  • Audio is The Who - Leeds 1970 [2014 Mix]
    Video is IOW 1970
The Who performed two University dates for the purpose of recording a live album, having lost the patience to sort through the tapes recorded on the North American 1969 tour. The first gig, at the University of Leeds Cafeteria, in front of an audience of 2,000, showcased The Who’s live act at its finest. The original album featured only six songs, half of which were covers, and it would take years until most fans would hear the entire concert in it's full excellence.
Thank you to Monty's Vault for helping me find a good copy of this footage. He has a fantastic channel that you should check out ‪@MontysVault‬
I apologize for the lack of variety in footage and a few out-of-sync shots. I hope something new releases eventually so fans will be able to see some new incredible peak Who footage and to make this an easier and better looking sync.

This looks like Isle of Wight concert footage passed off as Live at Leeds footage. There is no video from the Live at Leeds show. Why do so many content makers mix them up?

I was not intending to pass this off as Leeds footage. If you read the description and watch the other videos on my channel, you’d understand that I’m just a fan syncing the audio of my favorite live performance with any available/syncable footage. It’s common fan knowledge that only a black and white 4 minute reel has been released of Leeds footage. Trust me, this whole project was made with love, by a fan, for the fans.

@@BobbysArchive Thanks for clarifying. I'll be honest. Non fans would think it's the Leeds show, just by reading the title. They don't bother to search. Isle of Wight was a phenomenal show and should stand on its own merits. But I appreciate the content makers that keep the spirit of The Who alive.

@@whofan1967 I can see where you’re coming from, however I think the original video sources I used are much more popular than my own videos will ever be and I personally think it’s clear that they’re synced. With this specific video it might be a little harder for non-fans to tell because Substitute is one of the only songs that only has 1 source of footage from this era, but in the other videos I used a good amount of other video sources and the sync is much more visible. I love all the performances, but Leeds the audio is one of the best live recordings of all time in my opinion, and I hope this project will enhance the experience for people.
