its just a mess now, its as bad as DC was, they need to draw a line and say this saga has ended and reboot with a whole new sage starting with the fantastic 4 completely ignoring everything that happened in the old saga, possibly in an alternate reality. Then build up from there.

Secret Invasion should have never been planned in the first place. The comics relied heavily on "what superhero is a Skrull?" But entries in the MCU are all in their own swim lane, so you can't make any of the heroes a villainous Skrull without ruining previous storytelling. Imagine if they said Iron Man was a Skrull this whole time. They also don't have the budget to pull it off.
@@matthewk4912 Secret Invasion should have been the slow reveal of Nick Fury learning what we learned in STINGERS throughout all of Phase 4 ... that heroes we just got done watching were actually Skrulls. Obviously they didn't do that, so the next path path forward would have been for each episode to end with the reveal of someone we cared about being a Skrull, so we're a step ahead of Fury and watching the paranoia that set in. Secret Invasion's biggest failing was that there was a grand total of ONE character that was revealed to have been a Skrull that we actually cared about (Rhodey) but that was such an obvious move that literally everyone saw it coming. They killed off Maria Hill on this show, not because she was a Skrull, mind you, but as part of a plot against Fury. It would have made so much more sense if actual Fury had killed her because he was paranoid and had been convinced she was replaced, only to be wrong ... ratcheting up the paranoia even further. The second biggest failing is having such pivotal, important conversations between characters not actually happening between those characters at all, but a Skrull replacement. Completely robs them of any of the drama those conversations should have had.
When you say “who asked for this?”, you nailed it. Nobody asked for Echo. Nobody asked for Iron Heart. They seem to make things that there are no demands for and botch what people do demand.
Just like Agatha spending all this money on releasing some bullshit no one asked for. They are also talking bout making a scarlet witch movie that no one fucking asked for either.
@@NYCOWNS I use to consume almost anything Marvel put out because they had more hits than misses. Their record is tarnished and now I only watch something if I hear it is good. I can’t be the only one and that can’t be good.
They need to stop hiring directors who truly don’t care about the content. How many directors lately have said “I never really liked comics or never read a comic book in my life”. If you don’t care about the content personally it will show in the final product.
Tony Gilroy doesn’t care about Star Wars but he made one of the best SW things ever. You don’t need a director who is a fanboy or even that into the property. You just need a talented one who most importantly will respect the source material and honor the essence of it.
I generally think a film about Rhode dealing with Tonys death and the things he left behind would be a phenomenal film. Rhodey has been here since day 1, now obviously that isn't a reason to get a whole film but not only do I believe it would be a solid film about grief and responsibility but could set up the avengers which is what is desperately needed
Highly disagree with wanting a bunch of Avengers movies. You have to earn those Avengers movies. You can't have successful Avengers movies with unpopular heroes. You need to make good and popular solo movies in order to earn those Avengers ones. This was the problem of the DCEU with rushing the Justice League
I don’t know about using the word “earned” and the problem with the Justice League movie was a million different things including switching directors who had opposite visions of what the film should look like. There is absolutely no reason they can’t make an Avengers movie with Sam Wilson, Bucky, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Shuri, Hulk, Hawkeye, Antman, Capt Marvel and Thor. There are more than enough people and they all have had or are about to have recent movies coming out.
You're absolutely correct. You can earn those Avengers movies by continuing the development of old heroes and/or introducing new characters. The problem with the current MCU is that they continue the stories of old heroes but they can't seem to find anything fresh and still worth exploring in them (Thor, Ant-Man). And they do introduce new characters but it's too many of them and they aren't interesting. Instead of making every project feel like a single block in building a larger structure, it feels like throwing random shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. In Phase 1 you met a few heroes, got to know them in their solo movies, but there was always SHIELD at the background trying to make those heroes a team. Once you had the core group, you could expand on the worldbuilding, develop the characters more and introduce new heroes. Now we get new character after new character, and yet another new character, and a bunch of other new characters, none of whom seem to be going anywhere. We can't get attached to any of them because there's no time for developing them in sequels or team movies. Instead, we are introduced to yet another new character who we don't care about.
That description fits a surprisingly large amount of phase 4 lol. Between phase 4 and the lackluster Mando 3&Ahsoka (and terrible Boba Fett), I ended up unsubbing from Disney+ D: Would be nice if they started making good by those franchises again at some point (in Andor 2 we trust lol).
I have a friend who worked on Echo. He said the initial cut was probably the worst thing he'd ever been part of. He was actually relieved that the version they released cut a lot of his work out.
Echo doesn’t deserve the hate it receives, but the whole storyline reminds me when I’m doing well on an essay, hold it with confidence to do later last minute, and end up rushing the whole ending and sounding off after at 12:61am.
It wasn’t terrible but it also wasn’t very good. C(+\-) at best. Average for what is expected the old whole show felt like it was just a set up for Fisks run for mayor.
True that Feige's attention was divided, but another thing I think was important was the reception of The Eternals. Feige seems to truly loves that film I think the critical and fan response really shook his confidence.
@@aouyiuthe problem was/is people like Kennedy taking over and spreading through Disney like a plague. Iger is no better, he’s just pretending to care after years of being part of that plague and shifting a little blame to his replacement because he’s on the verge of being replaced after the board vote
Quantity can impact quality when you start talking about post-production. Secret Invasion clearly had issues with editing and VFX, not just story. (VFX burnout is an industry wide issue, not just in who Disney uses) But one of the key things... Marvel didn't have showrunners, apparently. Which is INSANE. It is literally insane to not have someone who knows how to wrangle a writers' room. Who knows how to manage last minute changes on set, or can tell if something isn't working in a line delivery and can work with a writer to alter the scene. Showrunning is a skill.
Don cheadle is probably feeling pissed off at how armor wars is no longer happening all that setup for nothing. It took decades for him to get his own movies ,and now its dead.
the funny thing is Bob Iger launched Disney+ and wanted lots of content, Bob Chapek just went all in no Disney+, and now Bob Iger is like "woah guys! Let's reel it in!"
Exactly. Bob Chapek made a lot of stupid decisions. There's no argument. But he came from the parks side of things so when he took over he probably just kept going in the direction he thought Iger would. Bob Iger has the benefit of hindsight. Nobody can say he wouldn't have tried something similar. It's not even like Iger is doing anything that most of us plebs haven't been politely suggesting for awhile now. Cut back. Make each project special. Don't spend as much. Put movies into theatres. This all feels like common sense yet when Bob Iger says it anyone who follows entertainment news acts like he's a genius.
@@uosdwiSrdewoH A lot of Parks fans think Chapek was just brought in to implement a lot of what Disney knew would be incredibly unpopular decisions that Iger had made. That's why even with Iger returning, he has not moved to undo a lot of those decisions ... because they were his in the first place. This is part of why Iger's second run as CEO is off to such a rough start, he can't simply reverse course, but has to live with the current landscape and it's a much different task.
Iger is only saying that because almost everything Breyer done the last few years has been hated, a money pit, and marvel has become the way not to do it.
"There's too many characters" is a ludicrous thing to say if you want Secret Wars. When people started talking about Secret Wars the first thing I said was "they need to introduce a ton of new characters." A big crossover movie with the same basic characters we already had in Endgame makes no sense. You need Fantastic Four, you need She Hulk, you need Moon Knight, Daredevil, the various Young Avengers. You need MORE.
Ironheart and Armor wars are the only ones I know of and I loved Iron Heart in Wakanda Forever so I wanna see her get her own show or movie still and war machine get his own movie
Iron heart, Miss Marvel, Captain Marvel, America Chavez, these and more are characters that failed in the comics. But nobody liked that kept getting canceled.. why are they trying to push them into the MCU? And did they expect they would be differently?
The destruction of a society requires its heroes, both historical and fictional, to be mocked and subverted. People can continue to wonder why this madness continues, or they can wake up to our culture being destroyed by a 1000 cuts.
It's because X-Men was the most popular comic and it flopped. But ironman being more obscure comic did well. So the thought was that chances is that would continue to work. And the crazy part is it did for a while.
I really hope that the Armor Wars film isn't cancelled because Rhodey really needs that story especially after the horrible character botch of Secret Invasion. Sam Rockwell was on Jimmy Fallon recently and said that he's ready to return as Justin Hammer if Marvel gives him a call. Personally, I think the Armor Wars should have three antagonists. Justin Hammer is the obvious choice as his line in Iron Man 2 perfectly explains his motivations "You don't just go and kill the guy; you go after his legacy that's what you kill." The second antagonist would be the MCU debut of Arno Stark who would dethrone Pepper as the true heir to Stark Industries and the third antagonist would be the introduction of MCU Norman Osborn. Norman would only work at Stark Industires as a weapons consultant so he could have enough money to start Oscorp.
Cause having 3 villains in a movie always goes well. I would be surprised if an Armor Wars movie even makes its money back. Definitely don’t see a need for a Rhodey movie. I don’t know who’s out here checking for him really.
I really believe with the steering back to main title characters, that's one that will for sure stay. Imo it's going to be retitled "Iron Man: Armor Wars"
@michaelharris7157 plenty of good superhero movies have 3 or more villains. Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Spiderman Homecoming, Captain America Winter Soldier, Spiderman No Way Home, Shang Chi, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers Age of Ultron, Avengers Infinity War and Endgame
Great vid guys! Really liked this format. Feeling like I’m sitting in the room with y’all figuring out what you regular shows are gunna be. It’s fun watching you guys nerd out- shows that you guys have chemistry and really know your shit. Please keep doing these!
In the past 4 years, Disney has spammed more Marvel content than all of phase 1 and 3 combined. And the majority was not good this creating fatigue and apathy
They are only “taking it seriously” because there’s a board vote coming so they have to pretend to care. If the current board wins Iger will instantly go back on all this
yeah like he was hoping for special presentations but like NO the whole point is to reduce these projects, Ironheart is no needed, we already have "Tony's succesor" and Vision last project, Wandavision, was the perfect ending, we dont need more Vision
Once Marvel communicated that there wasn't going to be continuity through the projects, people took that as a hint that we no longer have to watch every thing coming out. We have so many loose threads and retcons at this point, I don't blame anyone for being confused or being completely checked out.
I dunno what you were watching but Marvel has never communicated this unless you are talking about the Marvel Spotlight thing which is a gimmick because they have plans to connect that all too.
Not everything has to have overlap. Life doesnt work that way and beither do the comics. These characters should be focused on for their show. Then later ring them into a film. But they do not anything other than a nod to another characters existence.
You CAN'T have an Avengers film replacing too many originals! Like on a basketball team, you can change 1 or 2, but must keep the backbone to keep the identity. We lost Iron Man, Capt America and the Black Widow; and also Black Panther, Hawkeye, Vision, Wanda... are we gonna have an Avengers team with Hulk, Thor, Bucky, Falcon, Antman, Dr Strange and Peter Quill? Do they even dare? 😅
Ironheart and anything young avengers should be cancelled. Secret Invasion should've been a movie that rivaled winter solider (hell that movie was a better secret invasion) Then the conflict with the skrulls leads into Armor Wars as a pseudo sequel now that Warmachine is free he could hold a grudge against the skrulls. The Marvels could have been about captain marvel being a liaison for the skrulls tryna get them off earth and way from war etc, but no we just have a bunch of unrelated titles involving the same characters.
One of Marvel's major problems at the moment is, it's taking too long from first introducing new characters until the finally end up in the next project. Most people already forgot about the post credit scenes from the eternals. See Shang Chi, suprisingly great movie, but it's years ago now.
Pretty dumb how after years of low quality projects, they only listen to the $ not turning out well and not the community feedback. I’m just happy they are finally trying to get better vs. keep releasing junk
@@Byronic19134 very true, but going off that statement would imply that they must’ve thought these projects would have done well until they didn’t…even though they purposefully sacrificed quality for quantity at a mass scale. Money should be transparent ahead of time for doing something like that, it was only a matter of time before it caught up
Within reason it's the same with the gaming industry at the moment as well, they would rather create investment vehicles (live services games) then a one & done product that everybody prefers but they still keep on making those games so in the end they lay off employees because of the publishers mistakes for their shareholders.

I wish they would do what they did with Werewolf by Night for all their Midnight Sons characters. Just give us a Halloween special every year to introduce them. It's quick, fun, and cheap.
@@missAlice1990 that's fine. It would just be an easy reference for casuals who see a character in a movie and want to know more about them instead of 6-12 hours of required viewing
When they announced Agatha, Me and literally EVERYONE I know that follows the MCU was like “Why????” Who cares about her character enough to see a full series?! 🙄
They can't cancel Moon Knight. I've seen this kind of thing with rumours that they're cancelling She Hulk. Everything made before the strikes follows old MCU rules where things are made on the fly, smoothed out in the edit and it's more like a movie split into however many parts that's more or less made for the moment with no consideration for future seasons. The only exception is Loki which was always intended to be two seasons. Unlike regular TV where actors are usually signed for six seasons these MCU shows are made one season at a time. It can't be cancelled because it's not an ongoing thing. In a way 'Secret Invasion' is kind of like 'Batman and Robin'. If 'Batman and Robin' hadn't been so awful there wouldn't have been the Dark Knight trilogy. Given what went down with 'Secret Invasion' Marvel is going to start making TV more like the way it's been done successfully for decades. Showrunners. Breaking down what happens before cameras roll. Hopefully planning multiple seasons is also something they start doing. It's bizarre that you can almost look at the movie side of things as more like TV with actors signing for multiple movies and story arcs being planned out over years while TV is made more like movies where they're made one at a time and when they make the next one they have to make new contracts and often it's a different director or writer. They tried to make TV their own way but have finally realised it's done a certain way for a reason. Hopefully the next batch of shows that go into production will reflect that and the quality will be more consistent.
This channel is the only entertainment channel out there that shares the same knowledge and opinions that align with our views of Marvel. Love your stuff! Seriously!
I'd say a good rule to go by is that if there's been no marketing beyond a title, then the project is on loose soil. Anything that shows actually footage is far more likely to be released than not. So yeah, _Agatha_ is kinda likely, but there's a decent chance _Ironheart_ might not happen.
Yes like they build his character were planning a whole avenger movie about him just cuz the actor who plays him is problematic doesn't mean you can't change it😭
Random thought, but isn't the deal that Ryan and Doug are trapped in the Not-Blockbuster Store? As in they are in some sort of alternate reality or something? So, the notion that Colton is trapped in a tiny TV and doesn't know it...maybe it's that Colton is Ryan's lifeline from the real world - he's logging in to interact with him, but he's actually in the real world and Ryan is the one trapped.
The IRS should create a rule that destroyed product has to be auctioned off to determine it's market value when taking the loss. Failure to do this disqualifies any tax write-off.
"This was a show from a time when they really needed to push Disney+." It's still that time. Without Marvel and Star Wars programming why the fuck am I susbscribed to Disney+?
For the Disney content. This is such a ridiculous comment even from day 1 of the app. Day 1 had plenty marvel & Star Wars but so much so much Disney as is. You can watch a week worth of Disney stuff before whatever show came after wandavision
Honestly I won't miss any of the shows/movies that you think might be canned. We got a plenty of new characters in the MCU post Endgame but neither of them made a real impact. I agree with Ryan with saying not every character needs whole movie or 6-9 episode Disney+ show. What we needed was some Avengers type of movie. Phase 4 was quite long and it felt really disconnected jumping from one corner of universe to another. Even movie that directly followed tv show (Doctor Strange 2) completely ignored Scarlet Witch development in Vandavision and practically made Doc Strange side character in his own movie. And don't get me start with whole multiverse where we got a world where green and red lights are swapped? They could choose any world and this is what they went with?
Not even gonna lie, brining back ultron could be the ticket that marvel needs to save the multiverse saga. They could bring him back in armor wars. Another way could be putting Dr doom as the main villain
I’m so tired of hearing the “ bring x villan to the mcu i promise it’ll save it “ NO IT WILL NOT the problem is not the characters it’s the writing to save marvel they simply need to write good characters bringing back ultron would only put him in the same issue of bad writing then it’ll be “ ultron actually sucks now bring doctor doom “ and so on n so forth
It's sustainable to have a multitude of characters and universes in graphic novels, but it's impractical to do this simultaneously on the screen. Maybe Marvel should consider dividing phases by exploring a _small_ group of characters/heroes for a brief time, and then move on to a next phase and introduce _different_ characters, not just different villains.
It's his anxieties, he has mentioned it several times before. Like a tick/quirk he has said sometimes he can manage it better but sometimes his anxieties get the better of him. It's slightly more noticeable whenever he is doing any interviews/interactions with others. When he is filming alone It's harder to catch. I like that he leaves it in the edit, makes him feel more human with actual issues that he has to work through.
Argeed, and he sucks as Rhodey. Terrance Howard did a way better job even if it was only for one film. I actually felt RDJ and Howard had great chemistry and felt like real friends. I get none of that from RDJ and Cheadle, because Cheadle feels like he's just filling in a spot and going through the motions.
The kid from Iron Man 3 should be the next Iron Man, he is perfectly placed for it. I pray Pepper gave him the arc reactor from the lake so he can go build a suit, and Tony made a plan for him to be given access to FRIDAY should the AI deem him worthy of taking the mantle
@@0mtrebellcyury993 If we should have a new Iron Man at all, it should be someone who will last Marvel for several movies. But Don Cheadle isn't getting any younger. It wouldn't be good if they made him the new Iron Man just for the Armor Wars movie and then had him retire because the actor would be too old in the following movies that would be made several years later. If they are looking for a new Iron Man, I would suggest someone in their late thirties or early forties, so that he can last them for the next 10 or so years. And I wrote "he" because I am not intererested in a female Iron Man. I may be a woman but that doesn't mean that I want my favorite comics leads to be replaced by women. Ironheart should stay Ironheart, not become Iron Man.
@@proximashining776I mean there’s stuntmen and don doesn’t need to be on set when war machine actually fights just when rhodey does stuff. I doubt RDJ was on set a lot when iron man had fight scenes
As far as screen rush is concerned, everything should be released cos he loved everything and he's ahead of the curve. Doesn't matter if most of these characters failed to resonate with audiences.
This might have been a great move and to put more focus on the characters we started to get use to from phase 4/5. Not with all these randoms that most don't know.
Bob Iger translation: “we gotta cut stuff because it’s effecting our billionaire bonuses.” Also, Ironheart should just be featured in movies and utilized kinda like how Hawkeye and Black Widow were utilized in the first few phases. Then, once folks start to warm to her, you can give her a solo movie. Marvel has to stop giving us characters w/out proper build. I personally think they should get away from live action MCU shows period…they just aren’t that great as a whole. So, yes, animation should be the way to go on that front.
MoonKnight season one was meant to set up “Midnight Sons” but a lot of the scenes had to be edited out because the actor Gaspard who played Anton in MoonKnight and was going to be lead character in Midnight Sons passed away just before MoonKnight was released. A lot of his scenes had to be taken out and that’s why it’s left when we last saw his character that MoonKnight k!l1ed him after throwing one of his 🌙 at him while he was on the horse which rode off with Anton. If Gaspard hadn’t passed away when he did he would have gotten his own show as Anton as the main character recruiting others who would then be called “The Midnight Sons” Kevin has said that he’s not going to recast that character out of respect for Gaspard. But I hope one day they release all the scenes that was taken out of the last three episodes of MoonKnight that had Anton’s character showing how he was creating TMS. I’ve always been a huge fan of Gaspard’s and he would have been an amazing addition and credit to Marvel and the MCU. That man had so much talent it’s crazy! So I don’t think we will get Midnight Sons now because of what happened, we was going to and as I said MK was going to set that show up via Anton. With Kevin saying he isn’t going to recast the character so I can’t see it happening any time soon!
By the time Young Avengers comes out actually they will be the same ages as the original Avengers cast in 2012 excluding Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr🤣
Personally, I would like Netflix-style series that are year long weekly releases. That way character development can be better and storylines are better constructed.
I'm glad Marvel's been diving into animation lately. Ngl, I would *love* to see Marvel create a fully connected animated universe using all their characters in the future (akin to X-Men: Evolution, Wolverine & the X-Men, Justice League Unlimited, the DCAMU, Young Justice, the Tomorrowverse, etc). I love the live action MCU, but there are *so* many things that are better/ much easier in animation, i.e.: - easier & cheaper to cast characters - probably significantly easier & cheaper to animate things than to deal with stunts, sets and CGI - can have frequent crossovers & team-ups - better child characters - can have more violent stories for darker characters, or weird stories for quirky characters - easier to get away with comic book costumes, acrobatic stunts & surviving insane injuries - easier to make human characters like Black Widow & Hawkeye look more powerful (like Batman) - easier to use animals (i.e. Rocket, Reptil, Squirrel Girl, Lockhead, Redwing, etc), aliens & supernatural creatures - easier to explore different planets, realms & dimensions - easier to show off dark scenes (it drives me crazy how dark & moody live action DC is, but it looks great in animation), etc. Plus, I feel like it could also help satisfy ppl's desires for a soft reboot tbh, i.e. we could see: - World Breaker Hulk - Hulk vs Wolverine - Avengers vs X-Men - T'Challa as Black Panther again - Peter Parker mentoring Miles Morales - Spider-Man's bromances w/ Deadpool & Johnny Storm - more comic accurate versions of characters like Ms Marvel, Shang Chi, Klaw, Taskmaster, Titania, MODOK, Moon Knight, etc.
I'm sold on your version of Armor Wars I thought Doctor Doom, Crimson Dynamo, and others developed their tech outside of Starks inventions, but I'm sure AIM and any villain with a battle suit (SCorpion, Beetle, etc) would love to enhance their armor with Tony's inventions and combined alien tech
Should start a petition to resurrect Vision Quest. If enough fans speak out, the potential return will speak for itself and it will happen. Could even do a separate petition for Armour Wars.
Don't get me wrong, if it comes out I'll watch it. But if I had to choose what Marvel is gonna allocate their budget to, I rather it be used for shows whose characters are more central to the overall plot of the MCU, not Agatha. @@KingRich616
Tbh not many did. When GotG was announced, ppl were skeptical bc it wasn't what they were used to. But the reason why it was added is bc it went on to show the galactic scale/story of the MCU, and it tied almost everything on that scale nicely into future projects. I can be wrong about Agatha, but it def doesn't show the same amount of promise that GotG does (and eventually brought) for the MCU. @@ontos8914
I disagree with the guy on the blue screen because it's not about who asked about a movie or a show about a character whether its Echo, Vision quest or Young Avengers The only thing that matters is the writting, directing and the Acting 😐
@@droskie5I like em both but they seriously need to add some dudes because as of right now it’s a girls club which is wack. If they did something like bring Miles in alongside Kamala and Kate that would be litty.
We don’t know that that lackluster skrull/rhodey reveal wasn’t a setup to that in armor wars. They showed him getting found and that’s it. Everyone speculated that the hospital gown PROVES it was that long ago. As someone with a disability, you’re not going to the doctors JUST when you’re initially diagnosed/disabled. It could have been at ANY of his follow-up visits. What easier of a place to get him alone and replace him? He wouldn’t have guards in the room with him and his regular doctor. Only the doctor this time is a skrull. Incapacitate him, a skrull takes his place. Back to everyday life and no one is the wiser.
Young Avengers stars all characters from Disney+ shows, so it would make sense if this was also a Disney+ show a la Netflix Defenders. These characters were all really fun, and they'd be really entertaining, but a movie starring characters that have only been on Disney+ will only draw Disney+ subscribers, and that's not enough to break the box office.
I keep wondering what is written in contracts in regards to royalties. I can only assume shelving a show/movie would result in a lot of people losing out on lots of money.
I feel like Marvel Fans have become so spoiled... All this complaining and hating on shows and movies has inevitably caused more cancellations. Hard core fans will stay no matter way.. but casual fans waiting 3-5 years between movies is kinda wild.. we've almost aged 20 years since Iron man 1 getting a casual to care to 20 years is hard
I think that the point of the Avengers not being the popular characters in the past has been overemphasized and overstated for quite a bit. Yeah, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America were not in the Top 3 the most popular and best-selling characters in comics, but they still were pretty popular iconic characters known by just about anyone who knows something about comics. Contrast this to the Guardian of the Galaxy members who were very obscure for even an avid comic book reader before the movies.
My absolute favourite corner of marvel is the midnight suns. Id love a midnight suns show, like a proper show like they will do with daredevil, not a 6 episode special. An ancient evil awakens, Agatha realises the threat and rounds up a team of unlikely heroes to stop this evil and becoming the midnight suns. You could even replace doctor strange with America chavez if it was a multiversal threat
27:35 I still think one of the biggest missed opportunities for good ole fashion MCU foreshadowing and world building was not having Sam answer "Why didn't you?" to Rhodey's question. Foreshadowing Rhodey become the new Iron Man like he did in the comics when Tony was "indisposed"
💯 Trashcan Ironheart. I cannot disagree with yall more on the statement of Riri being "a good character". The age of the character was off, the scripting for her was terrible, and I'm sorry but the actress was not moving. None of her shoehorning into WF worked or felt organic. It's also the first show I seriously have considered not watching at all, and only catching recap vids on. I really, really am not feeling it.
I would've liked to see them introducing new characters by way of telling their stories through the aftereffects of the snap. Felt like the MCU characters moved on real quick from a universally devastating event.
1. captain marvel, 2. ms marvel season 2 , 3. she hulk season 2 , 4. loki season 3 with sylvie,5. ironheart, 6. young avengers,7. iron wars, 8. echo season 2 9. blackpanther 3 10. fantastic four . 11. moon knight season 2 12. x men 97 all need to go.
Ur sum up and idea for Armor Wars makes me as excited as you were(?) about it, even though I was basically already in ur camp, and was all in on Armor Wars upon announcement. I'm old enough to have read it as a kid and enjoyed it
I agree with you wholeheartedly. An Armor Wars movie where Rhodey took up the reigns & fought to protect his best friend's legacy is exactly what the last 2 phases were missing. Why didn't we get this?
Projects mcu should fast track/focus on for release, and projects I think deserve attention over all else: Spider-Man 4 Moon knight s2 Shang chi 2 Dr strange 3 Avengers secret wars Daredevil born again
I think they switch to animation instead of live action because: 1) it gives viewers time to connect w characters and figure out who the new stars will be 2) it gives them creative freedom to search for an actor willing to carry the franchise going forward and they can use the popularity of the animated character as a selling point 3) cheaper to produce and easier to control modify stories on the fly, without actors personal investment to the character playing a major role (ie Scarlet Witch unhappy about portrayal in MoM)
Okay so here is what I wish they do! they come out with a Loki season 3 or Loki realm explanation and say that the universes that died before Loki became the god, were the realms where the secret invasions, dr. strange 2 and maybe any other terrible ones that came out were the ones that died. They can also use a similar explanation and say that the butterfly effect of Loki becoming god was a change in the face of Kang, thus we have a new Kang, they can also maybe use this opportunity to write a slightly different Kang story. Then they focus mainly on a kang storyline, where they do a Shang Chi 2, a Dr Strange/ Wanda story, and a final Spiderman. They tie it up with the first young Avengers story, and then after do solo films for them. Idk just something I was thinking lol.
My take on all of this, is just what you alluded to: Who asked for this? I never needed an Agatha show. Was she great in WandaVision? Yeah. But that doesn't mean I need an entire series. Young Avengers feels completely forced. It all feels so forced anymore, and that's what has turned me off. It isn't superhero fatigue, it's their approach. Ironheart? Really? its just a mess now, its as bad as DC was, they need to draw a line and say this saga has ended and reboot with a whole new sage starting with the fantastic 4 completely ignoring everything that happened in the old saga, possibly in an alternate reality. Then build up from there.
every time they try to hark back to the old movies it doesnt work because the old characters are so beloved.

Biggest takeaway from this video is: stuff might get cancelled, but we don't really know what.
Basically
basically. all for clicks and views.
I figured that was the case. You've saved me about 28 mins.
right, really Slow news day guys????
We'll know eventually when everything either comes out or doesn't
If only they had cancelled Secret Invasion.
If that still got released, imagine how bad the stuff that was canceled must have been.
@@RobStevens64actually scary to think about. Makes you wonder if they care about us fans anymore or just their pockets
@@z1mmy9 they never cared about you. The MCU only exists because rich men thought it would make them richer.
It’s because Disney is focused on promoting inclusive stories, not good stories.
Just like Agatha spending all this money on releasing some bullshit no one asked for. They are also talking bout making a scarlet witch movie that no one fucking asked for either.

You nailed it.
100% agree, it happened to The Witcher recently
Tony Gilroy doesn’t care about Star Wars but he made one of the best SW things ever. You don’t need a director who is a fanboy or even that into the property. You just need a talented one who most importantly will respect the source material and honor the essence of it.

I generally think a film about Rhode dealing with Tonys death and the things he left behind would be a phenomenal film. Right? Armour Wars was the one I was waiting for. Shame.
Yeah same. It's a bummer @@inthem-a-king
Funny considering none of the avengers where popular before the mcu.
there are WAY to many charatcers in the mcu atp idk what you mean tbh. they could easily create a decent story with charatcers we already seen
They should have canceled Secret Invasion. That was terrible, hurts the story, hurts the characters and just ultimately leads to no where.
That's a show that should be a tax write off
That description fits a surprisingly large amount of phase 4 lol.
Between phase 4 and the lackluster Mando 3&Ahsoka (and terrible Boba Fett), I ended up unsubbing from Disney+ D:

I thought it was a good story, despite being cut down.
Echo doesn’t deserve the hate it receives, but the whole storyline reminds me when I’m doing well on an essay, hold it with confidence to do later last minute, and end up rushing the whole ending and sounding off after at 12:61am.

Showrunning is a skill.

the funny thing is Bob Iger launched Disney+ and wanted lots of content, Bob Chapek just went all in no Disney+, and now Bob Iger is like "woah guys! Let's reel it in!"
The issue wasn't that Chapel was all-in on Disney+ ... it's that he was also cooking the books on the service.
Cut back.
Ms. Marvel was doing well. Not as big a fan of this new mutant development.
Didn't care for the others characters that much.

Once Marvel communicated that there wasn't going to be continuity through the projects, people took that as a hint that we no longer have to watch every thing coming out. We have so many loose threads and retcons at this point, I don't blame anyone for being confused or being completely checked out.
When did they communicate that? All of the MCU movies are still connected. Whether through the same universe or multiversal stuff.
I dunno what you were watching but Marvel has never communicated this unless you are talking about the Marvel Spotlight thing which is a gimmick because they have plans to connect that all too.
@@Byronic19134 it is connected. Echo and Kingpin were in Hawkeye already.
Welcome to comics babyyyy
Amen bro
I actually disagree with a lot of their points of view
One of Marvel's major problems at the moment is, it's taking too long from first introducing new characters until the finally end up in the next project. Most people already forgot about the post credit scenes from the eternals. See Shang Chi, suprisingly great movie, but it's years ago now.
Pretty dumb how after years of low quality projects, they only listen to the $ not turning out well and not the community feedback.
I’m just happy they are finally trying to get better vs. keep releasing junk
Money talks and bullshxt walks. That simple.
@@Byronic19134 very true, but going off that statement would imply that they must’ve thought these projects would have done well until they didn’t…even though they purposefully sacrificed quality for quantity at a mass scale. Within reason it's the same with the gaming industry at the moment as well, they would rather create investment vehicles (live services games) then a one & done product that everybody prefers but they still keep on making those games so in the end they lay off employees because of the publishers mistakes for their shareholders.

To hell with wonderman, if they cancel my moonlight season 2 Someone's Getting a double-decker in their toilet.
At least Moon Knight is getting a physical release. Be sure to buy if you can!
I hope they cancel Wonder Man what a waste of casting.

"but we've killed a few projects already that we just didn't feel were strong enough"... That is saying a lot, Bob!
Ryan has the hardest blinks ever. Its like someone was cutting onions behind the camera as he was filming.
Yeah, he was too committed to this episode. Probs needed some rest
What a boss. His videos are all solid, first time noticing it myself. We all have our quirks, he’s a rockstar for not being ashamed of it 🔥
There is no way Don Cheadle was ever going to be the new Ironman. He always seems annoyed to even be there.
So you rather have Ironheart the new Ironman then? yeah you outta change your mind about rhodey cuz he’s the only guy you got
Bob Iger translation: “we gotta cut stuff because it’s effecting our billionaire bonuses.”
Also, Ironheart should just be featured in movies and utilized kinda like how Hawkeye and Black Widow were utilized in the first few phases. Then, once folks start to warm to her, you can give her a solo movie. Marvel has to stop giving us characters w/out proper build. I personally think they should get away from live action MCU shows period…they just aren’t that great as a whole. So, yes, animation should be the way to go on that front.
To be honest there were signs of slippage after infinity war

Uh duh... ya think?
They should have scooped up James Gunn in an executive capacity before Warner Bros. did. That would’ve alleviated Kevin Feige problem
Personally, I would like Netflix-style series that are year long weekly releases. That way character development can be better and storylines are better constructed.
I like that
If quality is a reason to cancel projects, then She-Hulk would have never seen the light of day
Which is too bad because I was really looking forward to the show :(
Amor Wars is blatantly getting cancelled. There's no need and no room for it
I hope so
Iron Man 2 WAS armor wars, another movie would just be a rehash of IM2, which was not that great a movie anyway.
I love the live action MCU, but there are *so* many things that are better/ much easier in animation, i.e.:
- easier & cheaper to cast characters
- probably significantly easier & cheaper to animate things than to deal with stunts, sets and CGI
- can have frequent crossovers & team-ups
- better child characters
- can have more violent stories for darker characters, or weird stories for quirky characters
- easier to get away with comic book costumes, acrobatic stunts & surviving insane injuries
- easier to make human characters like Black Widow & Hawkeye look more powerful (like Batman)
- easier to use animals (i.e. Rocket, Reptil, Squirrel Girl, Lockhead, Redwing, etc), aliens & supernatural creatures
- easier to explore different planets, realms & dimensions
- easier to show off dark scenes (it drives me crazy how dark & moody live action DC is, but it looks great in animation), etc.
Plus, I feel like it could also help satisfy ppl's desires for a soft reboot tbh, i.e. we could see:
- World Breaker Hulk - Hulk vs Wolverine
- Avengers vs X-Men - T'Challa as Black Panther again
- Peter Parker mentoring Miles Morales - Spider-Man's bromances w/ Deadpool & Johnny Storm
- more comic accurate versions of characters like Ms Marvel, Shang Chi, Klaw, Taskmaster, Titania, MODOK, Moon Knight, etc.
Wasn’t there supposed to be a ten rings show or somethin, don’t quote me on that I forgot
I'm sold on your version of Armor Wars
I thought Doctor Doom, Crimson Dynamo, and others developed their tech outside of Starks inventions, but I'm sure AIM and any villain with a battle suit (SCorpion, Beetle, etc) would love to enhance their armor with Tony's inventions and combined alien tech
Man, I really want ARMOR WARS, TF!
Well lucky for you nothing is confirmed lmao
@@Beezle66 What, you don't wanna see it too? War Machine is Badass!
Should start a petition to resurrect Vision Quest. If enough fans speak out, the potential return will speak for itself and it will happen. Could even do a separate petition for Armour Wars.
"Who asked for this?" is completely right. We don't need an Agatha show.
Don't watch it then
a whole lot of people didn't watch a whole lot of shit which is exactly why we are having projects getting cancelled here.@@KingRich616
Don't get me wrong, if it comes out I'll watch it. But if I had to choose what Marvel is gonna allocate their budget to, I rather it be used for shows whose characters are more central to the overall plot of the MCU, not Agatha. @@KingRich616
So who asked for Guardians of the Galaxy?
Tbh not many did. When GotG was announced, ppl were skeptical bc it wasn't what they were used to. But the reason why it was added is bc it went on to show the galactic scale/story of the MCU, and it tied almost everything on that scale nicely into future projects. I can be wrong about Agatha, but it def doesn't show the same amount of promise that GotG does (and eventually brought) for the MCU. @@ontos8914
Agree with Armor Wars!!! I clicked on this video in hopes you had some confirmation it wasn’t one that has been cancelled. 😞
Ryan seems to be blinking way differently than he used to. Is something wrong?
Looks like he's having an allergic attack or dry eye or something.
I disagree with the guy on the blue screen because it's not about who asked about a movie or a show about a character whether its Echo, Vision quest or Young Avengers
The only thing that matters is the writting, directing and the Acting 😐
Give us Moon Knight season 2!
Thats a no from me dawg
@@JuanMartinez-fs3cl🙃🙃🙃
“CABRINI”, Wow!! 🙅🏻♀️💪🏼 One of the most inspiring characters I ever seen in a movie. Have you seen it? I’d love to hear what you think? 🤔🎬🍿
So they let secret invasion roll but killed armor wars
Ryan your take in armor wars and Cheadle taking the lead was epic I would had love to see him and Anthony team up
The only Young Avenger who is at all interesting is Kamala Khan.
actuallly kate bishop is more interesting than kamala with those cartoonish powers
@@droskie5I like em both but they seriously need to add some dudes because as of right now it’s a girls club which is wack. If they did something like bring Miles in alongside Kamala and Kate that would be litty.
they had the kid in falcon and winter soldier he is supposed to be the young captain america which was in the comics.@@Byronic19134
this channel has always been behind a young avengers movie and i never understood it.. so many better things you can do
A single episode of Invincible is way more entertaining then MCU phase 4. period.
Agreed.
It's time to end Wakanda😢 it had it's time and is over. R.I.P Chadwick. Loved and never forgotten.
Don Cheeto in the captions. 😅
"Give us a reason to feel like we have to watch everything"....Dang....I felt that 100%
I would've liked to see them introducing new characters by way of telling their stories through the aftereffects of the snap. Felt like the MCU characters moved on real quick from a universally devastating event.
1. captain marvel, 2. ms marvel season 2 , 3. she hulk season 2 , 4. loki season 3 with sylvie,5. ironheart, 6. young avengers,7. iron wars, 8. echo season 2 9. blackpanther 3 10. fantastic four . 11. moon knight season 2 12. x men 97
all need to go.
You’re absolutely right about armor wars!
Paul Bettany just a day or two ago was quoted as saying his story & show with Vision IS still happening
Projects mcu should fast track/focus on for release, and projects I think deserve attention over all else:
Spider-Man 4
Moon knight s2
Shang chi 2
Dr strange 3
Avengers secret wars
Daredevil born again
I think they switch to animation instead of live action because:
1) it gives viewers time to connect w characters and figure out who the new stars will be
2) it gives them creative freedom to search for an actor willing to carry the franchise going forward and they can use the popularity of the animated character as a selling point
3) cheaper to produce and easier to control modify stories on the fly, without actors personal investment to the character playing a major role (ie Scarlet Witch unhappy about portrayal in MoM)
The guy in the tv had the exact same thought as i did when ryan mentioned dc having there own problems and mentioning the flash 😂
Ironheart? Really? That could be cool, but she was just shoehorned into a movie that already had too much going on. I hope they take a huge step back and scale things down.
