SHIF ( D )... I LIKE THE NEW @WOLFERIDGEMFG 28C LOG SPLITTER... SHE REALLY HAS SOME NICE CURVES... LOOKIN' FORWARD TO SEEIN' HER DEVOUR WHOLE ROUNDS. THAT PRE-PROCESSED STUFF WAS TOO EASY... SEE YOU ON THE NEXT ONE. STAY COOL, PEACE... SAY HAY TO THE FOLKS AND WISH THEM A HAPPY EASTER AS WELL...
The retract speed on the new 28C with the auto cycle really shows the speed difference between the 2 machines. Having the auto cycle is like have an extra person helping to feed the machine.
You might consider the limiter plates, especially with that auto cycle. The retract will stop at 16 or 18 depending which way you lay them in. We love the 28c. Game changer. 👍🏼👊🏼🤙🏼
Like how it completely splits the wood. Never understood why on any log splitting you have to use another piece of wood to complete the full split ? Felt to me that they weren't getting the ram and splitter close enough together.
There's still about a 2" gap on this one, but the type of wood matters too....Oak will split nice like this but some other stuff may need another piece to push it through and complete the split. I think there's some safety concern with the ram not going all the way to the wedge.
The side by side. 12 seconds for the old one. 7 seconds for the new one. . Are they still using 3/4" for the cylinder ports. Looks like uping it to 1" from the tee to the cylinder would help flow?
After watching several channels run different manufacturers the one thing I see that each one is missing a stoping system that would stop auto cycle at different lengths like 14 ,18, and 20 inches so the push plate stops there. Heck maybe drill a few holes and drop bolts in that can be removed for full reaction to store
I agree. They (Wolfe Ridge and Easton Made) can put the variable split lengths on their vertical splitters yet don't seem to do it on their horizontals. Wouldn't seem to be that difficult!
It looks like about a fifty percent increase in speed counting a complete cycle. Did you miss the carport with that bark? I think you were daring me to ask. Bill
Nice…WR is a great unit! Sr Woodhound is gonna love this unit…for a sr speed isn’t always the best, we’re looking for endurance to feed and off load😀👨🏻🦳.
I can't help thinking - there's a lot of Eastonmade Ultra in this new unit. Wider ram, bigger push plate, fast auto return... I guess, this is another good example of 'convergent engineering' 😁👍🪓🇦🇺
Ear pro...I have the great luxury of an expense account at work, and no one ever questions it when you buy 'safety equipment'...😂... there are a few 'nearly empty' tubs of those plugs that have made it to my shed...😁👍🪓🇦🇺
Love the splitter, thanks for the video bud I appreciate it
Nice looking splitter! Happy Easter Dan
Very nice. The new standard upgrades were well thought out.
Well, that was a neat comparison between the 2 splitters. Just ahows the changes that have been made over the years..
Happy Easter to you guys and the rest of the woodHounds community 😉👍
Dan,can hardly wait for you using a four way on the new Wolfe ridge 😮😊❤
Happy Easter! HE is risen!
Awesome splitter!!
And that machine isn't too bad either! 😆
Loved the overhead side by side comparison. Good video 👍
Same here, that was some quality editing
Man, that thing is nice. Quite a bit faster than the old model. Can't wait to see that thing eat through some big rounds 👍
Happy Easter Dan, Black Beauty Wolf Ridge gets it done🤘🏻🪵🇺🇸
Thanks....hope you guys had a Happy Easter!
That’s a fancy new splitter you have there Dan! Great job on the cycle time comparison. Hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter Weekend. Take care!
Good Easter morning . It’s a beautiful day here in NC .
Hi Dan Happy Easter WOW that Wolf Ridge 28 C is a Beast 👍
Absolute powerhouse seems to be close to twice as fast from what I could see one knows when they are gaining in production time one clear sign is that muscle memory and finding something to do with their hands
Really noticeable speed difference when you run them split screen like that! Continuous improvement! Love to see that.
Ohhh yeah. That overhead comparison view was awesome! Happy Easter Dan!
Thanks! The return stroke really makes up the time, but going out is faster as well. Hope ya had a Happy Easter.

Thanks Ron...hope you had a great day and a Happy Easter, enjoy the time tomorrow in the woodyard!

Yeah, we don't need a Quagmire (family guy reference) walking around with the 1 larger arm 😂
Happy Easter to you and your family Wayne 😉👍
You can keep your 'shorter strokes', mate...I prefer mine nice and long...😏...😂...👍🇦🇺
Ohh no....the levers still need to be pulled/pushed. Plenty of sore shoulders still to come, however the good thing is the Eastonmade I run from the other side so I'll be able to balance out and work the right arm one day and the left a few days later. 🤣👍💪
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pretty sweet splitter Shifty! I like it👍💪💪👍
hi there good show . i think you need to split an easter egg on it today , Happy Easter and best to all john
Happy Easter! Just got back from the farm, no splitting today.
Nice comparison. Happy 🐣 Easter. Peace
Look at that cylinder compared to the older model, and the speed is sick.
HAPPY EASTER SHIF ( D )... I LIKE THE NEW @WOLFERIDGEMFG 28C LOG SPLITTER... SHE REALLY HAS SOME NICE CURVES... LOOKIN' FORWARD TO SEEIN' HER DEVOUR WHOLE ROUNDS. Happy Easter G Pines! Just got back from the farm...Senior had some more Cherry to bring back. 😀 Hope you had a great day down there!
Now the real fun begins with the 28c. Hope you and the family had a Happy Easter!!🐰
The retract speed on the new 28C with the auto cycle really shows the speed difference between the 2 machines. Having the auto cycle is like have an extra person helping to feed the machine.
Yep that's where the increased time happens...some on the push out, but the pull back really shortens cycle time.
nice video Dan, Happy Easter
About 4 seconds faster. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻🐰🐰
You might consider the limiter plates, especially with that auto cycle. The retract will stop at 16 or 18 depending which way you lay them in.
We love the 28c. Game changer.
👍🏼👊🏼🤙🏼
Happy Easter! Have a great day Dan!
Awesome machine nice little break in for it now it’s time to see the beast eat big gnarly rounds
It willl be awesome you will like it. We have just like it. Happy splitting
3 splitters and a processor! Gotta love toys...er ah iI mean tools!
Like how it completely splits the wood. Never understood why on any log splitting you have to use another piece of wood to complete the full split ? Felt to me that they weren't getting the ram and splitter close enough together.

I was noticing the difference in the size of the push rod and the new machine has two oil lines for the return , that makes it fast.
Cool video
That splitter is Chuck Norris approved
The side by side.
12 seconds for the old one.
7 seconds for the new one.
.
Are they still using 3/4" for the cylinder ports. Looks like uping it to 1" from the tee to the cylinder would help flow?
Nice looking unit Dan! Happy Easter! How do you like that small trailer you have in the background?
Thanks...that little trailer is very handy....love it. Hope ya had a Happy Easter.
I wonder if you can adjust the auto reset distance. I bet your dad will like his new splitter.
After watching several channels run different manufacturers the one thing I see that each one is missing a stoping system that would stop auto cycle at different lengths like 14 ,18, and 20 inches so the push plate stops there. Only thing I'd like to see inproved is forward cycle as fast as the return cycle
Do a video comparing this with the Eastonmade.
Thanks for sharing! Did you consider the 28HO?
That machine was given to him by Wolfe Ridge. I'm sure it came out of their advertising budget!
Good to know! Thanks!!
It looks like about a fifty percent increase in speed counting a complete cycle. Did you miss the carport with that bark? I think you were daring me to ask.
Bill
Ha...yep I was actually completely outside the carport so no chance of bark hitting it. 😀
Like an old friend…
I would never get anything done in your position. I would struggle everytime on what machine to use🤔🤔🤣B🆒
The piston on the new machine looks twice the size of the old machine
The new machine is obviously faster. You probably should just give me your old piece of junk.
An oil cooler? You're merely a hobbyist!! 🤷
Nice…WR is a great unit! Sr Woodhound is gonna love this unit…for a sr speed isn’t always the best, we’re looking for endurance to feed and off load😀👨🏻🦳.
I agree...too much attention is focused on speed nowadays. Far more things to consider and that are important for a log splitter.
I can't help thinking - there's a lot of Eastonmade Ultra in this new unit. Wider ram, bigger push plate, fast auto return... I guess, this is another good example of 'convergent engineering' 😁👍🪓🇦🇺
