- The full flight from Montreal (YUL) to Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) on Porter Airlines brand new Embraer E195-E2. I was taking this route as part of a $1 promo fare. My initial flight out of Montreal was scheduled for the previous night but it was cancelled after the scheduled boarding time and I was re-booked onto this flight the next morning (with no compensation for the extra night's stay as Porter claims it was out of their control).

Was that takeoff at minute 10:00 really as quiet as it seems? That's amazing! Embraer is a direct competitor to our own Bombardier, n'est-ce pas? They seem to have an excellent reputation in the world for their twin-engine aircraft, anyway!
We paid all that tax money and they can't even comission a Canadian plane.. I'm not sure if the blame lies with the govt or Bombardier, but the end result is a real shame

Well they could have gone with the A220 but that would have meant taking delivery in 2026 or later. The Embraers made more sense and are excellent planes.
It would be nice if Porter can sell a helicopter shuttle service as an add-on from Billy Bishop Airport to Toronto Pearson vice versa to allow for easy connections to/from their E195 flights.

It was my first time doing so, next time I think I'll try to mount the camera instead of holding it lol. It's good to try something new every once and a while I think.
Airbus 220 are now built in Montreal ... Hope Canadian airlines will buy more Canadian than Brazil ... lets built strong proud Canadian quality products .

Yes, airbus may be better than boeing(debatable). Doesn't always mean canadian stuff is better. Often I see "Canadian made" and its trash to the one i normally use.
The Airbus 220 orders are backlogged, Porter would have to wait until 2026/27 at the earliest to take delivery of them. It makes far more sense to go with the Embraer at this point, which is in itself an excellent jet.

Glad you had a nice flight! Always amazes me how the sun is always shining and the blue skies are always there, just above the clouds. A nice reminder that no matter how cloudy it is, there is always hope.

Boo to Porter for no compensation 👎 not a good look for them
In fairness to Porter, I don't think any other airline would have handled this differently. Massive reforms are needed in the airline industry when it comes to consumer protection in this country.
