I watch your videos to learn Chris. I'm a NOOB with a 1994 pedal steer JD 650G. I bought it to tune up a steep 1/4 mile road down to the lake. Erosion is a real problem. I'll admit to being a sucky operator at this point and envy your skills. I'm learning every day but still have a long way to go. Could you help me out with a bit of advice? One point in my road is a steep right turn. It was supposed to have been made to shed water off the outer edge of the turn. Now the water is following the inside of the curve and picking up speed downhill on the next portion of road. I want to shape it to shed water off the outer side of the curve. Chris would you start cutting the outer edge and pushing it up to the inner curve, or would you start at the inner curve and gradually cut your way to lower the outer edge? I'm thinking I should start at the inner curve, cut lightly, and progressively cut more outward to the outer side of the curve. What would you do?
This job is looking huge now, When you started it looked like you were just widening a creek, now its looking like a Lake whichever way you point the camera!
I ran an old JD 450 dozer for 20+ years... and everyone always asked me "when are you going to get a bigger & newer machine" ?? ... I always said when it stops making me money !
Almost mushroom hunting time. Morels.. all that dirt work you do in the woods. looks like good spots to check. Do you hunt?? Have a good one buddy. Take care..
Put a piece of plywood in front of the culvert pipe with little dirt behind it it will fill up when you get done with the dam pull it out with excavator worked for me and kept me out of water...
I find one major fault with your posted "Free" to watch videos, that fault begin, they are too short and too good, makes me want to see the whole job as it is performed from start to finish. Thanks for the on the job videos, they can't be beat.
I enjoy grading a nice steep slope too,I mean hay the steeper the better right. But mowing it is a bitch! It's a shame enguneers dont take that into account.
I started watching your videos back before you bought the haul truck. Boy what a great investment that was. I think you guys use it on almost every big job!!!
Good to see Tim takes health safety issues seriously ! Here in New Zealand it is mandatory when working with heavy machinery Hi-vis clothing Safety helmet. Industrial footwear Your business practices are a accident waiting to happen !!
I see some road side slopes being tracked in by" verticle movements" . Is this better than a parallel pass? It is like they are climbing the bank then backing down. Hope that made sence. Also how much water is that little pipe going to be expected to move?
Really admire how you guys are unafraid to rip something out and redo it if you feel it's not up to your standards. Not all contractors care enough about their workmanship as you do to do something like that. You care and it always shows in the final project. Well done.
Anyone else doing a little body-english in their chair while watching this? I found myself leaning a little to the left due to the camera tilt! Edit: Whoop. Now a little to the right!
Something just doesn't seem right about that small culvert connecting the two halves. I guess they will have to drain it down time dig out the road and build the bridge?
Like clockwork Chris. Just about to go to bed and then the email pops up. Wait 5 mins so it's not potato camera quality and then enjoy the HD goodness before bed. Thank you :)
I've been watching your videos for a while now you do a very nice job for the jobs you do this coming spring I'm starting up my own business doing a lot of the same things you are doing. You have a good day
letsdig18 yeah i remember you said that in the last video or 3. We all do things sometimes that makes no sense. Keep up the awesome videos. Its a nice break from my world.
Curious if I could get some advice on how to go about clearing some land I own. Need to clear about a half acre to an acre of small trees. Nothing bigger than about 4 inches around. I'm looking to turn it into lawn. I've got access to a backhoe and a couple tractors or I can rent some equipment. Any recommendations how to go about it getting rid of roots and such.
Rent a mini excavator and pull the trees out stumps and all & stock pile to burn if you're allowed.... just make sure you remove as many roots as possible...., And level off everything when you're done.... I would wait a couple of months and see what type of natural grasses germinate and rough mow it for the first time, then you'll see what else you need to do in order to get some seed established.
Could you please come back to this when the London Bridge is in place and the lake is full ?
It is looking really nice so far.
if I had to grade that road, I'd give it an A
Lots of grading talent, no stakes, no laser, just a very trained eye!
Am I the only one who tilts their screen to try and help Chris from tipping over? Lol
Looks great!
I was leaning over in my arm chair trying to help him👍
Grading a side of a slope looks like a piece of art that not all operators are created equal if I had to guess (I am a nurse)?
I was going through withdrawal thanks for the video
You need to stop making stuff look so easy.😃 everyone is going to think they can go out and do these
Howdy!

Always love the dozer ride alongs! Great job!
Looks good glad it finally dried out for you can’t wait to see the finished product going to be a awesome lake
This job is looking huge now, When you started it looked like you were just widening a creek, now its looking like a Lake whichever way you point the camera!
do you feel the size of the dozer is big enough for the work you get, or do you see a larger one in your future
its a good size
It ain't the size of the dozer...it's an expert operator with a eye for detail !
I ran an old JD 450 dozer for 20+ years... and everyone always asked me "when are you going to get a bigger & newer machine" ?? ... I always said when it stops making me money !

damn good job man, wish i could work for a company that did this type of work
Not sure what order these get filmed and later released, but how are the new radidios working for ya?
Only problem is your tracking that asphalt up ….if anything use your blade to backdrag the surplus……
I read this technique was actually developed in Norway but the Finns always took credit for it.
All the videos are excellent but demo is favorite
I sure would love a 6way blade on my cat dozer !!!
Chris you’re insane bro grading basically sideways 😯your a bad a.. awesome simple awesome 😎
I enjoy grading a nice steep slope too,I mean hay the steeper the better right. But mowing it is a bitch! It's a shame enguneers dont take that into account.
I see no Rhyme or reason.. what a waste of Diesel
Push uphill and never level off or ..what are you dong .. i see no direction
Nice work :)
Yea the end product looks ok but your video did not show that,/.. Didi some on come in and do that for you?
don't forget to put the fish in.
I’ve really enjoyed this project. Thanks for sharing.
Finish the grade ? all you did is cut the bank the wrong way?
Nothing better than the lost art of Dozier work...love it
Looking good Chris ! That's a great project !
How come you never went back to show it completed?
Who works with you driving your truck and such?
Fresh off the. Press
I started watching your videos back before you bought the haul truck. Boy what a great investment that was. I think you guys use it on almost every big job!!!
EDIT! I commented on your method of tracking in before I finished the video........... Still what is the advantages of your method?
Looks like your slowly getting a little dryer
Watching you run that machine down the side of the bank. You’ve got me leaning uphill. Haha
Good to see Tim takes health safety issues seriously !
Here in New Zealand it is mandatory when working with heavy machinery
Hi-vis clothing
Safety helmet.
Industrial footwear
Your business practices are a accident waiting to happen !!
Could you revisit some of the pond jobs IE before and after view & now holding water 🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️
Hey Chris how are you doing

Perhaps some gravel " curbing " would give users some sense of security while being reusable later? (and drainable now)
Man I watch your videos all day long. I’ve watch everyone of them videos of you and that dozer! Keep up that good work bud!
You just can’t teach that!! Excellent. God bless and peace from Va. 🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜

I’d pave over that fine road
I've been watching your videos for a while now you do a very nice job for the jobs you do this coming spring I'm starting up my own business doing a lot of the same things you are doing. You have a good day
Any chance on getting a ballpark figure on what this cost? Also have you smoked anything on the rec tec?
Seems like someone got the cart ahead of the horse. As in putting rock down prior to finishing the bank.
my uncle got excited to haul stone
letsdig18 bet you just shook your head when you seen that. Haha
@@ashleywynn4923 they did that when I was on vacation
letsdig18 yeah i remember you said that in the last video or 3. We all do things sometimes that makes no sense. Keep up the awesome videos. Its a nice break from my world.
What type of camera system do you use?
What slope's are the embankments on the road?
Bottom and sides of lake look good, was wondering if you were going to do do that. HA
So where do you suggest we sneak in to do some fishing? Where is the best structure going to be located?
hi Chris. great video as always. stay safe out there and take care fella. ✌👍✌👍
Chris you are a real grading specialist.....the angle on the sides wow 👌
That project now is really starting to show its size looks great nice job guys 👍👍
Put the baby in gear!
As my friend used to say when we worked to gather that's mo better...lol
Looking great Chris and Tim. 👍👍🇵🇪🐕
I thought they were going to have a culvert big enough for a boat in that road?
pucker factor would be high doing this
I'm pretty keen to see the finished product on this one - say after the dam fills up
Nice to see someone who can use a machine properly.Nice job
this road is almost as big as the dam! and its only temporary?!
Im looking for the comment saying it ain't be got no water in it yet
Isnt it nice to finally have some dry weather in our area?
It takes great skill (and nerve) to grade a side hill like that.
Nice!
Thanks for the video.
It’s looking good . Can’t wait to see some more pond dredging

It’s amazing what you can do with a few Matchbox toys and a green screen
Please tell me that you are kidding?!?
Of course I’m kidding
What size pipe did you put under that road?
24"
At what angle does that thing tip over?
hopefully we never find out lol
good job looks good
Looks better👍
Looks nice!!!!
100% better!
Nice!!!
Man love your channel.. would like to see you get a bigger dozer... Awesome videos 👍👍
First
Should have bladed the gravel to the opposite side of the fill.. Then spread it back out over the road. Keep it out of the dirt.
