Yeah the dealerships takes their time that's why and they also go by what the computer says. I did it around 4-5 hours, as long as you have everything it shouldn't take to long. Thanks for watching...
Yeah they do have loctite you can put it in neutral and move it to a good angle where you can put the ratchet and then put it on park and loosen it. But nun of them broke on me if they did on you, you can get it out but it will be a pain to do soo
@@2009princeofswagg if you can grab it with some pliers or vise grips and and try to unscrew the rest of the way and get your another bolt to replace it
The one shown in the video is the fuel pump. The sending unit looks quite different. I do recommend replacing both if you are planning on doing this job.
One is a fuel pump the other is the sending unit but I do recommend replacing both, the only reason is because the tank will be out already. If you don't its find as well but if it ever goes out you will have to do the same process again.
Can't remember the part number sorry, but I do recommend changing the fuel pump & the sanding unit at the same time. Reason why because if the sending unit goes out after, you will be doing double work, that's what happen to this customer couple months after I replace the fuel pump.
Yeah I had the same issue, the customer only wanted to replace the fuel pump then the sending unit gave out. I always recommend replacing both and also the sensor that goes on top of the tank, just so you won't have any issues and so you won't do the job 2 times.... The other thing with the Durangos the relay for the fuel pump has a recall. If you never took it to the dealer for that it might give you a problem in the future.
Didn't have pressure but if you going to do the job I recommend changing both pumps. You can also have a bad relay these model truck have a recall and they install a relay so double check the relay first.
Una es la pompa la otra no estoy muy seguro como se diga en español pero si vas a cambiar la pompa te recomindo que cambien las dos de una ves. Nomas lo digo porque si se daña la otra vas a pagar por el trabajo dos veses.
Much appreciated Bro .
I took my fuel pump off my 2015 durango recently mechanic wanted to charge me 800$ I did it my self for free thank you Man.
Damn.... I'm glad I could help and save you a lot of money.
This was helpful. The dealership told me it was a 10hr job

Hey how did you break the rear bolts on the drive shaft? Do they have locktite on them? These are harder to remove than the front ones.
Yeah they do have loctite you can put it in neutral and move it to a good angle where you can put the ratchet and then put it on park and loosen it. But nun of them broke on me if they did on you, you can get it out but it will be a pain to do soo
@J's Customs my last bolt head got stripped half way out. Any suggestions on getting it out ?

Hey bro wat did u torque ur drive shaft back to ?
Unfortunately I can't remember the exact torque specs, if you look online it should be able to tell you the exact torque specs
Are both the fuel pumps the same style
The one shown in the video is the fuel pump. The sending unit looks quite different. I do recommend replacing both if you are planning on doing this job.
Did you put new green sealant on the shaft bolts or is it not needed
If you have some it will be best if you do. If not as long as you torque them
Is the primary pump on the driver side or the passenger side? I think I’m going to cut my floor board. I have a 2013 rt.
I believe is the one on the driver side
@@HTXSuspensions thanks G
So the secondary pump is not the one to change first
this is kind of hard to understand, can you please tell me what tolls i will need. I have a 2012 durango as well just ran into this problem.
Sorry I can't remember you just have to pause the video when I show the tools. Unfortunately it's been a while since I did this job.
Hey what fuel pump you use? I have a 2012 dodge durango citadel
One is a fuel pump the other is the sending unit but I do recommend replacing both, the only reason is because the tank will be out already. If you don't its find as well but if it ever goes out you will have to do the same process again.
Can u share the part number of the fuel pump and how many are install in the 3.6 model one ?
Thanks 😊

@J's Customs me again how do you know if it's the sending unit ? And did u change the fuel pressure senor or where it's located ?
Did you have 2 fuel pump?
Will this work for all 2012 Durango
Yes
Replaced the fuel pump but now I'm having problems with a fuel level sensor
Yeah I had the same issue, the customer only wanted to replace the fuel pump then the sending unit gave out. I always recommend replacing both and also the sensor that goes on top of the tank, just so you won't have any issues and so you won't do the job 2 times....

F that cut a hole in the floor make a patch panel it’s under the seat no one will know
Yeah you can do that but you have to know the exact location and you have to be really careful.
Exactly
Which side is the fuel pump on driver or passenger
I might be wrong but I belive on the driver side

What symptoms were you having that you knew you needed to change it?
